Wedding Bells???

I despise this storyline. I used to like Ziggler until this soap opera now I could care less about Ziggler, Rusev,bSummer Rae, and even Lana. There are talks on here saying their scraping this storyline all together and putting Lana back with Rusev. That's the ONLY way I see anyone come out of this Alive.

But it got me thinking if they go as far as the Attitude Era and try to pull off a wedding. ( get interrupts of course) that in the modern era, how many weddings ceremonies were done on Raw? A fake wedding of course. But.I'm not searching, just guessing..
Chuck and Billy
Um Edge and Lita
Test and Stephanie
HHH and Stehanie
I'm thinking AJ might have been evolved in one?
Maybe Mark Henry and Mae Young
I'm not sure but HHH and Chyna?
? I'm thinking Val Venice done one,. Maybe even x-PAC in one
L
My point there hasn't been much in the PG era...

I'm thinking AJ might have been evolved in one?

Yes. AJ was set to marry Daniel Bryan before she "left him at the altar" to take the RAW GM job.

I think a wedding storyline can only work once before its stale.

I loved Lana and when she broke off away from Rusev i was excited. But this bitchy swapping girlfriends storyline is just awful and the sooner it ends the better. Rusev deserves better hes went from an unstoppable force to a nobody. Summer Rae is and has always been awful and i just wish they would remove Lana from this, train her up and eventually become a singles star.

There is also Edge and Vickie Guerrero and also Teddy Long and his whatsoeverwashername fiance but I think that maybe was on Smackdown.

Though its always the same stick: Just like contract signings for PPV matches, weddings always end up in drama and chaos. :)

That would be Teddy Long and Kristal.

Also forgetting Lita and Kane from the original list.

And Torrie Wilson's dad(Al) and Dawn.

I'm pretty sure that considering the WWE is pulling the plug on this story line, a wedding will not be happening. I don't know the demographics of audiences as a whole, but I do know that you see more kids these days than ever before.

I remember going attending shows years ago and seeing no kids at all. By kids I mean the under 16 year old crowd. Now it seems like kids are the ones who make up a good portion of the audience, and they aren't interested in crap like this. Mostly because either they don't understand it or it's boring for them.

The WWE should just let this story line die off, and never try to do it again. They really don't do them well, at least not to the point where a normal person would believe it. A good story line is fine, but some of this soap opera shit has to just stop.

I have no idea if there is going to be a wedding and I'm pretty sure that is not the next step in this story. Rusev made it very clear that he needs to win a title before he will marry Summer Rae. So the story right now is what will both of them do to get a title? Also, what happens to the relationship if they continue to fail at the goal?

Am I defending this storyline and promising greatness? No. But I would argue that the wedding is not inevitable and the title hunt and stipulation is something kind of new or at least different. Rusev is very lucky to be getting this much TV time since his debut. HHH must love the guy.

Rusev made it very clear that he needs to win a title before he will marry Summer Rae.

As if that has anything to do with true love. :p

Still, as long as Rusev is involved with two women, marrying one of them would put the kibosh on the storyline. Hell, in the couple of weeks before Summer Raye's 'touching' proposal, Rusev wasn't even acknowledging her presence as she escorted him down to ringside. After causing him to lose a match with her shoe-throwing antics, he seemed to have no use for her. All of a sudden, they're tying the knot?

I can't see him marrying either gal. Both Lana and Summer, for all their sincerity toward Rusev, will do something to shoot themselves in the foot before marrying him. The writers will see to it.

You missed two huge weddings in the history of the WWF. Uncle Elmer getting married on Saturday Night's Main Event was wildly entertaining! Who else but the late great Rowdy Roddy Piper would come out and interrupt the ceremony? "You stink, you stink and the whole damn wedding stinks!" Then you have Jesse the body in the booth commenting that they look like two carp in the Mississippi river going after the same piece of food. Classic! I was listening to Roddy interview Jesse and they both said that this was a real wedding. Apparently, in the state they were in, they weren't allowed to have a fake ceremony so they had a real one

Then you have Randy Savage and Elizabeth. The ceremony was uneventful but the reception was great! Who will ever forget a cobra coming out of the gift box?

They seem to be moving more to Ziggler v Cena based off the Nikki segment on Total Divas and RAW this week... Cena is "taking time off for personal reasons" too, could there be some reality involved here? Has Zig gotten a little bit further than TD showed?

