What's wrong with Sheamus??

Getting Noticed By Management
Sheamus returned on Raw, after a match between Bryan and Ziggler, and while Barrett tried to jump both of them. Eventually, Barrett ran away, and Sheamus attacked both Bryan and Ziggler.

When he came out, it was obviously a shock, but not just because of him returning, but also because of his new look. He was really really weird at first, because of the snap change on his looks, and the crowd didn't take it kindly.

Now, I don't know if the crowd responded the way they did, because he attacked Bryan and Ziggler, or legitimately because of his look. To me, apart from a fresh start, as a heel apparently, it also suits him well, and also suits his barbaric character well. He looks like a badass, and he should, since he is gonna be playing a heel.

I guess it will take time and in one month's time, people will be used to him already. After all, we all wanted him to return as a heel, and what a better way than changing everything on him that was reminiscent of his face run?

Everyone said when he came back it would be as a heel, so that isn't surprising. What was a surprise what the ridiculous mohawk, this isn't the i980's anymore. And what's up with braiding his beard. Instead of looking like a badass, I burst out laughing, and I don't think the fans were impressed either.

Now what would have been more shocking than anything else is he came back with a tan. That florescent white skin of his just doesn't go with the new look.

I'm thinking that it had more to do with him attacking Bryan & Ziggler than anything else. You have to remember that last night was an extraordinarily smarky crowd, which means they're going to rage against wrestlers who aren't among their own personal chosen ones when said wrestlers attack guys like Bryan & Ziggler. At the same time, attacking someone like Bryan, the most over babyface on the roster, is a great way to build heat.

I've got no major problems with Sheamus' new look personally. The heavily gelled Mohawk might be a little much, it does look a little silly. A shorter, more traditional Mohawk might be the way to go. The beard I get, but the Mohawk didn't make him look like a savage warrior because it's just too heavily styled; it looks too much like someone standing in front of a mirror for half an hour liberally applying gel in order to make it look exactly right. I like the way he handled the audience, he handled the taunts smoothly. With such a smarky crowd, the absolute worst thing would've been to get worked up because it would've only made the crowd go after him all the more.

It's amazing to me. Fans for years have been clamoring for Sheamus to completely re-invent his gimmick... last night we got that, and it was crapped on. Although I do think the chant arose from the Brogue Kicks, it made me shake my head. You look stupid? What are we, 2 years old? For some reason, a lot of fans get off on trying to embarrass wrestlers... I don't understand it, personally. Sheamus handled it absolutely perfectly though, so there shouldn't be any harm done.

I too thought Sheamus looked awesome. He's very reminiscent of a real Celtic Warrior whereas before he just had the moniker. I don't think the chant will have any real effect on Sheamus going forward other than maybe carrying on for a few weeks, but I do think he's going to have some real heat on him. People don't react well to change, and the first instinct is usually to point and laugh for most people when somebody makes a change. He should be fine going forward. WWE has made a great decision in having Ziggler, Bryan, Barrett, and Sheamus in contention for the title and it should make for some compelling television.

Sheamus is the perfect professional. He knew how to milk the real heat out of the situation. His pauses, his looks, every action he had was calculated. Sure, the smark post-WM crowd shit on his mohawk, and while I think he should have gone for fully shaved bald and braided beard, I still thought he looked like a badass. Give me more heel Sheamus, please.

Edit: If you play any sort of video games (WWE's primary demographic does) and it's a fantasy game, Sheamus' look last night was EXACTLY what a Barbarian/Celtic Warrior looks like. I mean, while it's not real, it's certainly something that 12-40 year olds will find familiar.

I wouldn't worry too much about last night's reaction. The post-Wrestlemania crowd notoriously hate on Sheamus every single year and this year was no different. The good part is that casual fans will take it that he got a lot of heat for turning on Bryan and Ziggler and will hopefully boo him out of every building.

Personally I like his new look and his heel turn. I'm Irish, so maybe I'm biased, but I see tonnes of ability and potentially in Sheamus, especially as a heel

You have to remember that last night was an extraordinarily smarky crowd

No, you know WHO needs to remember what kind of crowd the WWE typically deals with post-WrestleMania? The WWE.

I'm sure the blame game has already commenced. This wasn't HHH's fault because it was the decision of the "writers" to make Sheamus look like the Techno Viking. This wasn't the fault of the "writers" because they didn't want to re-debut Sheamus as a reincarnated Clonycavan Man (look it up!) during an episode of RAW where the fans would obviously crank their dicktitude up to eleven being that it's what happens during every RAW after WrestleMania. It wasn't God's fault because even he admits he was wacked out on bad blow when he brain dumped Sheamus' original look and has sworn off having anything to do with him ever since. It wasn't Satan's fault because he needs Steph's permission to do anything. It wasn't Steph's fault because she's probably still convinced that Sheamus' appearance on RAW was a terrific success.

I think there is more to the "new look and attitude"... Remember all those rumors a while back that while he was "back home" he filmed a cameo in a certain major movie due out this Xmas... turning to the "Dark Side" so to speak... and how he didn't actually deny it.

