What To Do With Kaz & Chris Daniels?

These two just got off big spots on PPV. Daniels was in the main event and Kaz beat Samoa Joe. But as of late, the two have been Fortune's more unpopular characters. What can be done with them? At the moment a return to the X Division seems unlikely as the two seem to be above that right now and the scene being pretty tight. However so is every other scene in TNA right now. Where to go with these two? They displayed having disagreements not that long ago. Will this lead to the two feuding? Do you want it to lead there? Or is there something else for them to do in TNA that I haven't come up with?

You almost have to make this a sub-point to a "What To Do With Fortune" thread. Is there still a stable? Everyone seems to be doing their own thing, right down to Styles and Daniels actually competing against each other last night. That's not to say a stable ALWAYS has to appear together and be involved in each other's shit, but this is a pretty extreme version of the alternative.

Assuming there's still a Fortune, here's what I'd do:

Kaz - Should be involved in the X-Division title scene. Why he had to fight Joe last night and not take Robbie E's spot in the Ultimate X is beyond me, unless the point was that you didn't want him to lose Ultimate X so he could still have a legitimate claim on a title shot. "Kendrick vs. Kaz vs. Shelley" would be a pretty sweet match for the next PPV, right?

Daniels - How'd he REALLY feel about losing to AJ last night? I wouldn't mind a Daniels heel turn where he takes AJ out this week on Impact and says "friendship made him soft" or something like that. He could back to his more intense Fallen Angel gimmick and have a killer feud with Styles, then be set up to make a run at the X-Division title as a full-blown heel.

While I agree the match could be pretty good, wont Abyss be due a rematch? The only other thing that's a bit off-putting is that all 3 are faces, which isn't always a bad thing in itself, but after Destination X where the crowd saw a bunch of face heavy matches, it might be an idea to not continue that trend too much.

I think him and Joe could go again as it was in some ways an upset/surprising win considering how dominant Joe was for the majority of the match. That way it paves the way for Kendrick to potentially lose the title to Abyss (or Aries maybe?) and not have a 3-way face dance.

Daniels - How'd he REALLY feel about losing to AJ last night? I wouldn't mind a Daniels heel turn where he takes AJ out this week on Impact and says "friendship made him soft" or something like that. While Daniels can be a great heel, the problem I have with this is that it's been done numerous times before. However the flip-side of the coin is that we know it works and Daniels IS more interesting as a heel.

Wouldn't mind some sort of feud between Kaz and Daniels quite honestly but not sure who would be better suited for what role. If Kaz keeps getting plucky wins and Daniels becomes more of a 'nearly-man' then maybe Kaz goes cocky and makes noise about getting Daniels out of Fortune. Not really sure.

Impact doesn't really know what to do with these to characters. I really believe these guys need to be a big part of the x division. They can feud over the title. I wouldn't mind seeing them as a tag team. I think they would have great chemistry together. However, Impact has already shown that they have no interest in doing anything with Kaz or Daniels.

I don't know if Abyss will have that same rematch entitlement most other ex-champs would. The embarrassment of what happened last night could be enough to just make Bischoff give up on trying to kill the X-Division. If nothing else, he'd at least try something else and put Abyss back on the bench for failing. Besides, between Kendrick's promo last week and Abyss shoving Ray as he walked back up the ramp last night, I think Abyss is about to undergo some kind of transformation.

As for the three faces, that's a very fair point. I didn't mention this before but I was kind of assuming Shelley would start to go heel in that equation. We know he's a fantastic heel form the old Paparazzi Productions today. I know people would hate to see the MCMG split up, but who's to say that Sabin couldn't turn as well? With Beer Money going face now, it could make sense.

Seems like Joe's next storyline is going to be much more self-involved; his own issues and growth and breaking through whatever's holding him back right now. That's the way they're building it, at least. Not disagreeing with you that Kaz/Joe should continue, because that was a fantastic match. But I want to see Joe get back to being a face and that would be tough if he's going against another face in Kaz. The fans obviously want to cheer for him, so it's time to stop fighting it.

The worst thing you can do is back yourself into the corner of "we've seen that before" and leave a guy in an inferior role from what he does best. It seems they've done that with Matt Morgan lately. He's way better as a heel but they've jerked him around so much that now they're leaving him in a lesser face role.

Daniels not only needs to go heel for his own benefit, but to help with the numbers game in the company. You've got Sting, Angle, all of Fortune, Morgan, RVD, Crimson, Young, and about 80% of the X-Division as faces. The heel side needs Daniels just to give these guys someone to feud with. Not only that, but he instantly jumps up to the top three with Anderson and Bully Ray. That's a huge gain and you didn't even have to sign anybody.

