Where Are They Now?

My main focus is on Rey Mysterio, and where he's been since moving to Raw. The overall objective of the thread would be "where are they now" more or less asking where are "key" Superstars, who've been moved and are no longer being used as they once were.

As I said, my focus is with Rey Mysterio. He's a major name within the W.W.E., and short of two weeks worth of issues regarding Santino Marella, he's not been used. He was just coming off injury, so that could play some role into it.. but overall I think Raw is just too out of place for him, that they simply don't have anything for him and aren't sure how to properly use him on the brand right now.

As far as Mysterio is concerned, I highly believe feuds with Chris Jericho, and even C.M. Punk are possible, but they'd have to somehow bring Mysterio into the fold again and build him to being worth being able to hang in the Main Event scene. It wouldn't be a lot of hard work, but they would likely have to put him over J.B.L., Kane, Batista or even Cena in the process and I doubt that's going to happen.

So, as I said this thread is asking "Where are they now?" And it regards any Superstar on the main level roster, who hasn't been used a lot recently. Give your opinion on where they are, why they haven't been used, what they could be used in, and what you feel they should be brought back with.

I want to know where Elijah Burke is? He was a good competitor on ECW and now I haven't heard from him in awhile now. I honestly think that creative doesn't have anything for him right now which is kind of weird. He could easily go back on ECW and feud with alot of the top stars there. I think that when he returns he could be pushed into the US or IC title contention, or even the ECW Championship. Another one would be with Morrison. But as of right now, he's probably at home waiting for his chance again.

Mysterio - I think they're going to use him as an upper midcard and IC contender. A short feud with Jericho, a possible feud with Punk if they turn him heel...but mostly, I think he'll be feuding with those that float themselves (Burchill, Regal, Cade).

Where's Chuck Palumbo? Granted, I don't give a shit, as I think he's a bore, but he went from being used practically every Friday night on Smackdown to not having even made his Raw debut.

Where's Carlito? He hasn't made his Smackdown debut since the draft. Does he still have a job? I thought the whole reason for him going over to Smackdown was to give him something to do...lol

Where's the Boogeyman? He hasn't been shown in nearly a year. Why haven't they just fired him?

Mysterio is still not 100% fully healed but I also think creative doesn't know what to do with him right now. The thing is I think Mysterio could be a legit contender for the title if he fights against guys like Jericho/Punk since they are more his size.

Palambo-Creative has nothing and I predict a release soon.

Carlito-Still feeling the affects of blasting HHH, and maybe recieving a new gimmick? Pictures of him have surfaced where his hair down and in different gear.

I wont to know where the Highlanders are? I know one of them was injured but that was almost a year ago...Are they still feeling the effects of the whole TNA incident.

Regarding Mysterio, a month ago the main site reported that Mysterio wasn’t 100% ready to return to full action. They briefly used him against Santino because it would be a light match on Rey and to get him on TV to hype his supposedly momentous draft to Raw. My understanding is that physically he should be ready to return any day now, but the main site also reported he and WWE are trying to agree on the terms of his contract. He wants more than they’re willing to pay. When he returns, I don’t see him fitting into the current WHC scene. Like you said, Cena, Tista, JBL, and Jericho are all already there. I think they’ll pick up where he left off with Santino. Rey’s going to have to reestablish himself and the IC would be a good place to start.

Regarding Burke, he’s been MIA since May. He pops up about once every three months to do the job. It was reported he’d been trying out a new Black Pope gimmick, working dark matches. Most recent reports indicate WWE don’t have plans to use, let alone push, him anytime soon. That’s little shock though as he hasn’t been used regularly in over a year.

Where is Carlito? It’s been two months since he was drafted to Smackdown and he hasn’t been seen since. I guess he’s being punished for his most recent HHH remarks. I don’t see a place for him right now on SD! For one thing, we don’t need another “talk” show as we have The Cutting Edge and the V.I.P. Lounge. I’d assume he’d be a heel, but it just dawned on me the other day that SD! is seriously lacking faces at the moment. There’s really only Show and Hardy at the moment. SD! is also lacking tag teams so he could be partnered with someone in the short term. I think he’d have more options on ECW (Bourne, Ortiz, and Finlay come to mind) plus it’d get him away from the politics on SD! His Cabana would also give ECW a second talk show and give Miz and Morrison’s Dirt Sheet some competition.

Others MIA I'm curious about are Kenny Dystra and DH Smith. Dystra suffered an injury at the beginning of the year but has been cleared to return for some time now. I don’t think DH Smith has been seen since JBL decimated him like four months ago. It’s been awhile since his suspension for steriods. That can't still be the reason they aren't using him. Again SD! needs faces and tag teams yet they have young guys on the roster doing nothing. With the recent cuts, maybe we’ll see one or both of these guys soon.

Elijah Burke - He's been gone for a long time now. He got a new gimmick but he hasn't showed it on TV yet. ECW needs more superstars too. So where is he? He could have been an ECW champion too. I think he should have atleast one run with the title by now. He was an ECW Main Eventer last year with the New Breed. But every since the ECW Originals and the New Breed broke up he's been fading away more and more. To the point where he is never on TV. The last time I saw him was either teaming with Nunzio or fighting Batista. I can't remember which.

