Pre-Show Stalwart
So right now ALOT of changes have been going on in amongst the WWE. You have Vince being 'fired' as owner of the company and 'replaced' by his son-in-law, Triple H. You have CM Punk 'stealing' the WWE Championship from WWE and leaving. A Tournament to declare the new Champion which might not even be resolved and build-up to one of the biggest matches in Pro Wrestling history, John Cena vs. The Rock. The penultimate event stated there is of course Rock/Cena which takes place at WrestleMania 28. But what about the rest of the event. We do not know of that but this is what I would do with matches and build-ups to what I would call, WrestleMania: Past vs. Future.
So Rock and Cena is already made and build-up is looking good conceding that Rock is somehow too busy to turn up for some Raw shows. The two have taken their rivalry on to Twitter where they mouth of on one another. Now here's what I have in mind for the biggest event of the year. How about we have past guys such as The Rock return. Now I know that a lot of former wrestlers wouldn't be in too good a shape to compete so throw in some non-concept bouts such as a World Title match. Here's what I would do at WrestleMania 28:
John Cena vs. The Rock
This is already written into stone. We know this is going to happen (unless Rock can't make it due to another Disney film). On one hand you have Cena who some call the leader of the PG era. However, to those who say he caused it I have to disagree. Do not knock the PG era either, I mean like JR has said on countless ocassions it can be very edgy. And speaking off commentary how about we have 2 announcers tables featuring Bobby ' The Brain ' Heenan and JR on one team and the other Michael Cole and bring back JBL or Tazz. They call the action with a hint of being biased. Different announcers, Lilian Garcia returns. Now back to Cena/Rock - This could be one hell of a match if both guys are up to it. Of course no match for Indy wrestling but will be possibly the biggest wrestling match of all time in terms of money making. Lets see if Cena can pull off what one half of the fans would call an upset or not.
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. CM Punk
We know how much Punk wants this to happen and to be honest I thoroughly believe its happening. Punk can obviously play cat and mouse with WWE stating this and that about the company and that he wants this and that if he resigns. HHH who of course is now 'in charge' keeps questioning whether or not to allow this. Punk is in the middle of a promo when the Glass breaks and out comes Stone Cold in his old kickass attire. Just imagine the vibe given off by the fans, the announcers and the two superstars themselves the moment we see the two stare at one another. It would be out of this world. Because at that moment we would know what was coming. And this whole moment HAS to be done in Stone Cold's hometown as we saw what wonders it does to capturing a once in a lifetime moment at Money in the Bank. Austin simply says he wants to fight Punk right at that very moment he doesn't care when. Punk says he wants the match at Mania. If he wins he will resign. (This way we can see Punk continue to be on TV and piss off Stone Cold) Stone Cold can continue to make part-time appearances. For me this would be bigger than Rock/Cena.
The Undertaker vs. Alberto Del Rio
Alberto Del Rio becomes WWE Champion and loses it the PPV after he has one it. He claims that he has done what a lot of guys could not do in his first and second year of being in the WWE. He has one the WWE Title, won the Mitb briefcase, Retired a future hall of famer and won the Royal Rumble. He claims it his destiny to win at WrestleMania. He says he could beat anyone that walks down that aisle so whoever wants to face him at Mania come to the ring now and lose to Del Rio at Mania. Out comes The Undertaker who states slowly Nobody has ever beaten me. But, some have wounded me. Triple H last year was the closest anyone has ever come and if it is Del Rio's destiny to win at WrestleMania then he must face Taker to see if it truly is. They have a couple of promo's here and there leading up to the event with Del Rio claiming Taker is nothing but a phony. This would be massive for WWE in Mexico and North America. The two could put on a spectacle depending if Taker is fully fit to compete.
William Regal vs. Wade Barrett
This would be appeasing because of the two's heritage and background. Both from the UK would draw attention from my homeland if they were willing to really push this as a hot feud. Maybe Barrett claims that Regal is jealous of the success he has had and that there can only be one top British WWE Superstar. Regal is now face and claims that Barrett has achieved nothing but his face on TV. Regal has been doing this for years and never got recognition he deserved. Barrett uses the fact Regal has not won a World Title to get under his skin. Could be one of those matches that somehow are remembered for a long while.
Chris Jericho vs. The Miz - WWE Championship
I've had this one in mind for a long while. It actually is eligible to be part of both concepts. Jericho is of course part of the Attitude Era and so fits the bill in terms of being part of the Legends side. The WWE Title could be on the line because unlike the other Attitude Era guys, Jericho can continue wrestling afterward. This feud begins when Miz wins the title. Jericho returns at the Royal Rumble and chooses to face Miz at mania. You're simple rivalry with Jericho claiming that Miz has become him showing the arrogance he showed before he decided to save us all from Miz. Miz claims to put an end to Jericho's pathetic gimmick. Could be a real shocker in terms of interest. I love both guys and they both are good on mic. Great friends in real life would have great chemistry.
Other matches that could take place -
Chyna vs. Kharma or Lita and Trish Stratus vs. Kelly Kelly and Eve
Daniel Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels (would have to be 100% certain that this his final match)
Jake ' The Snake ' Roberts vs. Randy Orton (Depending on Roberts in-ring capability)
