[Victory Road] Matt Morgan v. Hernandez [First Blood Match]

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
TNA has announced a First Blood Match to take place at Victory Road between Matt Morgan and the recently returned Hernandez. Following their match this past week on iMPACT!, Morgan was cut open after Hernandez repeatedly slammed him into the steps.

I'm not a fan of First Blood Matches. They usually tend to be little more than punch fests or repeatedly trying to slam a guy's face into something to bust him open.

I don't understand why it's a First Blood Match? Maybe to symbolize that it's just the beginning of the fued? nah.... just a stupid gimmick.

I'm a huge fan of both Hernandez and Morgan so it should be good but like you said I hope it doesn't include a punch-fest.

Bah i think it makes sense , remember Morgan was the one who laid Hernandez out by «smashing» his head against the ring steps. Hernandez returns and joins Immortal and attacks Morgan for revenge. So the first blood match is a good way for them to settle things, i just hope there will be weapons involved and not just punches.

I hope Morgan wins this, because I think he could use the boost. He really hasn't done anything that's worth any type of recognition lately, because ever since his feuds with Hardy and Anderson ended, he's just been stuck in the mid card. Hernandez is still pretty fresh from his return, and he already has a spot in Immortal, so I don't think he needs this win.

As far as the match goes, I expect this one to be a viscous brawl, and Hernandez and Morgan should bludgeon each other until one man bleeds.

If given enough time, this could be brutal. TNA is known for quick bleeding as of late, and it kind of hurts First Blood matches from a viewing standpoint.

These guys are big, tough bastards, and need to brawl it out. But that doesn't mean it needs to go into the bathroom, or into the parking lot. You don't need 500 chair shots, either. I hope it goes at least 15 minutes, giving these guys a chance to bring everything they have. They need that chance.

If it isn't overbooked, or deemed unimportant by the creative team, it could be a lot of fun.

I hope Morgan wins this, as another poster mentioned Hernandez has already joined Immortal, so he is in a good spot while Morgan hasnt really done much recently.

This match needs to go a decent amount of time, they should make it a war rather than a quick 5 minute match while completely ruins the whole point of a first blood match. If they were gonna go 5 minutes, they just make it a normal match. A short match time makes the stipulation worthless in my opinion. The idea of a 1st blood match is to brutalise your opponent until they bleed, which gives the opportunity for a really brutal match which goes on until someone takes enough punishment to bleed. A quick blading is pointless.

This should be a Pretty Good Brawl if given the right amount of time. Both Men are Pretty Good in the ring for their size, If this match gets between 12-15 minutes and if its not Over Booked it will be a Solid Match, I'm not sure who will win this match but since I'm a Fan of both guys the person that wins doesn't matter much to me as long as we get a Good Match.

Its too bad we haven't seen much of these two over the last few weeks. The blood in TNA is a little overkill, but I like the concept of this match. I wouldn't be surprised if Immortal gets involved one or another to help Hernandez win. Morgan could also get the upper hand, but either way it should be a brutal match up.

Personally I think this feud is weak and stupid. They were tag team partners then enemies. Then Hernandez left for a while. He comes back for Immortal, and then shortly after randomly Morgan confronts him. It was as if TNA writers went "Hey, they past from so long ago could provide a nice feud for this upcoming pay per view guys!"

It's not something I'm pumped for. Other then it being a first blood match, it doesn't seem to have much excitement. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of both the superstars. Dating back to LAX and Morgans debut. Back at Abyss vs Morgan at Destination X 2 years ago, I was the only one in the building that night cheering for Morgan... But this feud is just stupid. Maybe if they had finished back when it started it would of worked.

These two guys are perfect for a first blood match, usually bigger guys are. They will put on some what of a good match, but it will not be the match of the night. It won't be grabbing most peoples attention to watch the pay per view.

I'm fine with Hernandez vs Morgan as a concept - it's a feud that needs closure - but a first blood match? It's perfectly fit for the storyline, but First Blood matches are such momentum killers. They just don't work. I've never, ever enjoyed a first blood match in my entire life and I'm damn sure I never will. I don't see what the brutality in making someone bleed to win is. I don't see how that makes you the better man either. See, if they had a "Last Man Standing" - now that would've been great. Two huge guys, beating the shit out of eachother - awesome. I don't like this match, and I'm not looking forward to it.
