This is absolutely terrible timing for Seth as wrestle mania is right around the corner. It's actually being advertised as one of the biggest wrestle mania of all time, with the wwe aiming for a complete sell out. That in mind Rollin was reported to be in one of the main events. The only question is for what match?

-Might be a shield triple threat, as the 3 had a lot of interactions throughout the year so it looked like they were going in that direction

-Also could've been a triple h match for passing of the torch. No doubt that would've put over Rollins huge and cement his legacy. It's too bad that's out of the picture

-Could've also been a reigns vs lesnar vs Rollins rematch. Would've been great to see all 3 contrasting styles

One thing I'm bummed about is that this is gonna take a huge chunk of Rollins career. He's only 29 and its sad that he suffered such a career threatening injury and he may never be the same again. Maybe he has to switch his finisher and wrestling style. Maybe the company will view him as injury prone and a liability to push like they view Daniel Bryan.. He should've stopped the match right then and there; he pedigreed Kane which probably resulted in the extra injuries.. Damn it's just a shame that a performer like Rollins got injured

Eh..... injuries are an unfortunate part of the show. But compare him to a guy like John Cena, who suffers an injury scare every two years or so, and has consistently been at the top of the card. The WWE is mostly past the era of "gets hurt too often", not through any good will on their part, but because that kind of attitude gets them sued. (See: Punk, CM) Better to let them take a few months off and rehab the injury, especially at this time of year with Wrestlemania season around the corner.

Never trust the injury estimates that are made public; one of the oldest tricks is to provide an overly long estimate, then bring the performer back "early" as a "surprise".

This is one time I hope you're right rayne. Hopefully the amount of time estimated is a "work"

Seth Rollins is the type of person who I imagine will be spending every waking second improving his physical health to get back in the ring. I don't think that their estimate of his time required for full recovery is a "work", I think that they honestly don't know exactly how long it would take and they don't want to throw false hopes around by assuming that there won't be unforeseen complications along the way.

As far as assumptions for how he would have been booked; I think that Seth would have had a one-on-one world title match against Roman Reigns. The WWE is finally figuring out where they went wrong with Roman, and I can see them making a main event match between Roman and Seth work well. I believe that Roman would be walking into the event as champion, as the talk surrounding Survivor Series was that Roman was supposed to beat Seth for the title.

I feel for Seth, but I'm honestly not worried about him. He's the type of person that just never gives up and that'll serve him well on his road to recovery.

A torn ACL is 6 months to a year. Not even Cena's magic robot healing powers would really assist that, but if it's a any of the other ligaments in the knee instead then he has a chance of showing up really early, like rumble early.

I voted Rollins vs HHH. That is probably the way they were going with a Rollins face turn happening. Rollins is young and healthy and should hopefully make a full recovery. If he was even 10 years older I would have doubts.

He will not be back until he is fully recovered though and I can see it taking somewhere in the neighbourhood of 7-8 months.

You are the only person I actually would wish an injury on

I think It was Face Seth Rollins vs Heel Triple H.....
It would have been an awesome way to put over Rollins... By defeating Triple H.....

I have torn my ACL and he definitely landed in a way that his ACL could have been torn. I think he legit tore it.

If he did a complete tear, he is out for 6 months minimum. The new ACL takes 6 months to reattach itself fully. There is no way around that. He can come back at exactly the 6 month mark if he does a very aggressive rehab. He will be cleared at the 6 month mark regardless, it is just a matter of strength (usually 1-3 more months is needed to build the strength backup).

The only possible setback is the screw that is used in the surgery. Usually the screw dissolves itself but it can be knocked loose (mine was) and need to be taken out. The recovery time for that is only a month or so.

The other two injuries don't matter much. They heal long before the ACL does.

I would have just loved a one on one match with Brock. With Seth winning more and more matches cleanly, and finally overcoming Brock, you could have had a progression of the character from sniveling heel into tough, babyface champion that was baptized by fire...

...before Sheamus cashes in on him the same way he did on Brock and Roman, and finally completely understands how he stole from Brock and Roman.

I doubt there was a solid plan for him at WrestleMania. There were probably a few options on the table, largely depending on if they could get certain part timers and/or legends to work the show.

I may be showing my naivety, but I'd like to really believe that WWE has plans for these full timers:

  • Cena
  • Reigns
  • Rollins

I realize it would probably only be those three, but I'd like to imagine that they get top priority of the full time stars. Seth was Triple H's first NXT Champion, and I can imagine he's going to have a vested interest in seeing him succeed.

Everyone else, yeah, they're probably waiting until three weeks before Mania

What a shame that Rollins got injured. His feud with triple h would've been one of the best built matches for wrestle mania, 2 years in the making. It also would've been Rollins biggest victory of his career and we would've looked back on it years from now.

No you're wrong. History shows that triple h does the job when it matters most, at wrestle mania, sure he beat sting and lesnar, but imagine if he lost those two matches, he would've had a terrible record and become another Jericho where beating him won't mean anything. In my opinion those wins were justified. Also he did out over the shield 2 ppvs in a row and he put over Daniel Bryan. I believe he would have put over Rollins since he's his pet project. Unlike Cena he would do the job and he won't try to compensate by beating him for the next 5 matches they have

Do you really think that John Cena just goes out there and does what he wants? You don't believe that he follows the plan set up by Vince and Co? Don't tell me you really believe that?

If Cena or anyone beats another wrestler 5 matches in a row, it's because they've been told that's how it's going to happen by the back office.

Triple made Batista, randy Orton, Chris Benoit, and the entire shield into stars. I have no doubts that he would've put over Rollins unlike Cena

You're STILL not getting this are you? How naive can you be to think that Cena does not use any backstage politicking? Do you really believe that he lives, sleeps, and breathes his character?

But Cena isn't facing Rollins for anything. And they've quite honestly had a few stellar matches. Besides it's HHH's job now to make sure that new stars are shining brightly as some of the ones on the roster are beginning to fade.

So I will hold my judgement until Cena and Rollins face off. You of course are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that.

Hold on is this directed at me, because if it is you little shithead you're in a world of trouble.

Reserve your judgement before Cena and Rollins faced off? Did you not just see Cena best Rollins 4 times in one month, all clean? All this while Cena is the u.s champ and Rollins is the world champion, which makes it even stupider
