What are some the most underated feuds in wwe history

Dark Match Winner
In my opinion one feud that i thought was underated that isnt talked about to this day is the USA vs Canada fued back in 1997, with The Hart Foundation basically goin against Austin, Hbk, Undertaker, Ken Shamrock, Vader, and Goldust or so say americans, and which that fued ended at the infamous Survivor Series 97.

I mean what yall guys think

I really really really enjoyed the Cena/Edge feud. Edge was at his PRIME and the best heel in the business. Cena had just started his supercena gimmick so it wasn't old and it was actually interesting. Lita made it all that much better. I loved that feud!

The feud between Legacy. Randy Orton was a major heel and you could understand the agony he was in with Ted & Cody. You almost awaited the RKO to Rhodes or DiBiase. You didnt want to cheer for Orton, but you understood why you did. They cost him 2 title matches and were becoming distant from their loyalty to Orton. This was a very underrated feud because some say it took too long to happen but I think stretching a feud for a year between 3 guys is perfect timing for a breakup. On a side note, I hate how they are breaking up Nexus with Orton just punting them every week. They could redo this storyline of loyalty since that is what Nexus stood for anyways

Hmmm, the Edge and Christian feud back in the fall of 2001 is pretty underrated IMO. You had a jealous Christian turning on his (kayfabe) brother after the latter won the KOTR. Christian then defected to the Alliance, and the pair exchanged the Intercontinental Championship over the course of the feud which culminated at yet another underrated ladder match at No Mercy, although the feud actually ended at Rebellion.

However, this is the reason why people are hungry and begging for another feud between the two but I don't see many actually mentioning this feud which makes it pretty underrated IMO.

I believe that the MVP/Matt Hardy feud was very underrated. A lot of people know that I for the life of me can't stand Matt Hardy but this feud was just awesome. MVP played one of the best heels in Smackdown history. They kept going back and forth in these ridiculous challenges. I know it's a recycled angle that's been used a thousand times but when they won the tag team titles together I marked out. They even brough in Evander Holyfield for that feud at the Saturday Night Main event. It's a shame that Hardy got hurt because I would have loved to see that feud have a proper ending.

Chris Jericho Vs Christian going into Wrestlemania 20. They went from being a tag team which held the WWE Tag Team Championships to betting over who could fuck Lita or Trish first, Chris went after Trish and when she seemed to be falling for him, Christian attacked Trish and even once locked her in the Walls of Jericho. Chris went crazy and they booked the match for Mania.

They had an awesome match at Wrestlemania and had a great swerve with Trish turning on Jericho and costing him the match, as well as kissing Christian.

Backlash also featured a great match between the two, and then the after Backlash match ended it for a bit, but if it hadn't, the feud would have continued to own. Sadly in a steel cage Christian got injured, but even the cage match was awesome.

Seriously underrated feud. Here's a glimpse

theres 2 for the Kurt Angle vs Stone Cold feud which started with both men fighting for vince's effection and then Austin turned on the WWE and joined the Alliance and these wrestled from SummerSlam 2001 all the way to the end of the year.

Stone Cold vs Undertaker through 1998/1999 these fought eachother most of this period it started at KOTR 98 by Taker costing Austin the WWF title in a first blood match against Kane, then they had a match at SummerSlam 1998, then Taker revealed that him and Kane are working together to take Austin's WWF title from then at Breakdown 1998 it was Kane vs Undertaker vs Austin with both Kane and Undertaker pinning Austin. then had a Buried Alive match at RockBottom which to me a great build up to the match, After this Undertaker went away for a while and came back with the Ministry of Darkness and Austin and Taker contiuned their feud at Over the Edge which taker won the title off Austin and then the feud contiuned at Fully Loaded in a first blood so for me the Austin/Undertaker feud is just as exciting as the Rock/Austin feud if you dont believe me just watch the bulid up to their matches on YouTube.

Gonna go old school and say the Hercules Hernandez/Billy Jack Haynes full nelson feud. It doesn't sound like much now, but back then it was an intriguing storyline and they made it work well. For a couple of power guys they kept the pace decent enough in their Mania III match to keep it from being boring and you could tell (especially when Haynes was breaking out of Herc's full nelson) that the crowd was pretty into the match.

