Walking Out On A Movie.......

Has anyone ever done this? Would a shit film cause you to walk out?

I thought about this after sitting through Little Fockers the other day. I thought the film was pretty shitty, and I seriously wanted to leave the theater. But I didn't, because I figured I already payed for the ticket, and I had watched over an hour of the film, so why not stay?

I visit the theater by my house a lot, and I always see a group of people walk out of every other movie I watch. You've already payed for the movie, and you've obviously set aside some time to watch it, so why not sit through the entire film? Do you really want to go through the process of getting a refund, and trying to find another film to watch? I just think the hassle isn't worth it. Besides, you never know, the movie could get better. Some films start out slow, but they do pick up along the way.

I almost walked out on The Village years ago. I can remember being so excited for this film. I actually liked M. Night Shyamalan before this film, but after sitting through this piece of shit, my hatred for him started to grow. I wanted to walk out, but I decided to stay, because I wanted to see how things would turn out. Yeah, I was VERY disappointed, but I set aside some time to see it back then, and I wanted to know what the big twist would be, so I decided to stay.

Has a film ever disgusted or angered you this much? Did you walk out on the movie? Or did you at least think about it?

If I knew for certain that I would get my money back then possibly, but probably not. No matter if I movie is good or not I usually like to watch them regardless, at least to see what all of the fuss is about. I have sat through some bad ones before, but more times then not most films are at least mildly entertaining. Now, had I seen Last Days in theaters I sure as hell would have walked out on that piece of trash even if I couldn't get my money back. But, for the most part I like to believe I would finish any film, no matter how awful it is.

I've never walked out on a movie, never even thought about it. I usually don't go see a film unless it looks REALLY interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a film on a whim, it's usually always a film that I've been interested in for months, have watched multiple trailers and stars a couple of my favorite actors. I did fall asleep during Bourne Ultimatum. Not the movies fault, I was just really tired and the cold darkness of the theater put me out. I missed the entire rooftop chase scene and had to wait for DVD to see it.

I've never walked out of a movie on my own will. I did walk out on Finding Nemo but that was due to the fact my father wasn't feeling well due to his cancer treatment and I felt it was best that someone was with him while he waited in the car. Other than that I've never left a movie. I've sat through some bad movies, but I paid to be there so I'm gonna stick with it no matter the outcome. That is just how I feel about it. I'm the same way with sporting events. I won't leave until it is over.

Yes I have. I went to see that piece of shit movie 'Changing Lanes' when it first came out. Some friends said it was supposed to be really good and it turned out to be the most boring hour I have ever spent in my entire life. I got to the 'big action part' that consisted of nothing more than something being knocked off a desk (as best I can recal), then I just said the hell with it and walked out. I didn't care about the money, at the time I would've paid $20 just not to finish it if I had to.

Personally, I have never walked out of the theater. Friends and I have had some laughs with the rest of the audience during really bad films (Ghosts of Mars), but I didn't leave. I paid for the ticket, I'm watching the whole thing.

However, when Gods and Generals (2003) hit the big screen, we wanted to give it a shot after enjoying Gettysburg (1993). The movie was around 3 1/2 hours long, and actually had an intermission. During the break, we noticed another guy we knew happened to have been in the same theater. We walked up to this guy, and asked him what he thought. He said, "This movie has a FUCKING intermission?? I'm outta here."

I don't mind long movies, not at all. But this movie was beyond boring, the dialogue was shit, and the battle scenes were few and far between. A poor-man's Gettysburg, no question.

Yea I walked out on Night at the Museum 2 lol. I thought it was the worst movie I have ever seen and it was so bad it made me lol at parts. I needed to pass time so that's why I saw it. I regret paying to see it now and walked out at the half way point.

Only time I ever walked out on a movie was because my GF kept calling me, I figured after the third time in row that she tried to get me it must be urgent so I stepped out of the theater to take the call, she was crying and panicking, apparently someone didn't shut the door to our apartment all the way and the cat got out, and she couldn't find him anywhere, about ten mins. after I got home she found him on the floor above ours

I only walked out on a movie once. It was Semi Pro. The movie wasn't good at all. It was basically the same jokes from all his other movies. To be fair I actually had to go to the restroom really bad. I was going to try to hold it to watch the whole show because we had like 30 minutes at the most. But I was like this movie kind of sucks so I probably won't miss anything special. By the time I got done using the restroom I thought well I'm already out of the theatre (the room the movie was playing in), why don't I just go ahead and leave.

Would I ever leave another movie if it was bad enough. It depends. I think I would. Their have been a couple I wanted to. Juno is the most recent movie that I thought sucked but didn't walk out.

My final answer though is yes I would walk out if it's horrible enough.