Yeah the rumor was/is that Darth Vader appears in Flashbacks in the new Star Wars and it's the Celtic Warrior in the suit... IF that is true, the this "tune up" turn to the Dark Side is actually very smart business... cos if it's true and when it's out, Sheamus will have quite a bit of mainstream attention...and then being a heel and having a "look" will help him and WWE piggy back a bit. WWE botched/missed out on Batista blowing up after his role in Guardians so they're not gonna make the same mistake again... sure you're not gonna hear the Dark Lord of the Sith saying "Fella" but if it was a WWE guy in that suit, it's a BIG deal for WWE. If it is, that means talk shows and the mohawk/beard combo would play well there, far more than his traditional "grandad/Sami Zayn" hat and tweed which makes him look a tool.

Of course it might all be crap and he and Darth are not in the film... but it makes a lot of sense...

In terms of his return... perfect idea, he gets heat over Bryan from the past anyway so using him and potentially teaming up he and BNB is a smart move, two European guys feuding with 2 American guys over the Intercontinental title is a good plan. He and Barrett will work well together against Zig and Bryan.

The crowd were snarky, but the look did it's job, it got him heat... he clearly expected the "You look stupid" chants and went with it and enjoyed it. Maybe he's hoping for a role with Dave in the new Highlander movie or as Humongous in a Mad Max sequel? Either way, he's evolved his character a bit and the look is hopefully the first part of that.

Sheamus is a GREAT talent that WWE haven't been able to capitalise on, that he now looks one part punk, one part monster...he can get back to being that wrecking ball he used to be when he was good.

Sheamus didnt return tonight...

Eric Everhard made his debut

Thats whats fucking wrong with his look, he looks like a fucking pornstar going through a mid life crisis

The heavily gelled Mohawk might be a little much, it does look a little silly.

When he first ran down the aisle, I thought we were witnessing the return of the Red Rooster, that "wildly respected" performer once played by the immortal Terry Taylor.

But okay, Sheamus backed up the wild man look with a wild man performance, attacking everyone in sight. Honestly, I figured his re-debut would come in a more dramatic situation.....instead, he just showed up in an ordinary end-of-match scene and set upon faces and heels alike; we've yet to hear what's made him so angry during his lengthy absence.

But, hey!....it's Sheamus and it's so good to see him back.....and in a heel role, as many fans have wanted.....that we can wait to see what's driving him this time around.

Just hope he doesn't start doing Terry Taylor's rooster chant.

Im irish too but tbh i thought he looked ridiculous couldnt take him seriously but i might get use to it over time anything better than what he was previously doing he was so boring before

I wouldn't take that crowd last night very seriously. The night after mania you get the very smarky attention seeking crowd.

It's so good to see Sheamus is still not wearing pants in the ring. Nobody wants to see his any less of his pale skin than is already showing. In fact, I'm sure most people would like it if he didn't wear elbow pads or knee pads or even shoes and basically just wore what Rusev wears so they could be almost naked fraternal twins.

That's best for business.

I don't see nothing wrong with Sheamus. He's a heel like he needs to be. I look forward to see what they do with him. Hopefully they don't waste this opportunity.

I’ll admit, Sheamus' new look is eccentric, and it'll take some time to get used to it, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not a big problem.

I just hope WWE won't make the same mistake twice with Sheamus' character, and his promo material. For some strange reason, WWE has a bad habit of force feeding atrocious comedic promo material (with pre-Fast Lane Roman Reigns as the most recent example) to some of the top faces on the roster.

After Wrestlemania 28, WWE pretty much ruined his character with goofy comedic bullshit. The corny folktales, the horrible jokes, the hokey humor, and I vividly remember an in-ring segment a few years ago with Christian, and Sheamus told a cringeworthy story about a green testicle.

Sheamus is a strong and nasty brute, who likes to hurt people. Keep things simple on the mic, and hopefully Sheamus will reestablish himself with consistent in-ring work and a series of sneaky heel attacks should help.

Nothing at all is wrong with it. He is a heel, with a fucking ginger Mohawk. What other purpose would that serve but to look like a fucking idiot?

After watching smackdown I like what they are doing with Sheamus. He looked real aggressive and physical. He is way better as a heel.

I don't mind the mohawk. He is an odd looking dude either way. Lol

This looks suits him and his new heel persona. I fucking love his new theme. I just found out ( after watching Vikings ) that I love old norse/nordic music. And his theme is like a mix of Wardruna + metal and I'm in love with it. That music + his natural swagger and intensity makes for an awesome return. I do wish he would drop the whole "fella" stuff. I get it, he's Irish, but I doubt Irish people say fella every chance they get. Just be a badass monster heel with a badass theme with a badass hard-hitting style and be done with it.

He's kinda what Roman Reigns needed to be ( tho as a face since he was a face but he can work as a heel since he seems like an introverted a-hole in real life ).
What I love about his return is the return of one of the few badass entrance themes that we have since so many of them arent really that amazing. Like, remember Drew McIntyre theme? Holy shit. Sad that his theme had to die cause of him getting released.