Edge vs Kurt Angle - 2002

This feud had a series of aweosme promos, matches, and segments. If I do recall, Kurt Angle had hair at the time, and he was balding. They had a hair vs hair match which Kurt Angle lost. He decided to shave his head bald. Anyway, Kurt Angle and Edge's matches together were fucking awesome. I remember back in the day I was cheering my ass off for Edge. But Kurt Angle always got the push, but with mic and wrestling skills like him, who wouldn't push him. Edge was great at both too. And I can't believe it took four more years for Edge to win his first champion! Anyway, Judgement Day and Backlash were the only two ppvs they had fought in. But the feud went on for a few months and they were statisfyingly long. But the feud in my opinion continued on as Edge teamed with Rey Mysterio as they went against Kurt Angle who teamed with Chris Benoit. In No Mercy as they battled for th first ever WWE Tag Team Championship match. The feud is now forgotten, but REAL fans of Kurt Angle and Edge remember it. Unless you started watching Kurt Angle and Edge late in the game.

How about the Trish Stratus/Victoria feud back in 2002....Diesel and Sid Vicious when he was part of the Million Dollar Corporation....RVD and Scotty Anton.....Rhyno and Sandman

I am going back oldschool, Paul Orndorff and Hogan was a vicious feud. Mr. Wonderfull, IMO, actually hated Hogan. The shots he gave were very stiff and Hogan even made comments that Wonderfull was on of the toughest opponents he ever faced. They had some classic matches, and I believe they never got the attention that it derserved.

I think the Kane vs X-Pac feud where they were both in love with Tori was brilliant.

I can remember one encounter where Kane was handcuffed in the corner, and X-Pac was in his face telling him about what he and Tori had got up to behind Kane's back, who had been Tori's boyfriend at the time.

It ended up with Kane having his hands around Tori's throat getting ready for a Chokeslam, with Paul Bearer encouraging him to do it. Kane eventually let her go with King announcing "He can't do it, he still loves her!" but then Kane grabbed her again, flipped her upside down and nailed the Tombstone Piledriver, leaving Tori lying in the ring.

Feuds like this were nowhere near the highest profile storylines the WWE were doing at the time, but it was still great. I would say this was 1999 or 2000, which is when nearly every member of the roster had a storyline, everyone was involved in something and this led to brilliant, must see TV.

A few come to mind:

Rey Mysterio vs. Tajiri- I find a lot of the Cruiserweight feuds tend to be underplayed overall even if Smackdown pushes it to some degree. I think it brought out the best in both performers, and it accentuated a very talented Cruiserweight pool.

Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin- 2 outstanding performers showcasing talent that should have helped cement an already flailing ECW brand.

RVD vs. Eddie Guerrero- not so much purely underrated as they missed a awesome chance for these 2 great talents at the top of their game to have a longer feud.

there are lots of others I'm sure but this is what I think of initially.

I got a few examples on this one.

#1 Eddie Guerrero/Kurt Angle-now I know they faced each other at a Wrestlemania, and at Summerslam, but, still, with these two, they should have main evented one of the two shows, and neither one happened. If Angle didnt get hurt in their Wrestlemania match, and have to take the GM role for a few months, maybe it could have had a better ending.

#2 Rey Mysterio/Chavo Guerrero-it shocked me that they put this match on a Summerslam, but, still, very underrated feud. They could have had this one go on for multiple PPVs, but, just dropped it after Summerslam. They should have built up Mysterio's injury off of it, and had it last longer than a month in my opinion.

#3 Chris Benoit/MVP-this PPV lasted for 3 months, but, still, in the end, in a 2 out of 3 falls match, MVP won it, and Benoit did next to nothing in the match, losing his US title in the process. This was Benoit's last feud before the events that changed pro wrestling forever. Just seemed like whenever they faced each other, no one cared, and I think with better booking, this feud could have been so much better.

Finally #4 Taz/Kurt Angle-talk about a feud that should have lasted more than one month, if it was even considered a feud. After Tazz beat Kurt Angle at the Royal Rumble in his debut, soon after that, he was buried. This feud could have stolen the show for the "true" wrestling fans, but, they decided to end it, didnt make much sense to me, and could have been an awesome feud.

John Morrison vs CM Punk

I think this feud is very undervalued because it was in ECW, but this feud is really under the radar. When Nitro made his crossover into John Morrison, his character got a facelift.

