the 3 Stages of Hell match? Those things were friggin' epic. Why did we never see Taker vs. Edge in one of those? Or even Taker vs. Batista. Can we ever expect to see one of those ever again? And when even was the last one? It's been so long I can't even remember. They've even taken them off of the SvR games. I was disappointed by that since they put the inferno match back in, and to me... that was the most boring gimmick match ever.

I believe we can. But we need a feud worthy of one to wrap up in 3SOH match. I think if Smackdown's creative can somehow book it right, I'd like to see Taker vs. Christian Cage in one. (I hope he keeps that name when he re-debuts since he did trademark the name himself and Christian is too reminicent of The Brood and Edge and Christian days. He needs to be focused on as a serious singles contender.) I've kept up with Christian when he was in TNA and went to their Hard Justice ppv in 08 and Christian was pretty much amazing. He works the stick better than anyone, and he's at best when he's a heel.

That's my two cents. When was the last 3SOH match? And does anyone think we can see another one?

I believe the last Three Stages Of Hell was at Armageddon 2002 between Shawn Michaels and Triple H where Shawn lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Triple H.

Triple H won the first fall which was a street fight
Shawn won the second fall which was a steel cage
Triple H won the third fall which was a ladder match

I think that's right, I just don't have the time to look on the internet and other websites for it. I think it's about time that we could have one, because it's been a while, but the thing is, they can't be used to often otherwise the impact of one is decreased each time one is announced just like the steel cage which I think is over used, perhaps once a year or so. I wouldn't rule out never seeing one ever again though.

I guess it's perhaps because most of the big gimmick matches just merge into one these days anyway. TLC is like 3 matches in one, HIAC may as well be a culmination of cage, street fight, LMS and last year they added all the TLC elements to HIAC!

They probably didn't have Taker in a 3SOH match because he's injury prone enough as it is. They'll throw him into countless gimmick matches yes, but not one of those proportions.

3SOH seems to be another match that has gotten lost in the shuffle. We don't have ron Man matces anymore, or Submission only matches, or strap matches or I Quit matches or Buried Alive matches or Falls Count Anywhere matches anymore, so i guess you can add 3SOH to the list as well.

I'm glad we don't get them that often. becouse when we do they are great. nobody really cares if a hardcore match or a ladder match is announced. why? Becouse they get done to death. who gets the last piece of chicken? oh lets put it above the ring and have a ladder match to decide.

I think we will see another one but hopefully it won't be just for a small fued. I would of loved to see the HBK vs Jericho fued end with a three stages of hell. or even now an Edge vs Hardy...

Not true. We had a FCA match at ONS with Jeff Hardy and Umaga but i cant remember having the I quit match but i know we have ahd one recently like in the last 2 years or so.

Anyways i loved this match. HHH and HBK was the last one but there were plenty of good ones before that. Like the Austin and HHH one or even the Angle and Benoit one. I don't know why they got rid of this match. Is it because Vince is very worried about the superstars now or could it just be because they think it wa to long? What ever it is i hope they bring it back. I don't know who they could put in there but people like Edge and John Cena could last. Jeff Hardy and Christian could last and so on. I really hope they bring this back. Was one of my favourite matchs . But i must agree it shouldn't be used like the steel cage match is now. It should be more like the HIAC were it takes from 7 months till 1 and a half years for it to be done again.

More than likely, I expect to see "Captain Charisma" back in the ring, but as far as the 3 stages of hell, I'd expect to see Jeff Hardy vs Christian, especially if he's responsible for Jeff Hardy's "accidents"... At least I'd LIKE to see them in it...

Yes we did have a FCA match at ONS, which was about 7 months ago, and can you remember the one before that?

Also, we supposedly had an I Quit Match between Melina and Beth Phoenix at the same event, but it was basically jst a submission match, because the thwo didn't use a single foreign object throughout the match.

I dont know what happened to them. But they really need to utilize it more. Not all the time. But more than they have. The one with Austin and HHH was the shit, and so was the HBK vs HHH one. Both freaking badass. But they are mostly for the serious fueds and they are the perfect way to end the feud. Especially if they have had three or four matches prior. This is three fucking matches rolled into one Each of the three matches can be whatever they need to be. Cage, ladder, last man standing. It doesnt matter. This is the definitive feud ender in my opinion. At least nowadays. Before it used to be the cage match. Most recently it has been the Hell in a Cell. Now I think its time that they make this the almighty feud ender.

Great points. I agree it should come back, it's the perfect main event. I'm glad it hasn't been overused to degrade it, but it's been 6.5 years now, which makes me wonder if it will come back. Hell in a Cell is a 1x year thing, TLC can be used multiple times if well spread out and well done. It'd be nice if it was brought back, but i'd like to only see it at a WM or SS main event.

3 Stages of Hell Matches are indeed epic, but they should only be utilized to cap off a great feud, settle a score, ect. if the match gets utilized too much it diminishes the match, like when Hardcore matches happened every week. I would like to seem them utilized more but there were only a few recent feuds that deemed worthy of a 3 stages of hell such a HBK/Jericho.

Nope i think the last FCA match was in like 2001 or something, I am glad they brang that back. The I-quit match was shit tho.

Anyways further on in 2010 i feel they will bring it back just because they will realise how good the actual match was. Plus they will have even better feuds to put in there. Like CM Punk and John Morrison could go in their because they are both young and they could both be in a match for that long. Plus you have rising up and comign stars like Evan Bourne and The Miz, Even Jack Swaggre could be in their.

The last FCA match was Chavo vs. Rey Mysterio. Don't remember the pay-per-view it was at but I know there was one. There was also a three stages match between Foley and Flair. It wasn't any good tho.

IMO I think a couple of big spot guys could really pull off a 3SOH match. Guys like Bourne, Benjamin, Morrison, Mysterio, etc... Could have some huge spots off ladders and cages and the cell. Their bodies probably couldn't handle it but the match would be so huge that they would deserve a break. I think that with a HUGE feud, this match could be 5-star worthy.

Three stages of hell matches should be rare. That way when they do occur, it'll actually be worth it. I agree with people saying it should only be put in place to end a huge feud. And I mean big feud, not a random month long feud. Take a look at the HHH/HBK feud that ended in a three stages of hell match. Everyone wanted to see that match, everyone wanted to see the end of the feud.

The only problem I have with this type of match is you know it'll go down to the third fall. So with that in mind, you have to make sure you have the right wrestlers (entertainers?) in the match. You'll need someone to be able to go as long as the match can go. IMO, I wouldn't just want to see a match with big spots (alas, Benjamin/Bourne).

I think a few elements contribute to the lack of 3 Stages of Hell. As many people said, the Hell in a Cell match has elements of Cage, Street Fight, TLC etc. The WWE has so many gimmicks now they don't want to have a 2 Stages when they can instead resort to Hell in a Cell. It also has something to do with the stamina. People say it about LMS, but a Three Stages match would be tough and most wrestlers really arn't up to it. They also take up alot of time, and the WWE isn't willing to give up a huge part of their Pay-Per-View for a single match, no matter how good it might be. That is another reason they resort to Hell in a Cell. It can be alot shorter than this or a LMS match. So they will probably come back someday, but I think they need to first get a good fued rolling that might warrant one, and then make sure there is enough interest to use up one third of a show.