I was VERY close to walking out of CRANK 2

I loved the 1st one, but this took every "over the top" thing from movie one, made it 10x more stupid, and just ruined it.

I hated it, and asked my friend to leave with me after half an hour but he thought it would get better, so we stayed.

It didnt

Now he regrets not leaving and going getting drunk with me haha

I have never walked out on a movie but almost did on Open Water I will say this I was the only one left in the theatre so walking out when it was over I felt pretty silly lol worst movie ever made!

I've never walked out of a movie, but came very, very close during Strange Wilderness. The previews made the movie look a lot funnier than it actually was. I guess I expected more from the cast (Steven Zahn, Jonah Hill, Justin Long).

If I would have seen Idiocracy in the theater, I would have walked out. By far the worst movie ever made. :disappointed:

I have wanted to walk out on a lot of "date movies" in the past. God knows if I wasn't on a date with my spouse I would have saved myself a lot of torture from the Madea movies and movies like "Valentine's Day" or "The Women". I walked out of The Arrival with Charlie Sheen to see an R rated movie when I was younger. I think the most recent movie I walked out on was The Crazies. I just couldn't get into it, and I missed half of Shutter Island because of a power outage at the theater.

I believe the only movie I have ever walked out on was Due date, it was just shit. I loved the Hangover and most of Zack's standup but really how many movies can you make off of being a fucking stoner? The plot was really funny, but the acting on Zack's part was just fucking terrible. I mean for fucks sake how many dumb fucking stoner actors do we have to get through that basically play their real life on screen before we get to the point that we all just throw up our hands and say fuck it.

I would like to say that I Peter Griffen'd it and said done, and walked out of the show. But I didn't, I actually gave this fucking movie a second chance, I went out and played a quick couple of games of air hockey, and got a drink, and went back in. But noo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fucking movie just screamed hey leave now before your brain rots out even more. So I left

You nearly walked out on Jessica Alba getting down to her Bra & Panties? Well, if you didn't know that was coming, then I don't blame you. The film wasn't great at all, but Jessica made up for it.
Needless to say, I've never walked out on a movie. I very nearly did on Fred Claus, it has to be the WORST film ever, seriously.

I don't think I've ever walked out on a movie. I usually don't go to the theatre much anymore, so I'm pretty picky about what I see. Even so, I don't ever remember a time that I walked out on one in my youth, either. I think I probably would now, though, if I ever went to see one and didn't feel like wasting my time or had something better to do. I did, however, fall asleep during Tomb Raider. Ugh. Even with Angelina Jolie, that movie was just boring as all hell.

I've never walked out of a movie, but i do remember when Sin City came out, my housemate and i loved it so much that we saw it twice on the same day. But in both instances, people walked out at the exact same point, which was when Kevin is being eaten alive by his own dog.

Now this is in Winchester, where the majority of people who were born here, have their heads firmly entrenched up their own asses, and decided that the film was too violent for them.

About a month later Batman Begins was screening in Winchester. Couple fo years later, they decided NOT to screen 'TDK' claiming that Winchester didn't have an audience for violent films, so they didn't bother getting them anymore. Losers.

As for some of the films mentioned so far, why would you even bother paying to see some of that shit in the first place?

Open Water? Surely the premise of two idiots floating around in the water for an hour was enough to tell you that it would be a steaming pile of shit? And Crank 2? As much as i loved Crank 1, i didn't pay to see that, so i wasn't prepared to pay for Crank 2 either, and thank god since it was literally the exact same jokes more or less except they added in the epileptic kid.

If i'd seen [REC] at the cinema, i'd have probably walked out of that. THAT is a pile of shit zombie movie.

I've only walked out on the actual movie once; "Almost Heroes" starring Chris Farley and Matthew Perry. My friends and I were all big SNL fans and also loved Farley from other movies, but this one was fuckin' awful. Like one guy already said, I'm pretty selective about the movies I'm willing to go to the theater for so it's unlikely I'd walk out. In the era of HDTVs and Blu-Ray players I watch most movies at home anyway.

The only other time I walked out of a theater was due to the piss-poor staff. They kept the house lights on for 30 mins into the movie and had the volume up way too high. We were all looking at each other like "WTF is wrong with this place" and finally just left and got our money back. It was kind of funny, because at first they weren't going to give us the refund but then my friend started walking down the row of people waiting to buy tickets and telling them extra-loudly what a shitty experience we had. They did a 180 fast.

AMEN BROTHER!

How the hell Crank 2 got better reviews than the original, i will never understand. I switched it off in anger when they were huge versions of themselves and fighting like dinosaurs near some power lines. WHAT THE FUCK WAS I WATCHING!!?!?