His mic skills got better, his wrestling talent went up a notch and a half and he was just overall a better person and gimmick than Nitro. He was the main heel on this show when nobody else had the ability to carry it.

CM Punk was the main face on ECW and was the top contender against Morrison.

Together, they put on some of the best matches in this company's recent memory. Their ppv matches were cut short for some reason, but they put on MOTY Candidate Matches on ECW. Their best match was when Punk won the ECW Title on ECW. What a proper way to end that feud. Great feud, great matches, great mic battles. It had everything. I just wish they had more time to put great matches at The GAB and Summerslam.

I wouldn't mind seeing them feud again as long as a major title was involved. They can still put on classic matches.

Angle/Lesnar- I think it gets over looked because both men left the company very soon after that. It could have been much better if it had happened a year prior before Lesnar was sick or pro-wrestling and Angle was struggling with pain-killers and walking into WWE's dog house. Lesnar/Goldberg could have been amazing but it culminated on each guys final night so we just saw two guys with no heart. Lesnar/goldberg/austin in one ring should have easily been something to remember but its rather forgetable

Off the top of my head I think about Dolph Ziggler and The Great Khali's fued. I know most of you would probably say that Ziggler and Khali's fued was lame but I thought it was cool. I mean, I hate Khali which is why i enjoyed the fued. Ziggler dominated Khali in each match and that was awesome. Ziggler always won whether it be by DQ or ring out or whatever. It really proved to me that the WWE had something in store for Ziggler. I mean, the young Ziggler took out a former world champion who used to dominate wrestlers. I loved how the fued ended with Ziggler pinning Khali and therefore Ziggler was the winner (thanks to a little help from Kane). I think that the fued is underrated.

Undertaker vs Ric Flair at 2002, anyone?

I think this is easily one of the most underrated feuds of all time. Big Evil had a brief feud with The Rock at No Way Out 2002 and was about to destroy him, but "Nature Boy" Ric Flair made the save and attacked Undertaker. Taker got upset about the "respect" he got from the 16 time World Champion and wanted to face him at WrestleMania X-8 in Toronto, Ontario Canada in the Skydome which is now renamed The Rogers Centre. B

ut the problem was, Flair wouldn't accept the challenge made by the evil-Undertaker. So, the only way Undertaker had to change Flair's mind is to first brutally attack and beat the living hell out of Flair's best friend Arn Anderson, leaving him with a bloody mess, but even though Flair was pissed off he still did not except Big Evil's challenge. Then The Undertaker would do the unthinkable next, Undertaker would go to Flair's son, David Flair who was training at the WWE, and Taker had no mercy but to attack and assault Flair's son David leaving him as well in a bloody mess, and Taker said he would have no problem if he had to go through Flair's entire family. So Ric Flair finally did the right thing for his family and friends, but he chose the wrong thing for himself because Flair finally accepted Taker's challenge at WrestleMania X-8. But for the match to go on, the WWE Board of Directors including C.E.O. Linda McMahon asked Flair if he would still want to continue in the match against Undertaker, and Flair responded "Yes, without a shout of a doubt" But then from Vince McMahon, he decided to put the match as a No DQ Match just to provoke Flair even more but that didn't matter at all to Flair.

And the match at Wrestlemania X-8 delivered as well. Flair attacked the moment Taker got into the ring and they rumbled to the commentator table. Taker fought back and pummeled Flair till he bled before delivering The Superplex that was heard around the world! This match was a wild brawl. These two men had matches back in 1993 but back then The Undertaker had a different style. This match was so awesome from start to finish! You can combine The Undertaker's Wrestlemania matches with Giant Gonzales, Big Boss Man, and Mark Henry times ten but they won't even be half as good as this match.

I also found Jerry Lawler’s announcing quite amusing during this match. Jerry is so biased and I love it. He began to chuckle when the Undertaker put a chokehold on Flair and throughout the event Ross and Lawler debated various things. It reminded me of the chemistry between the late Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan or Jesse Ventura and Vince McMahon. Uniquely, the crowd cheered for The Undertaker despite him being a heel and his opponent is perhaps the best pro-wrestler of all time. The classic ended after a Tombstone Piledriver and the interference of another Horsemen, Arn Anderson. The 16 Time World Champion is one the biggest names on the list, no doubt about it. The whole match and feud was magic, but I find it unbelievable people rarely include this match and feud when they speak of Taker's best matches and feuds. I don't know what makes it so underrated, but it's ridiculous some fans didn't even know Flair is one of The Undertaker's Wrestlemania victims.