Both guys are better as heels so that's a tough call. Kaz could point at Daniels loss to AJ or even his loss to Gunner a few months back, but Daniels could also point back at Kaz losing the X-Division title. Maybe a rivalry develops where the two eventually face in a "Loser Leaves Fortune" match, with AJ caught in the middle. Could be pretty cool.

I'd love to see a Daniels/Kaz fued especially if you can get Suicide to be the special guest ref at the next ppv lol.

But seriously I'd love to see them as a heel tag cuz they both suck as faces and then they could take the titles from Beer Money leadingthe way for Roode to go at it as a singles performer.

I hate to be the guy that says heel turn is the answer to everything, but in this case I feel it is.

I think Daniels should turn on AJ, and then after the feud return to the X-division. They are trying to rebuild the X-division, but they don't have a top X-division heel. I think Daniels should be the one in that role. Plus if Daniels turns Fortune can stay together, because he was never really a full blown member.

As for Kaz. If you keep him in Fortune as a face, you can easily throw him back into the X-division and rebuild around him, Daniels, Shelly, and Kendrick. IMO he was better as a heel, and I think when Ric Flair returns to TV he should be Kaz's manager. I think Kaz took to the cocky heel gimmick way better than AJ and I would like to see that continued. I think TNA should introduce a mid card title (TV title is garbage) and build a mid card division around Kaz. They guy has all the tools to be a big player in TNA.

I like this thread, well done OP.

Kazarian- he's great in the ring, but as far as an X Div guy guys, he's one of the larger members. In fact there was an explosion match Kaz vs. Angle. It was a great match and Kazaraian was actually bigger than Angle. Now in saying that, to me Kaz, looks like Antonio Banderas' in the Desperado movies. That character was a bad ass good guy who spoke softly and kicked butt. I think Kaz needs to drop this "mettalica" type thing he has and maybe do what John Morrison did and move towards more of a gimmick based character, than just being a fluro green generic tights wearing 'corner stone" of the X Division. Maybe wear a more spanish-type outfit, black jeans with red roses on the back pockets, or something along those lines, just to give him a bit of uniqueness..

Frankie needs to move beyond himself now and submerse himself in a character instead of being just a boring every man and he could actually go really far. Also Frankie, just a tip champ, hit the gym on your upper body mate.

It would be good for Kaz to continue his feud with Samoa Joe. And then move onto guys like Gunner and Bully Ray. Kazarain really does have potential to be a top tier good guy for the company.

Daniels - This guy (apart from height) has it all. He is probably then most giving, talented worker TNA and ROH have. He continuously puts people over time and time again. I think it's time Daniels got some back. He is SO over in the Impact Zone it's not a question. They appreciate his style, skill and that he is an original.

I think he could be the Chris Beniot/Bret hart/ Owen Hart type guy your company needs. A technician based, an expert in all styles type guy that can defeat you in a million different ways. Daniels should be that guy that his opponent has to be careful at all times. He does needs some wins under his belt, (I wish he defeated Styles at D-X it would meant more for him than the win for Styles) and really become that guy on the roster who wrestles and makes wrestling matter. Kurt Angle is known as a wrestler but he is so far up the chain that he has gone beyond being a mat technician.

Daniels on the other hand can be great. I liked when Hulk Hogan called him "Mr Super Hero". TNA can use that as Daniels does soar through the air all the time and has his Fallen Angel ring gear and look. I would go with that for awhile, have him in feuds with the Pope to build up Pope, and in strong programs with guys like Gunner and maybe even Steiner. Then once he has been seen as a stronger force, turn him heel. But don't turn on Styles because that's been done to death, but it would be Kurt Angle. A Daniels vs. Angle program would rock as now both men are positioned as the best wrestlers in the company.

Put em in a tag team. Alone neither will go anywhere. Together we might have something that TNA can find a way to make work. Fortune is going to need a new group tag team. I always thought it was going to be AJ and Kaz but Kaz and Daniels would be a fun team to watch too.

What to do with them?

Suicide

You ever seen a Superman, Batman, Spiderman or Iron Man cartoon?

Then someone else not Clark, Bruce, Parker or Stark uses the costume to protect the identity?

Suicide runs in and costs AJ Styles a #1 contender match and then have someone in Immortal claim they know the identity of Suicide (great build) then "its one of your friends" (build) thus tearing apart at Fortune in the vignettes.

This is where it gets interesting because you can turn anyone in Fortune (obviously Kaz & Daniels have BOTH been Suicide) or you can not turn any of them as a returning Matt or Jeff Hardy was actually in the costume, but this isn't until after the storyline has built over 2/3 PPVs
