What Moves Has WWE Banned?

Brilliance In Supremacy

Getting Noticed By Management
I totally understand WWE's intention of keeping it safe in the ring. But banning moves has definitely taken away from the quality of matches and the potential of wrestlers. Does anyone know what moves the WWE has banned (or modified to make it simpler)?

If this is a straight question, then it belongs in the Ask a Question thread.

I personally don't know of too many moves that have been banned, except different variations of the piledriver (except Taker's Tombstone), the vertebreaker (Hurricane/Shane Helms), and the Shooting Star Press.

...which is a variation of the Shooting Star Press.

I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine most moves that drives the opponents' head straight to the ground are banned, too:

Death Valley Driver (which explains why Cena changed the FU to a elevated Fireman's Carry).

Brainbuster

Not sure if the DDT was banned, but I haven't seen it for quite some time.

My bad if I made it an individual thread. It's just that I thought it would spawn some worthy discussion.

The moves that I rarely see anymore are any of the drivers. Did they ban the shooting star because Brock injured himself doing it?

no ddt isnt banned but that piledriver that owen hart did is cus he broke stone colds neck or some shit doin it

i know the pile driver is banned, and i hope khalis stupid karate chop thing is banned, becasue it doesn't do shit, but im also wondering why is the closed fist thing banned..?

That and Billy Kidman giving Chavo Guerrero a concussion after he landed the wrong way with the SSP.

because guys would get hurt all the time if they took closed fist punches to the head

ddt may hav been banned as a move directly but is used as a reversal against superheavyweights. i saw shawn michaels do it to big show and on sum ecw show kane nearly scored a near fall after reversing big shows chokeslam into a ddt.

Actually the closed fist thing has always been banned. That is just a rule of wrestling in general. In wrestling bouts, all wrestlers are supposed to use an open hand thrust or slap or their forearms. This has been a rule since the old days of kayfabe, so that people wouldn't question the legitimacy of the fights, i.e. how can they take all those punches and not get concussed after lengthy periods when in boxing even with gloves they get knocked out. Fists are used occassionally to make it look more brutal but the punches rarely connect with enough force to cause any damage.

Paul London's Double moonsault.
Rey's West Coast Pop.
Shane Helms's Vertebreaker
Any pildriver other than the tombstone
All front and rear mounted drivers
Shooting Star Press
450, 540, 630 degree splashes
Variations of the brain-buster.
Use of springboard moves has been limited.
Use of inzughiri (no idea how to spell it) has been limited.
and im not sure about this one but I suspect Booker T's Missile Dropkick.

Theres a few other things too, but cant think of them off the top of my head.

The DDT is not banned cause Tommy Dreamer uses it every week on ECW matter of fact it's a Spiked DDT called the "Dreamer DDT" but i didn't know the DVD was banned also i noticed Lashley doesn't do the "Dominator" anymore so to quote a gimmick from the past..."what's up wit that?...":wtf:

the tombstone pildriver has also been limited and they wouldn't even let justin credable do his spinning tombstone the thats incredable also 450,moonsaults,shooting star press, and the vanterminater have just been limited not banned kid kash and chavo use brainbusters as there finishers and the ddt is always used the moves i know are banned is the pildriver and the vertebreaker the west coast pop is also use alot

probably but i do remember china giving jericho the pepsi plunge one time in wwe

isnt the pepsi plunge a top rope Pedigree? if it is, i suspect due to it being so similar to Triple-H's finisher (well, it is the same, only from a different place) they'll have prevented him from using it, as you don't often see two workers having the same finisher unless they're a tag team

West Coast Pop isn't banned. And It's Booker's Harlem Hangover. HE attempted it at ECW but RVD moved. (Its a flipping Leg Drop)
