What's Next for Murphy?

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
• No longer teaming with now TNA Television Champion Gunner.

• Tossed from Immortal after losing to Rob Terry on iMPACT! last night.

• Growing a beard...

I get that he's considered green by most of the internet fans, but he does have the right look, despite lacking the same level of intensity as his former partner.

So what's next for him?

NWA Anarchy fans would remember him as Mikael Judas, a much darker character than the character's he's played in TNA, but would that even work in TNA?

Rob Terry is also gone. Hogan said he didn't have time for either of them. I wouldn't mind Terry rejoining British Invasion and Murphy most likely will be working only house shows for a while.

Murphy is finished IMO. The only exposure he has been getting was by being a part of Immortal. Now, he is out of this group, consequently, there is no more use for him. What else can he really do? He is not going to join Fortune, nor I don't see him fighting Immortal.

The guy does nothing for me and was just a face in the background during Immortal promos. Although I also think Immortal needs some guys like this. Hired goons if you will that they can use to group beat down people, however no real loss if he gets released or just vanishes for a while.

I think that Murphy needs to take some time off from Impact and improve his in ring skills and come back down the road in a different gimmick that allows him to show more of a personality then he has shown now as Immortal Muscle. Like IDR noted in NWA he played a darker character named Mikael Judas and did a good job at that. Murphy has a really good look and he has some talent but I just think that right now he needs to develop his skills and find a gimmick that works for him and if he could do that that is when he should be reintroduced on Impact.

Well since the wrestler that is portraying Murphy signed a contract just like the wrestler who portrays Gunner, i don't think they (TNA) will release him so soon. Don't give me the Jay Lethal was released story, from what i have read on wrestlezone it was a backstage issue about the x-division wrestlers.

Gay Porn?

Beard worked for Terry but not so sure about this guy. Murphy can be a useful cog in the wheel at some point but he needs to be repackaged and certainly did not need to be in immortal as a nobody. Once they correctly split Gunner out Murphy just had nothing to go on aside from his size. No story, no character and no one cares. He clearly needed a change of some kind.

Shattered makes a good point -- no one cares.

I will say, however, Murphy and Gunner have grown on me. The growth is minimal, and I started off believing both men were absolute garbage and total wastes of time. So, they're still on my "I don't give a shit" list.

I'm guessing this means he's done. Big guy, and in all honesty, wasn't terrible in the ring. I just don't see a demand for him, nor do I see a solid spot on the roster. In the end, he means nothing, so I'm guessing that's how management will treat him.