The wedding angle itself is an old hat one, it's quite enough now to acknowledge married couples like Naomi and her Uso, Bryan and Brie and the like... hell the next wedding is scheduled to be Big John and Bella Mom... that's more of a WWE style wedding, I can see them playing off the Kardaishans with it all...

The Rusev thing is weird cos he and Lana were together, then seperated on the road... it's possible some real life issues stemmed from that and that's why the whole angle has been disjointed. They're being asked to perhaps "hate each other" and neither can really do that... or they really did break up and they're having to play it out for the fans, on top of the real pain...

Savage and Elizabeth was the worst in history, a couple who were basically seperated in real life, had been married for years renewing their vows, only to divorce a year later... for the sake of an angle... tacky as hell, and WWE even botched the payoff by pissing Jake off enough to quit.

Weddings? steer clear...

Considering Lana has been sporting a ring on the lock-down finger, this storyline will probably lead to her return. Lana could even be the one that ends up getting Rusev a title, instead of Summer.

This wedding will not be happening. I'll book a plane to Raw and interrupt the ceremony myself if I have to. IMAGINE THE DRAMA! I've always legitimately thought that eventually Rusev-Lana would be involved in a marriage angle that would rival even Savage/Liz, except they'd be heels. Where Macho/Liz were showered in adulation by the fans, I always saw a Rusev/Lana Russian wedding ceremony getting a ton of heat. If WWE takes this moment away from me or dilutes it by having Rusev marry Summer first, I'll be a sad man.

But I don't see it happening. Although I'm so glad they're going in another direction for this angle with Ziggler seemingly out of the way, I don't envision Rusev winning the US, IC, or WWEWHC belts anytime soon. However, this program finally has potential after so many months. I know a lot of people are going to shit all over this simply because of the angle that preceded it, but Rusev chasing gold for a month or so with his marriage to Summer hanging in the balance opens up a chunk of scenarios and actually sounds a lot better than what we currently had.

If the ceremony were to happen only for Lana to return and reclaim Rusev as her own, I'd fucking pop. But that's fantasyland.

Well now I know Rusev and Lana are together in real life. They just bought a very nice home in Florida very recently. I know it probably won't happen. I am just not sure how their gonna end it. Because they are pushing Ziggler vs. Cena especially after the accidental sweet chin music Ziggler gave to Cena.

I can't believe I forgot macho man and miss Elizabeth...that is one of my fav childhood memories of wrestling period..

Actually they bought a house in Nashville, Tennessee. I think it was on the main page when they bought it. Nice house, had pictures and everything. Anyway my son watches Total Diva's when he's bored, and I remember hearing Nicki Bella saying that Cena didn't want to get married or have children. So I don't think we'll be seeing that happening anytime soon either.

If Rusev and Lana do get married in real life, it will probably be private and we'll find out about it later. Can't remember if they sowed the Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan wedding on Total Diva's or not. I also remember something about Naomi and Jimy Uso's wedding being shown there as well.

It was Tennessee not Florida, your correct. You get a cookie!!

I highly doubt any real life wedding these days would be on raw, Smackdown, or total divas. Course Paige is the anti-diva. So she'd go against tradition and do hers on TV. Lol

The wedding angles are always cheesy because you know something is going to happen to ruin the wedding. Plus, who in their right mind would seriously get married on Raw? To me, that is one angle that just kills the show - you can't suspend disbelief enough for that one to work.

You also forgot Billy & Chuck's "wedding" where the preacher revealed himself as Eric Bischoff.

"Wait a minute!!! Did I just hear myself say "THREE MINUTES"!"

I don't think AJ and Val Venis was involved in a wedding, but i'm probably wrong, there's been so many in history and usually end up in disaster Weddings in wrestling usually draw well. I don't find them that entertaining but i guess it's alright to have them once in a while. It's been a long time since they had one.

Nope, I said Chuck and Billy in my opening post..

I didn't mean AJ and Val together lol. I know AJ dumped Daniel Bryan "at the alter"

But now I can't remember about Val Venis.

The one I like the best is HHH and Stephanie in Las Vegas at the drive-thru that was so funny. I do not think there will be a wedding with Rusev and Summer or even Dolph. Dolph is going on to feud with John Cena I think. Rusev I think will end up with Lana again that is when he will win a Title maybe even the World Title.
