When TNA Shuts Down, Where Will the Roster Go?

I think it is inevitable now that TNA will shut down once and for all. This dying dog needs putting out of its misery and it looks like Destination America have all but done this.

Where do you see the current roster going in terms of WWE, ROH, GFW and LU?

In terms of WWE I don't really see anyone apart from possibly Storm and Roode. Most of the big TNA names have already done their WWE stint so will probably end up working for Jeff Jarrett - chances are Angle could be his marquee signing. Jeff Hardy will not be short of offers and La will probably just foccs on MMA.

Lucha Undergound is already bleeding money and IF they get a second season, which was suppose to be announced last week and wasn't, it is reported that they are going to drastically reduce their budget because they have already lost $20 million.

TNA just got dumped by a small network in DA, if TNA can get dumped by a small network, GFW will probably never find a network to be on. Almost a month away from their first shows and STILL no announcement of a network.
Yeah, let's wait until GFW finds an actual network before we start putting TNA talent in their roster.

ROH is on a strict budget as well. They ain't going to sign that many people from TNA. Maybe Eddie Edwards and Manik and DJZ. But that's it.

I'm not sure how burnt the bridges are still between the two but the one person I think WWE should get their hands on is Taryn Terrell. Otherwise Aries would fit in nicely with what they seem to be trying to do in NXT. Angle and Jeff Hardy may make WWE some money in a short reunion/retirement "sell some DVDs" tour but may not be worth the trouble. Maybe Beer Money can get a tag run.

Otherwise I don't know anything about what other wrestling organizations are trying to do and I don't see much money in WWE for TNA talent.

If TNA were to close, other than Jeff Hardy I don't see any talent going to WWE.

Beer Money would be a great fit in the tag division, but what else would they offer as singles competitors that WWE don't already have.

The Wolves would likely travel the indy circuit, as would a few others, Angle might end up in GFW or something.

Lets talk about top names only:

Kurt Angle - I believe Kurt will retire if Impact does not find a new home. I believe he has said he doesn't want to continue for too long so maybe this is Kurts send off, which if it is it'll be a sad yet good moment since he went down with the ship.

Bobby Lashley - He most likely will focus on furthering his career in MMA since I doubt any other wrestling company will give him the schedule for wrestling that TNA does.

Jeff/Matt Hardy - The obvious choice for the Hardys would be to return to the WWE but I don't believe that they can handle the schedule any more also I don't think the WWE would look upon the brothers past demons too well. I still see a run in the tag team division for them.

Bobby Roode/James Storm - These are the guys who I believe will be GFW bound. GFW has yet to announce any big names for their company and I'm sure the former tag champions could make a fairly big splash in the company, hopefully as singles stars with Roode being the face of the company while Storm takes on his current cult leader character with him to become a big heel.

Austin Aries/MVP/Kenny King/Drew Galloway - With the WWE recently sucking up a lot of names from the independent scene I'm sure these guys could fill those holes.

I am not hoping TNA goes down and I really hope a good station picks them up as I having been a loyal fan for years now. Best of luck to Impact and the people affiliated with it.

