What was the point / payoff of TBP / Angelina feud?

What was the point of the Beautiful People / Angelina Love feud? More importantly what was the payoff suppose to be?

The feud starting because Angelina came back and beat them up because she was pissed at Velvet for "replacing" her. Even though Angelina never made it clear if she was mad at Velvet for thinking she can replace her as the leader of TBP or mad about them bringing in Lacey Von Erich. Which I thought was bad writing right there and it took like 2 weeks for them to even give Angelina any promo time to expalin herself.

That set up them feuding for months with Angelina easily taking them out in one on one situations only getting beat down when they had the numbers advantage. I really thought this was going to be the feud to finally make Velvet Sky a star. She was doing some amazing heel work at this time and all she needed was a big win and possibly the KO title to make her legit, but of course that didn't happen. Hell when TBP won the KO tag titles they couldn't even let her be the one to win them for her team which was something she needed. Another thing that hurt Velvet doing this feud was having her win a open contract to have any match she wanted. But they booked her to waste an opportunity to win the KO title from Angelina because she would rather humilate her than win the title.

If their feud wasn't even about the KO title why did they give back to Angelina at that time anyway? I always thought that was dumb.

Moving on to Lockdown TBP finally win a match on PPV but yet again Velvet doesn't get the win instead Madison does and becomes the KO champion. Which once again I feel made Velvet look bad but I understand why they gave to Madison for storyline purporses. Then Angelina comes back after a month of being out with an injury she finally gets her revenge on Velvet (which should been made a bigger dea)l about by DDTing her on a chair putting her out for a while.

Fast forward through everything else and Angelina & Velvet reunite and put their past behind them to focus on stopping the "monster" they created in Madison.

So it seems to me the purpose and payoff this feud served was just to eleveate Madison Rayne and make her the KO champion. Also it seems like TBP lost the feud since Madison never really got what was coming to her and is the KO champion again and TBP are no longer in the title picture. Which doesn't make sense since they are faces now.

I know I left out some things but I didn't want to make the post too long. I admit the feud was interesting when it started and picked up again a few months ago but looking back just seems kind of pointless now. Which is sad because I don't really blame the women involved more the writing and booking.

So what are your thoughts?

I think the premise of your argument is highly debatable because it hinges on the idea that Velvet was the one who should be elevated. I like Velvet but she is more of a good character with a nice ass, opposed to a total package. The character Velvet Sky is best as the original BP with Angelina Love. The points of the feud were to a) Re-establish Love as a force in the division after her visa issues b) end the directionless BP2.0 c) give an all-around talent in Madison a push in the process (something she has taken and run with IMO) d) Recreate the original BP except as faces.

First of all...who cares? We get to see Velvet Sky week in and week out and nothing bad can come from that! I'm glad Love is back and I'm glad to see a little bit of a shake up with the KO's. Madison's hair color change will probably make for a face change soon too. Throw Tara and Mickie in the mix and I'm a happy man!

Shakin' Abe First of all...who cares?

I don't care about the storylines, I don't care about the promos, I don't care about the wrestling. What I care about is the ring entrances, which is the best thing the Knockouts have going for them and makes them worth watching

I'm probably going to have a different opinion than most on this thread.

To me the Knockout division hasn't been the same since the departure of Awesome Kong, Gail Kim and ODB. I just can't get into their storylines anymore. They have no substance to speak of and just come across being shallow as hell. The nail in the coffin for me was the Sharmell/Jenna match.

The TNA Knockouts and tag team division were the two things that kept TNA the most different from the WWE. The Diva's are mostly crap and they have no tag team division to speak off. While TNA's tag division is still going strong, the Knockouts have come down a peg or two and show no signs of getting back to they were before. Maybe the addition of Mickie James and the reported signing of Katie Lee Burchell will help, but as it stands right now, forget it.

I have to agree with you. I hope the debut of these two women can help the dying KO division. You know what else killed it? The KO tag titles. Where are they? Why haven't they been stripped? It has been more than 30 days since last defense. Forget the women teams. BP is the only good one. Keep the KO title. Get rid of the KO Tag Titles, and start over fresh, have Taylor and Hamada go for the main belt. Sarina is good too. TNA needs to know how to use the talent they have before brining in more.

I think when they brought Angelina back and she was feuding with the then BP than TNA never planned on having Velvet and Angelina get back together. getting Velvet and Angelina back was something they probably came up with not too long before it happened.

I think the main goal right now(or this year) with the KO divisions has been having hot women to watch on TV. likely a top reason to rid of someone like Kong. definitely not hot.

I guess the addition of Mickie James and the other new girl that TNA is bringing in should increase the in ring wrestling. at least they are attractive, which IMO is more important that their ability to wrestle in the ring. maybe its me, the number one thing I would look for in a KO is how hot she is. Velvet, Angelina, Madison, Lacey = win!

The point was to have a resolution to the breakup of Velvet/Lacey, and Madison, and also help launch Lacey and Velvet into their face role, if you want to call it that. Which has happened, and then they moved on. Although I do think the real point to this story was just so we could see them shake their pretty little asses on the way down to the ring.