OMG, this feud is such an overlooked classic it's not even funny....

I get confused when reading some threads. I though this was supposed to be about old school.

Then we got someone mentioning the Legacy feud? Are you kidding me?

I'm not even gonna comment on someone mentioning Dolph Ziggler.

As for the OP, The US - Canda Feud was anything but underrated. Did you even watch the WWF in 1997? That fued was the entire RAW show! Every week during that summer, it seemed like they kept going back and forth between US and Canadian cities. One week RAW would be in Detroit, the next week in Toronto, the next week in Chicago, then Calgary, etc, etc.

All the big players were in that feud.

That feud was HUGE.

I really liked that someone mentioned the Billy Jack - Herc feud. That was a good one. I remember watching that SNME battle royal with guys like Hogan, Andre, Harley Race, etc and all of the big names of the 80's. But the last two guys in it were in a mid-card feud. But they really made it work! Seeing who could put on the full nelson first? Ahhh, good stuff.

Bad News Brown vs Randy Savage (Late 88 - Early 89)

One of my favorite underrated feuds was between Bad News Brown and Randy Savage. The problem with that feud was it was during the same time as the Mega Powers - Twin Towers and Hogan - Savage feud.

For whatever reason, someone decided to take the Bad News - Savage feud and kind of make it a throw away experiment. It was around the same time where it appeared that Savage was about to turn into a heel.

I mean it was great, Bad News kept throwing around the race card, Jack Tunney was involved (it was Boss vs Employee long before Austin - McMahon), Both Hogan and Savage were involved, they got Liz involved, Bad News was just unbelieveable on the mic and Savage was always impressive. They also had the WWF belt to play with, I mean that feud should have been a lot bigger than it was.

It was as if they were rushing it..........you know what? I have no idea what they were thinking at the time.

I can quickly think of a couple that I enjoyed...

Bobby Hennan/Ken Patera- was great and one of the first times I really remember someone's real life trouble being brought in. The Heenan/Patera "debate" was gold.

Not sure how "old school" these next 2 would be considered....

Big Boss Man/Mountie- tons of great promos and segments. I remember really wanting to see the Mountie get his ass beat.

And here's my oddball......

The Godwinns/Smoking Gunns- Sunny was running with the Gunns at this point. She was one of the hottest things ever, and Phineas played such a loveable, love torn fool that when Sunny got slopped I was stoked.

Well the one I will mention is one that is currently happening now, Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler. Everybody just hates on this feud cause Cole isn't a wrestler & they find him annoying but so what if he's not a wrestler, so what if he is annoying, it justs mean his character is working & the storyline between the two is what will make the match at WM 27 worth watching. I don't exactly agree with Cole bringing Jerry's mother into it but you have to admit, it has worked, it's brought a lot of heat & animosity into the feud. Pretty much everybody is involved in this feud, family (Brian Christopher), friend (JR), new star (Swagger), legends (Stone Cold, maybe JBL) and it's working big with everyone. This is probably the greatest commentator vs. commentator feud ever if there ever has been one before.

Extra mentions would be Triple H vs. Mr. McMahon & Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz cause Cole, Miz & Daniel all benefitted from that. Cole as the top heel commentator today, Miz as a serious top notch superstar & contender for the main event and Daniel as WWE's newest & future breakout star.

one feud i forgot to mention was the Brian Pillman & Goldust Feud with marlena. That was very underated and with brian beating goldust and in return if he beat goldust he would have marlena be his personal assistant for 30 days. And with that there came the controversal Brian Pillman XXX files and him and marlena were sleeping together jus classic.

Bruno-Larry Zbyszko easily ! It drew packed houses all up and down the East coast and set gate records at the time that stood for years ! It climaxed of course at Shea stadium in August of 1980 drawing 36,000 fans !

X Pac vs. D Lo Brown. I Loved this feud along with the matches. Before Orton hit The Flying RKO, XPac Finished Brown with a Flying X Factor. TBH as a child I was surprised not to see X Pac in a World title match.