Mysterio - I read that he was in a contract dispute with the WWE because they won't pay him. They think that he is to injury prone even though he is a high merchandise seller. So that could be an explanation for him missing.

DH Smith - He hasn't been seen on TV since being destroyed by JBL in Canada I think. Every since he got suspended he has been in the dog house. When he got drafted to SD! i thought he was out of the doghouse but I haven't seen him on TV in a long time.

You'd think with all the squash matches WWE have, that they'd have time to fit in some of these guys like Carlito and DH Smith. I wouldn't be surprised if Carlito comes back with a renewed gimmick and then asks for his release 2 months later.

Palumbo? Do you really care? Honestly?

Boogeyman is shocking. His wrestling ability s only like 2% above Khali's and he hasn't been on TV in roughly a year i think. Why is he still getting a paycheck when guys like Chris Harris are being released without having a month's worth of tv time? Elijah Burke, while being miles better than Boogeyman, is in the same boat. I don't remember even hearing him mentioned after his ECW title shot against Punk last year, and how long ago was that?

As for Rey..... well we know how they're explaining his absence now.

Well, it looks like the mystery surrounding where Rey Mysterio has been was finally answered. Whether or not we get any definate answer (real life wise) on why he's been gone this long is unknown, but I must admit the storyline made me both happy and upset.

I was glad to see that they found something for both Kane and Mysterio, and truth be told I think if any small man can work with Kane again (similar to Sean Waltman) it'd be Mysterio. However I must say I'm disappointed greatly that they're more or less feeding Kane to Mysterio. (Yes, you read that right) Any who.. continuing with the thread logic.. next person up.

Deuce: It was a couple days ago, or last week (not sure) that Domino was released from his contract. This means that the Tag Team is definately over and done with, and Deuce is left alone on Raw without the possibility of reteaming with his Greaser Partner.

Yet since the draft, I've heard rumors of a semi-important push for Deuce since someone in creative is high up on the guy. I gotta admit, I don't see what's so impressive about him and I really doubt it'll be long before his semi-push turns into walking papers out the front door.

However, what is laid out for the future is unknown, so the question goes to ask.. what exactly are they, were they, or could they be planning for this guy.

I think if you wanna get him to get over in any manner, he should be paired up with Lance Cade and Chris Jericho, A.S.A.P. I realize they want to push Cade and Deuce as single's guys.. but really, I think they need to ask themselves if it's even worth it. Thus far Cade's push has been just as crappy as his in-ring skills and mic work, and Deuce.. short of a major overhaul, isn't going to likely be World Champion within the year, or even I.C. Champion. I think the Tag Team division needs these two to find each other.

I heard Duece has a great work ethic and attitude, and being Snuka's son probably helps. He would be great if they do that second generation faction. Palumbo, I like him, One of the last links to the end of WCW. I really think they should try to bring back some of the other members of the Natural Born Thrillers, they were good. Well, they are all available, but have Sanders, jindrak, O'Haire, Stamboli, and Palumbo. Screw the Biker gimmick, just have him be the "main event" Chuck Palumbo from when he debuted in WCW. Boogeyman? Never really liked him. DH Smith? See Duece. Carlito? Ehhh. I'm not worried about Mysterio, hes too good and popular to be gone long. Super Crazy needs to be used, I like him too.

I'd say given the recent injuries and flare ups of old injuries, they're probably going to take their time with rey and give him the time he needs to be 100%.

Where's Kevin Thorn is my query? As little as I could stand the vampire gimmick, and his nothing gimmick he had before, Mordecai was an awesome gimmick and can only hope that comes back. It won't but I can dream

As for others that have been mentioned:
The Natural Born Thrillers - O'Haire...failed to get over. Jindrak...failed to get over. Stamboli...failed to get over in any company. Palumbo...is anyone getting the idea of where i'm going with this or shall I continue. Fact is, they just weren't good enough to make it apart from the others, and it's got to the point that so little people remember who they are, that all they'll see are those four guys with awful gimmicks (except O'Haire, who had a decent run until Piper left him with nothing by quitting)

DH Smith - fall guy for a drugs bust. All he's got is that his daddy's a big name, nothing else. I wouldn't miss him.

Deuce - With a lack of Domino and no TV time, he needs to find something to do fast before he gets wished well in his future endeavours.

Carlito - If ever there was a waste of talent, it went by the name of Carlito Caribbean Cool. Talented, cool hair, decent look, good on the mic, cool hair...but no desire to be there. Sure he's good, but you've got to want it to make it.

The one I've actually been wondering about is what happened to bobby lashley? Here was a guy who looked to be getting a push, then he drops the ecw title and disappears after being sent back to RAW.
and boogey man as well, though I was just starting to like him, he had some in ring talent and a character that drew the eye then he was fed to Big Daddy V, who has also now vanished.
As for polumbo and domino, never liked either, but if you are going to release a tag, you should let both go, or try and split them up first to see if one of them will standout. I've also been curious about Kevin thorn, he looked like they were getting ready to push him, were phazing him out of the vamp gimmick, but has vanished. as for Burke, I'm interested in that guy he had working with him as a training partner, were calling him 'the bear'
i would also love to see thorn's valet, ariel?, back. she was hot. also, where is ashley? she was hurt, came back for about a month or two and vanished again.
