Going on 10 years with WrestleZone
Following Monkey's departure, here are some options:

1. Don't replace him. 3 NWS mods and 2 Wrestling mods work.

2. Promote Ricky to the spot. He can do WZCW and the Wrestling Mod spot.

3. Promote a new moderator. New blood would be killer.

I suggest option 4.

4. Move Lee to Wrestling mod, and allow him to keep Technology.

3 Wrestling mods in the busier sections of the forums, and 2 in the places that get very little play. The only non-wrestling forum that gets good traffic is the Bar Room, and we don't really need Bar Room mods.

What's a better philosophy - less mods in the sections that get less activity, or more mods to create that activity?

Are those mods creating that activity?

Nope, so let's put the mods in the busy sections. I've never agreed with the philosophy that the moderators should be used to generate discussion anyhow.

Then you and I have a diametrically opposed philosophies. You became a mod because of your ability to drive discussion and make great posts. Mods and G-Mods are held to that criteria. Admins are not - but still do and still should. It's yours and everyones job to keep this place going.

Then we need new NWF mods, because, aside from Lee in Technology and CM in WPC, which one of those guys are doing that?

The G-Mods around here do a lot of work creating discussion, especially in the times they are not busy with things. But, outside of the technology forum and Bar Room, how many of the NWF mods create/drive discussion?

While that may be your philosophy (and that's certainly fine, especially considering you and Shocky are the ones who make that decision), it's not working out that way now.

However, the majority of the warnings and infractions on the forums these days comes from the wrestling forums. We only have two dedicated mods to the busiest sections on the forum where the most violation of rules occur. So, whatever is done, a mod needs to be added to the wrestling forums.

And, if you really want mods to drive discussion in their appropriate sections, then we need more/different regular mods in the NWF. And they have to be mods who will try and create discussion outside of the Bar Room.

2 mods for the WS simply isn't enough. Norcal and I do most of the infracting in there already. The NWS has 3 mods and the WS has 2 which just doesn't make sense at all. Either shift one over or appoint Ricky/NoFate to Monkey's spot.

Ah, NOW, Sly, we are 100% on the same page. Amd KB as well.

Shango was promoted to NWS mod after the movie tournament in hopes that he'd drive the movies and music sections to new levels. I have not always seen that from him, so manybe that is something I should address.

I agree that at least 3 dedicated Wrestling Mods are needed, especially now. And it's not like we have budget concerns, as we do not pay them.

The wrestling sections are far busier than the NWS, for obvious reasons. Therefore it makes sense to have more wrestling moderators, to y'know moderate.

3-3 is a good split. 4-3 in favor of the wrestling sections would also work. Bear in mind, many of the G-Mods "moderate" the wrestling sections more.

Naturally. Give it to Nofate he's probably or best non-mod poster and I think its unfair he's not given a chance just because he doesn't post in the Bar Room that often.

Im not so sure adding another is necessary. Me and KB are basically wrestling mods anyhow, and we are both workhorses.
I find it amusing how you and KB both seem to ignore the work I put in to moderating the wrestling forums.

There is more to moderating than just infracting.

How do I ignore it??? I just simply said that becuase we are online a lot more.

goodness, just becuase I say something good about us doesnt mean I am discounting YOU. Jeezo im gonna have to start calling you TheOneBigSlyFox

Poor recovery. Why not just be a man and say "Yeah, Slyfox, you make a good point." Would that really be so hard?

:suckit:

Having more NWS mods is silly, especially because that's become easier to moderate, it used to be a lot worse, in my opinion. Regarding driving discussion, that's why we're amade mod in the first place, I know I was made mod because I actually bothered with the Chit Chat section. Sly was made a mod because he's the king of making threads to get people talking, whether he agrees with it or not. So we just carry on exactly as we did, but with powers to infract and delete spam as well.

I'm personally pushing for Ricky, he's great in WZCW, he's a great poster so deserves more than the e-fed, and I don't know where the idea of him being the same as Lee came up, but it's stupid, Ricky is mature enough to handle things, and when he isn't sure he always consults someone else, he's asked my opinion a few times.
