"WCW" Theme at Wrestlemania 27?

There's plenty of talent that could go into the Hall of Fame if the WWE does go through with the WCW-theme next year.

1) Sting
2) The Road Warriors
3) Lex Luger
4) Goldberg
5) Brian Pillman
6) Booker T
7) Diamond Dallas Page
8) Ron Simmons
9) The Great Muta
10) Vader
11) Arn Anderson
12) The Midnight Express
13) The Rock'n'Roll Express
14) Dean Malenko
15) Jushin Thunder Liger

I'm sure the WWE would have no problem filling out a ballot with a list like that.

Now, I haven't mentioned the Steiner Brothers because I think Scott's attitude toward the WWE in the past might nix that idea. But I included Goldberg and Luger because it appears recently that whatever hatchet there was has been buried as far as they go (especially considering Goldberg participated in the Rise and Fall of WCW when he could've easily said no).

Looking at some of the people who have been inducted in the past like Cowboy Bob Orton, the Junkyard Dog and Harley Race, many of them accomplished more outside of the WWE. And just because others like Verne Gagne and Nick Bockwinkel never set foot in a WWE ring, that doesn't mean their accomplishments shouldn't be honored and celebrated by the WWE.

So no, it shouldn't matter if an inductee never wrestled for the WWE to go in.

I agree in the most part with what Tenta was sayign and that the HOF have to think outside the box with their picks due to political issues such as some of the names being mentioned in TNA. However, i like the idea of people like Malenko, Vader and Simmons getting a look in due to the fact they wrestled in both promotions (which should appeal to some of the naysayers against this concept).

For me personally, i like the idea of tag teams getting inducted so The Road Warriors would get in, possibly The Freebirds (but then most of their success was in the NWA and WCCW) but what about maybe Harlem Heat or The Steiners? Both of those last teams include a singles competitor that was successful in WWE/F as well as WCW but again, will being in TNA effect this from happening.

If this does go ahead, i would like to see the following people go in on a 6-7 person induction ceremony.

Lex Luger
The Road Warriors
Vader
Ron Simmons
DDP
The Steiner Brothers
Dean Malenko

I don't think Sting will get in, simply because i can't see Vince making him an offer that he can't refuse. I think the WWE HOF is expanding and becoming a WRESTLING HOF, and i think Sting would be a great addition. However, i just don't see him accepting it, therefore, he won't get in.

I find it funny that people think Sting shouldn't be in the WWE Hall of Fame. To say he deserves to be in a Wrestling Hall of Fame and not WWE's is ridiculous considering events like this can never happen in the Wrestling Industry. I don't see The Undertaker, HHH, Randy Orton, or even Shawn Michaels who is very good friend of Steve Bordon's to have a problem with a man that has put his mark on the wrestling industry like Sting has. Be it with the kids or his promotion. This is a man that was very loyal to his company, but never had a bad thing to say about WWE or their fans. How is it fair to any performer who had a huge impact on wrestling not be honored because Vince McMahon had eliminated the opportunity for these wrestlers to get honored from there respective companies? I am shocked that as wrestling fans people can't appreciate what some performers have done in their careers and should be recognized. It just happens to be it has to come from WWE programing because Vince McMahon decided it had to be that way.

The big question is does WWE only induct people that have been part of WWe or people that have made an influence in the business in the area that Wrestlemania is being held i.e. The Von Erichs in Texas. If it's for people that have played major roles in the area, well Atlanta has had many through the years that should be hall of fame bound. Here's a few examples.

The Fabulous Freebirds- Quite possibly the best 3 man faction of all time, good brawling skills, colorful entrances, Hayes, Gordy, Roberts and the sometimes 4th man Jimmy Garvin deserve to be in the hall of fame.

The Midnight Express- Arguably one of the best tag teams of all time.

Magnum TA- A man that would've been a multi-time World champion had a tragic accident not ended his career.

Nikita Koloff- Multi-time US Champion

Rock N Roll Express- 4 time World Tag Team Champs

While there are many former WCW alumni that will no doubt get into the hall of fame, Atlanta had many worthy of the hall of fame before WCW was in existence.

'Hatehabsforever'- you commented on how 400+ views strong noone has stepped up and agreed w/you...well, i'm guessing they don't agree with you. I don't agree with you, either. I also won't tell you that your opinion is wrong because it is just that, your opinion and your right to state it. Also, I respect the fact that you didn't turn it into some whiny diatribe like many do on here.

I agree with most on here that I like the fact that the WWE has assumed the role of the host of the HOF that covers the entire sport. Many people complain and argue that VKM has stripped down and changed the sport, making it an entertainment industry primarally. This is a great thing he does every year to peserve the rich history of an ever changing industry, and I look forward to inductions every year, eispecially when people who were great contributors to the industry (not WWE) get the nod. This is Vince's contribution, and it makes his company a ton of money, and a WCW themed HOF for next year in Atlanta would be well suited. It would be nice to see Sting go in, I hope he would accept and invitation in the event he is not under contract with TNA. He was more than a big fish in a small pond (hard to agree with that when he was the top Protagonist during the NWO invasion angle in '96-'98 and his 13 yr. feud w/Flair), but again, that isn't the issue. If they went with that theme, he would certainly be the likely cantidate for top billing that year. If they went that route and Sting wasn't avail or declined, I would like to see LOD and Ellering get top billing. Either way, the WWE HOF is the largest global outlet to acknowledge the standout (in most cases) stars of the industry, and I am appreciative of the fact that they have not abandoned the tradition and rich history of the industry for the sake of rubbing in the fact that they are the untouchable entity in the sport. Gordon Solie, Verne Gagne, Bill Watts, The Von Erich's, The Brisco's and most recently Antonio Inoki, Stu Hart and Gorgeous George have been some of the best additions to the HOF that covers the World of Wrestling Entertainment.

In add'n to my post above, I would ike to see these Atlanta/WCW guys inducted, and am picking people that aren't contactually conflicting currently.

Road Warriors w/Ellering-shoud have happened in Chicago, but whatever, let's just get them in already, and this would be the 2nd best place to do so. You cover two inductions in one, as they normally induct a manager in each class when they can. They were the most unstoppable force in wrestling for a decade straight, the original antiheroes and one of the top draws over a 2 decade span.

The Fabulous Freebirds-the original faction, trend setters, made a mark in every territory in the U.S. and really had great feuds with The Von Erich's, LOD, Steiners, RR Express and many others.

Arn Anderson-another one overdue, I would like to see him go in as an individual as his accomplishments as a singles wrestler certainly warrant such. One of the best promos and wrestlers in the histiry of the business, and for so many years passed retirement he is grooming many of the talent we cheer today.

Tully Blanchard-again, like AA, he was a tremendous standout singles wrestler before he replaced Ole as Arn's partner in the Horseman tag team. Multiple time US and TV champ, he had great feuds and was really the #2 heel in JCP for most of his run.

Rick Rude-considering how so many others with checkered pasts w/WWE have come home, Rude was a top star in both companies as well as in WCCW.

Stan Hansen-really cut his teeth in the territory in the late 70's/early 80's before going overseas and being a top gaigin draw for nearly 20 yrs. Him inducting Inoki this year leads me to believe he could be likely having established a relationship w/WWE.

Paul Jones-the creator of Georgia Championship wrestling, a flagship television show that showcased many wrestlers from several territories. His weekly show, which had been taken over by Jim Barnett (another good cantidate), and finally the Brisco's and Ole after his retirement, helped launch the careers of several of the guys listed above as well as so many others including; Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, The Iron Shiek, Tommy Rich and Jake Roberts to name a few.
