What to do with Cruiserweights and the UK Championship during Wrestlemania Weekend?

First off, the UK Championship match has no business being on the main card. Now that we got that out of the way, what do you think the chances are we see the title being defended at all on WrestleMania weekend?

One idea that I think could be a good idea is to have an event before NXT Takeover: Orlando, maybe at WrestleMania Axxess. Build up anywhere from 4-6 matches from 205 Live and the UK (although they have no show yet) and have this card take place there, then Takeover happens at the Amway Center.

With WWE liking to get everybody on the card, this might be the best way to do so. Especially with the roster expanding, (potentially more even more with more regional champions) it's going to be very hard going forward. You have the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, but if it's full of 205 Live guys and UK guys, it's a very watered down battle royal. I think you can have a handful of Cruiserweights in there, but that's it. I wouldn't do any UK guys just yet. And even the Kickoff Show for Mania should be reserved for the main roster as with all the championships and rivalries going on, it's easy to see 12+ matches taking place on WM day.

How would you tackle this issue? Is a WrestleMania Axxess event a good idea? Maybe just adding a UK Championship match to Takeover? What do you think?

The Cruiserweightsecond ain't getting on the main card. The best you can hope for is a well built match for the pre-show. Give me Neville vs. Zayn, twenty minutes and a fairly full arena and I'll take that now.

The UK Championship is a separate entity. I see Bates just being shown in the crowd at most.

Let me clarify something: I also do not think the Cruiserweights should be involved at WM other than maybe TJ Perkins, Brian Kendrick, a non-injured Tajiri, and Rich Swann (if he isn't in the championship match.) And even then, they should be in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at most if there isn't a multi-man Cruiserweight Championship match.

Neville will be in the title match as either champion or challenger, and hopefully against Austin Aries. But even that will probably be on the Kickoff show. Outside of these handful of talents, nobody else on 205 Live should be used on WM day. That's why I ask if there should be a mini-event at Axxess shown on the Network with 205 Live/UK talent on it to get everybody involved on WM weekend like McMahon likes to do.

The UK Championship, based on what we've been told so far, is an entity separate from WWE proper in that it was created to be the central part in a weekly wrestling TV show to be filmed in the UK with all the wrestlers being from the UK, or possibly other European countries. As a result, it'll probably not be on WrestleMania whatsoever and it probably shouldn't be. I see this UK TV show as sort of another aspect of WWE's developmental program in which the wrestlers will work there for a time and, depending upon how WWE officials feel, will eventually be moved either to the main or NXT rosters. If Bate is still champ by then, introduce him to the fans, have him make an appearance, maybe do something in which Pete Dunne sneaks out from under the ring or comes up out of the crowd in street clothes, ambushes Bate, beats the crap out of him and "ruins" Bate's first WrestleMania moment.

As for the Cruiserweight Championship, I'd say it'll most likely be as part of the kickoff show. I'd rather there be a one on one match for the CW title and do a big multi-man spot fest for the other CW wrestlers. If Neville is champion or challenger, then not being on the main WrestleMania card could be another reason to keep with this "chip on his shoulder" thing going on since he's the "King of the Cruiserweights."

Here goes nothing...

The Cruiserweights should have a multi man title match in the pre-show or curtain jerker. That was nothing too creative or interesting.

Here's my big idea not knowing much about this new title, the new WWE UK division, or the UK in general....

Assuming WM starts with a preshow at 6pm Eastern, that is 11pm Greenwich. Have a UK WM that starts at 8pm and goes for two and a half hours. Send some under utilized talent (Neville, Cesaro, Sheamus) to work the event as a special attraction. Allow your fans to purchase WWE themed pajamas and spend the evening in the venue after the UK Mania watching WM in their seats. Have some of the UK talent stay for the whole event and meet the fans that paid to stay. Either bus people to public transportation when the event ends at 4am or let them sleep in their seats. Sell them £40 pancakes in the morning.

Clearly I haven't worked out the details. It may not even be legal. It may not even make money. I don't know, but it feels kind of cool. I wouldn't watch since it is not for me as I find Mania too long as it is but it might get the UK fans who don't have the money to fly to Orlando to get invested in this new product.

You wouldn't do it Vince! You wouldn't take a chance like Vince! Coward!!!!!!!

Want to do something with the UK Title? Make a deal with WCPW, and put Tyler Bate vs. Pete Dunne, Trent Seven or Noam Dar on their card in Orlando. You will give them a chance to fight for the belt before a live crowd that KNOWS who Bate, Seven, Dunne and Dar are. You can always air THAT match on the WWE Network AND you can say that the UK Title was defended during WM Week.

What to do with the wrestlers that you may not have use for? Bring Curt Hawkins into the office, and ask him if his WrestlePro show would like two or more WWE Superstars for that card. Let Tony Nese and Lince Dorado wrestle on their card. You are not going to use them except before passersby at WM AllAxxess. Let them wrestle before a card that would welcome them with open arms.

There are lots of places where you can loan out unused talent. Use it and keep everyone happy.
