What are the chances Sting signs a Bret Hart type deal with WWE?

oh ya... i 4got about HBK.. well im not sure how close they are but if they indeed did creat a friendship then ya i guess he might go if it was to face shawn... but again he would have a personal reason

i dont think he has any grudge against any of the WWE wrestlers though its like u said, if he doesnt like WWE why would he wanna go to somewhere he hates to face guys like cena? does he have anything to prove by facing cena? or any of the others i mentioned?.. not really... though maybe he would go to end takers streak.. i dont see what wrestler wouldnt want to be the one who ended it.. then again i think sting believes he deosnt have anything else to prove (wich is true) so him going to end takers streak is an even slimmer chance than going to face flair or HBK...

Of course if Sting did face Taker at Mania, knowing how classy the guy is, he would probably insist on jobbing to Taker so his streak could continue.

I personally agree with you in that Sting doesn't have anything to prove against someone like Cena. Though I would personally love to see it happen. Too me Cena reminds me of the early '90s Sting. Maybe that's just me though.

Maybe Cena will come back with black ring attire and white face paint, and start kicking ass with a baseball bat. lol
Sting vs. Taker would be an absolutely phenomonal matchup. Just talking about this and knowing that there's virtually no chance of it ever happening makes me sad.
That would be better than than him facing flair. Flair vs. Sting we've all seen before. Sting vs. Taker or Sting vs. HBK would be something we've never seen before, and the very definition of a dream match. Well, let's just hope it happens, and follows up better than Angle/Sting "dream match". You know the one TNA decided to put on TV and ended in a DQ.

WWE can try to sign Sting, but (unlike Shawn Michaels) his morals aren't for sale. While Shawn turns away on some things when they happen, Sting hates that they are even booked to happen in the first place. Sting likes the fact that TNA has born again guys in Russo and Jarrett. And he likes the fact that Spike TV mandates that no male on females violence take place, no matter how dark a character someone is supposed to be. He will probably take the holidays to decide and make up his mind, but if he doesn't resign then he will retire. WWE could ask him to do a HOF appearance because he is truly an icon. But unless they plan to change the way they book, then he will never set foot in a WWE ring. I'll put 5 pounds sterling on it right now to any man that wants to take that action.

Is that really why Sting won't wrestle for WWE? I did not know that. Well, that severely decreases the already slim chances of it ever happening. There is no chance that Vince McMahon will change WWE's way of booking just to get one guy to wrestle for him. Maybe when WWE was in the midst of the ratings war, and was in significant trouble, then he may have at least toned down some of the things that would have drawn Sting's ire. But definitely not now, for one maybe two years of work. Damn, it would have been awesome to have seen Sting in a WWE ring. But some things just aren't meant to be.

No ofeense to anyone here, but mixing religion with wrestling is a load of bollocks. You go out and hurt people, real or fake. No matter how you dress it up, its still violence.

I guess because Sting and HBK can throw money at the churches they visit, the pastor or whatever can say "Yes, your not commiting a sin, blahblah"

So, are you saying that any actor in an action movie can't be religious? Anyone who competes in MMA can't be religious? Are you saying that any musician that talks about violence can't be religious? That anyone who photographs war photos cannot be religious?

Hell, when did this notion that being religious can't co-exist with violence. Have you ever actually read the Bible? Have you ever studied the history of the times that Bible writes about? Have you never heard of the Crusades, or the Inquisition or the numerous other times religion has brought about violence?

Wrestling is an entertainment medium, that simulates violence and aggression. There is nothing to suggest that one cannot be religious and be a professional wrestler.

And this nonsense that HBK sells out his religion or that Sting is a hypocrite because of his religion is completely ridiculous. Who are you to tell Sting or HBK how to believe?

People who want to criticize a wrestler because they are proud of their religious beliefs will be people I will never understand.

And, considering Sting just signed a new contract, I'd say it's unlikely he'll sign a WWE deal any time soon.

And who are you to tell me what to believe in? All I said was my view(in a public forummind), that I believe that guys that simulate violence but then have a problem with the wrestling show itself (such as adult content or women being "attacked as part of the show) are a little bit hypocritical.

Guys can believe what they want to believe a guess, its when people take a stand on one side of the fence and critisize the other is when trouble starts.

As for this history of the bible speech, I was brought up a Christian(till I got to the age of 8 I guess, then I made up my own mind on religion) so I know most of the bible stories

Ok I have a question for you, what in the flying fuck does this have to do with the chances of Sting signing a Bret Hart type deal with WWE?, I thought that was what this thread was about, and your rant on religion in wrestling has nothing to do with that, it is a completely different subject

As for Sly's response, I don't see anywhere in there where he tells you what to believe in, I actually agree with him, I think that he is 100% right, how is Mel Gibson going out and makeing a Lethal Weapon movie then going to church or whatever, and different than what HBK and Sting do, I don't know if you've noticed this but HBK actually has the right to turn down anything he feels crosses the line between him and his religion, if he finds it offensive, he doesn't do it, I'm sure Sting is the same way

As for making your mind up at age 8 about religion, well at age 8 you probably don't know shit about religion, cause for the most part all the teach you is the children friendly verions of all those Bible Stories, how about you go and read the actual bible, the one with all the real stories in it, not watered down and kid friendly, and a word of advice next time you make a post like that, you know one where you type "I hope I don't offend anyobody but..." expect someone to come in and respond

I agree with what I have said and will stand by it. However, some people will find that offensive so I deleted my posts I realised I was being a naughty boy by taking the side of the atheist and lambasting Religion.

And for the reckon, It wasnt the watered down version. I aim to read the Qu'ran sometime, though the bits I have read so far seem the same as the Bible.

Religion is a funny old game, however, I will keep my views on religion out of this forum and focus on the wrestling.

Well never fear, a Sting DVD is in the works for a December 2008 release by the WWE.

So this means a few things. Look for the WWE to try and bait Sting into signing a deal mid way through the year. This is Sting's legacy we're talking about. I highly, highly doubt we will see this turn into a "Self Destruction of Sting" DVD. Flair and Michaels are close to Sting, and they are in Triple H's ear. Plus, why ruin a relationship that doesn't exist. Sting one day will be in the WWE in one way shape or form, don't fuck it up.

I see Sting taking the deal myself, and this DVD getting pushed back so the man himself can do what he chooses with it. If he is serious about in ring retirement, then it's a perfect opportunity for him. I could possibly, possibly see the WWE doing this because they want him to be their main attraction for the HOF at WM25. Personally, I am excited about this.

To me the two greatest aspects of the industry left is the Undertaker's 'Mania Streak and the fact Sting has never signed with WWF/WWE. I hope that these two things stay intact until the end of btoh careers. Not because I wouldn't love to see Sting in WWE - the pop would be bone chilling, but more because Sting was WCW and while all the other guys came over, he did not, I would hate to see it happen so many years down line

In all honesty, even if they could, it would be too late to bring Sting to WWE. The guy is almost 50 years old and is looking to retire within the next year or so. Having Sting around isn't going to do anything for anybody, the result would probably be the equivalent of Goldberg's WWE run; meaningless and forgettable.

Sting would never be in WWE, he said it himself. I know a lot of the guys that originally said that went back on it in a second, Sting has kept himself away from Vince.

Like RoyalSkull said anyway, he's would be too old to wrestle by the time he ever went to WWE.