Its well established that WWE signings dont just show up on Raw or Smackdown anymore, They like you to go through the performance center & NXT. The only guys from TNA that wouldnt have to do that would be Kurt Angle, The Hardy boyz & Bobby Lashley... But Kurt couldnt get a deal just 6 months ago. The Hardyz have had thier demons, i think HHH knows thier is money in Jeff & i could see Hunter wanting to use them in NXT at 1st, something Matt would probably be intreasted in, but not Jeff. As far as Lashley goes, i agree with the posts above that he would just do MMA full time.. there are a few TNA guys that could probably get hired. The 1st guys i think of are Beer Money. They could tag or go at it as singles wrestlers. The thing is they are veterans who have families to support & probably dont think they should have to go to NXT 1st. I think Bobby Roode might go for a deal like Samoa Joe just signed.. but as close as James Storm is to Jeff Jarrett, plue his ranch/farm in Tennessee cant just be left alone for 85% of the year, so i think GFW would be more his style... A guy like Austin Aries is to old & not the size Vince prefers, he is a guy that WWE could hire as a trainer & work a few NXT shows like Brian Kendrick is now doing..So then you have to look at the Young Guys.. 1st up you have to wonder if EC3 & Bram are blackballed. You figure guys like Regal know about the growth they have experienced in TNA. Bram was let go because of his arrests, so he might of burned some bridges. EC3 had multiple injuries & didnt get along with Bill DeMott, who is now gone.. Id like to think he is still young & talented to get another shot.. the same can be said for Drew McIntyre. He hasnt said anything negative about WWE, He is still very young, but also has lots of experience on the main roster. HHH used to be real high on Drew & i bet if he sat down with HHH,Dusty,Billy Gunn & whoever else runs NXT & asked him if he would start from the bottom & help guys like Baron Corbin, Chad Gable & MoJo Rawley, teach them how to wrestle the WWE style, he would be all for that.. now are the guys who havent been with WWE. 1 guy i think they should bring into NXT is Robbie E, id specifically bring him in & team him with Zack Ryder. Id try the gimmick out in NXT & see if it can get over, if not u can go back to the drawing board or cut bait, another young guy, who was on a network tv show & also has mic skills & charisma.. he also has tv experience.. I think Gunner is another guy that is young & wouldnt mind going through NXT. He has that WWE look, he is still young enough to put that wwe polish & make him thier own. I know he just finished up being in a movie, im not sure if its a big movie or some independent film,i dont know how big his part is either, but its another neat thing to put on his resumè, another positive is he was a Marine who is an Iraq war vet, he can be in the marine franchise, i just think he has that "it factor" that WWE covet's. Another guy who is young & has a WWE type look is Jessie Godderz. He is still very green, so going to the performance center would actually be the best thing for him. But it's not like starting with nothing, as he has been on tv for about 2years & was on reality tv also.Magnus is a guy i think could be moneyin WWE, especially if he could bring his wife Mickie James with him. He needs to get better on the mic, but he has the youth, the look, and is British. WWE could have Regal, Barrett, Nevelle & Magnus as a British type of Evolution. Kenny King would be great, can work the tv style, but unless he tries to get in there 1st he might have to jump on a waiting list, going back to RoH might be difficult since he burned that bridge, he might want to have Jeff Jarrett's # on speed dial. Zema Ion i think would be best as a manager. He has charisma & can bump, just doesnt have the body to stick out to the WWE if half the TNA roster is tring to get in there. I think the Wolves burned that bridge in nxt as HHH finally gave them a deal, but then they just left. 2 other ex WWE employee's MVP & Mr.Anderson/Kennedy are hard to place. I figure Ken would be a long shot, but maybe Vince is a fan & figures the heat with Orton & Cena has passed or atleast cooled down significantly. MVP i think would be a guy that would be best suited for 1 of the Samoa Joe, Rhyno, & Bryan Kendrick have.. Then after 8 or 9 months if HHH is impressed he could get ole Vinny Mac to try him back on Raw, but i think he would be best to hop in the Bullet Club over in Japan, then work dates in RoH & GFW.. so thats about it as far as tna guy to wwe. Im sure the others will try to get dates in GFW or RoH or New Japan.. Even if WWE isnt big on bringing in James Storm as a wrestling talent, i think he is showing the business that he has a future as a manager. I also think Austin Aries could be a good manager.. im sure ive forgoten 1 or 2 guys. I just remembered Samuel Shaw, who i like because he is from my city, Jacksonville.. id like to see him go to nxt.. thats the thing, if TNA goes out of business, that will be alot of guys looking for a job at the same place.. it might not come down to who is better than who, but who u know, ur connections

Who knows? A lot of the current roster can find some good money and exposure on the indie scene. I'll throw out some names that WWE could possibly be interested in bringing in though.

