Vince On Commentary

NSL

Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
I'm watching some stuff on WWE 24/7, and can't get over how great Vince was as a commentator. He could do play-by-play well, and could use whatever emotion he needed to further the energy of the match.

no. Vince was abysmal. Like the annoying person in the room who knows fuck all about what everyone is watching, but i sbeing extra loud and enthusiastic to try to fit in. but he is just annoying, and fucking distracting, and you just want to stab them in the neck with a pencil.

Watch the I Quit match from WM 13. There's a point where JR just takes over the show on commentary from Vince. You can really tell the difference between good and awful.

I think I made a thread once stating pretty much was what said above me. I havent changed my mind since then.

Vince was indeed terrible. He was ok at relaying the storylines and helping the characters get over, but his voice made it sound really lame, and he knew nothing about what happened in the ring most of the time.

On top of that, him being the owner kinda ruined it aswell, because the talent would come over and berate him, making it obvious that he was behind it all.

Anyone remember MOTY between HBK and Marty Jannety in '94? Where Vince, conducting an interview suddenly just announces a Title match right there and then? How more blatant could he have been?

Vince was alright, I thought Mohnsoon, and Jesse, and or the Brain were better. "One, Two, and he got him, oh no he didn't get him, he didn't get him" He did that EVERY MATCH, he really was an average commentator. He brought some energy to the booth but that was not his best place to be.

I thought Vince was great at pumping up the match or bringing energy to the match before hand like when the wrestlers were coming to the ring. But once the match started and he actually started doing play by play I hated it. Nothing tops Gorilla and Ventura or Gorilla and Heenan. I miss the days of the classic Face and Heel announce teams like them two.
