How can you not like Tommy Dreamer? He legitimately cares about his fans and always tries to put on a good show in matches. Sure some of his emotional promos about ECW can be annoying sometimes, and he loses a lot of matches.... but, so what? When you look past those two things you have a good wrestler who a lot of people like. His character is someone that can be related to and unlike some of his peers he actually cares. All of his runs have been memorable whether it was in ECW where he was at his best, in WWE where he put over many, or in TNA where he currently is. People like because they relate to his character, appreciate what he does, and love seeing him in hardcore matches. That's what's so good about Tommy Dreamer.
He's a hard worker. That's about it. Tommy Dreamer is like a really poor man's Hulk Hogan. No matter what, people cheer for him. Even if he's in the floor crying like a baby. Which is most of the time as of late. People always bill him as the guy who kept ECW together even though he had almost no impact in the actual wrestling aspect. People just eat it up. Each and every single time. And when that doesn't work, he busts out his thank you list. And then cries. Not much good to us smarks.

Really to me Dreamer is decent in the ring. His mic skills aren't terrible and he is probably the best hardcore wrestler ever.
With that being said, a lot of people like him because you can relate with him. He is just a plain guy. He comes out in sweats and a t-shirt and just fights. His promos aren't genious like The Rock's were, he just tells it like it is. He says it just like a normal guy would. He makes us relate to him and thats why people love him.

I agree...Dreamer has the biggest heart and guts in the business. But to me as of right now, he's starting to look like the ECW version of Flair almost. Thank goodness he's leaving his shirt on at least. However, as much heart and soul he has/had, I think there's a time and place for everything, and to me, with the sudden departures of Raven, Sabu, and the fact that EV2.0 is pretty much washed up, and Rhyno turning on him, its time to go to the back and be management or creative or something. I'm not discrediting what he's given to the wrestling business as a whole, but after a while, you need to realize that once your legacy becomes a joke after repeating your old angles in another company, there's no way you can salvage it other than watching old dvds of yourself. I admit, I am someone who didn't want to give up after he left WWE, but then seeing the resurrection of ECW in TNA, I thought "Great...this is good." Then you see the angle this started getting into, and pretty soon, I became disenchanted, and realized "This is a bigger debacle than the way the 'politics' others within their group referenced after leaving WWE." I really had hoped Dreamer would've learned better after leaving WWE and would take time off and enjoy the time with his family, heaven knows that his body has been through hell and high water. His kids are so young and he could really benefit from a more backstage role instead in my opinion.

For one, he was an ECW Champion both in the original and WWE version. And two, I think people like him because he is a guy who gives it all. That is why there are IWC supporters of John Cena. He works hard, so he has their respect same as Dreamer. granted Dreamer has never and will never give you a mat classic. But he puts everything into matches, hes a wonderful brawler, and he tells a great story in the ring. Go back to this sick bastards early days in ECW when he got his ass beat with the kendo stick by Sandman. Or even recently when he wrestled for like 5 minutes with his wrist bone popped out his skin!