The Wolves: We've heard the rumors of WWE trying to sign The Young Bucks for a while now, and The Wolves are similar in a number of ways. Both are recognized as two of the top tag teams in the world, both are relatively young, and both wrestle the same type of style. They would be a welcome addition to the tag division. That being said, they would probably take their chances in NJPW or ROH, which is another similarity to The Young Bucks.

Kenny King: Pretty charismatic talent and not bad in the ring. He could be what Shelton Benjamin was supposed to be for the WWE.

Austin Aries: As poster above mentioned, Aries would fit right in to NXT. I know I'm not the only one who's dream matches include Austin Aries. WWE has shown flexibility in signing talent so it's not an impossibility to believe they would take a chance on A Double.

Kong, EC III, Mickie James, Hardy, Angle: I could see the first two coming back for a second stint if WWE were open to it. James has said she'd be open to coming back, going as far as petitioning for it; WWE may want to use her in the revitalization of the Divas division. I could see the latter two coming back in a role similar to RVD or Jericho were they willing to take a pay cut.

As for the rest, they'd be able to find work elsewhere without a doubt. They may not all land in ROH, GFW, or NJPW but somebody would pick them up.

I think most of them will go to the indies. Bad thing about that is they will flood the market and lower everyone's prices. Too much avalible talent and they will be undercutting each other's prices. Talent won't be worth as much as it is now. I'm not a TNA fan, I used to be but I haven't been in a few years, but I hope they stay afoot because them going under isn't gonna be good for anyone.

It's not inevitable until the company closes it's doors.. People have been putting a time limit on TNA for year's, but guess what? They're still here... But let's say they do shut down, most will probably retire from wrestling and some will stay on the Indy's, maybe try GFW.

To be fair things look a hell of a lot more dire right now then they ever did in the past. This is the second network in 12 months that's cancelled Impact Wrestling, that's not a good sign no matter how you shake it.

In regards to the OP, I would expect some of the older guys will retire or work on a part time basis from now on, I expect a lot of the smaller guys to end up in New Japan or ROH and WWE will grab a handful of guys and knockouts to use them in NXT. Someone like EC3 seems like he could do very well in WWE, I'd love to see Kong back in WWE as she could do great things there, maybe even the Hardy's will make a return as well.

All in all though I expect the majority to end up overseas with a handful going to ROH and WWE.

Stop, stop - I can only get so erect! The thought of Austin Aries in NXT-- oh dios mio!

And how wonderful would it be to have Taryn Terrell go from TNA to somewhere that has a similar attitude to women's wrestling - i.e. NXT? If anything, I'd say TNA's attitude is, well, much more progressive, but NXT has done well on that front as well.

Similarly, Awesome Kong would be very welcome in NXT.

I wonder if anybody with any power in WWE has watched TNA and seen how EC3 - who was honestly pretty good as Derrick Bateman - has been absolutely killing it on a weekly basis.

I'd like to think that WWE fans would realise how far above the tag division Jeff Hardy is and thus how redundant the Hardy Boys are.

And, just so I can have one non-WWE paragraph, I think Rockstar Spud would do very well back on the UK indies.

Well if TNA do in fact go under then I can see GFW snapping up several TNA Stars. The likes of Bobby Roode and Jeff Hardy would be great additions to the roster and give them a couple of big names that the company will need to draw in the fans. The Wolves will more then likely end up there as well since ROH would only be willing to resign Eddie and if Jeff is serious about making GFW a truly global brand, Then I can see him signing guys like Drew Galloway, Bram, Extreme Tiger and Khoya.

WWE might sign a couple of guys for NXT like Austin Aries and Kenny King and if Vince is serious about break the attendance record at wrestlemania 32 then they might consider offering Kurt a legends deal.

The rest of the Roster I can see working the Indys for the time being, with one or two like james storm and MVP possible signing with NJPW or ROH with jeff jerrett possible signing one or two more guys later on down the road.

You're going to look dumb as fuck when it's revealed this is all a work. TNA just got a new creative and he's already working the fuck out of you fucking clueless idiots.
