Vance Archer?

Ballin247

Pre-Show Stalwart
Ok, now this is a serious thread about the Arch unlike my previous one. lol. What do you think will become of this guy? Have we seen the last of him? He is sort of a special case because he has neither done anything really good or really bad. Do you think with the rosters combined that he has any chance of having a career in WWE? Will he fade into obscurity like Braen Walker?

He never impressed me at all in TNA. He's fairly big, but not really stand out big. He wouldn't be a giant in the WWE. I don't see any real reason why he would excel in the WWE. To be fair, I did see one squash match with him on ECW that he did fairly well, he looked intense. I just don't really see anything in him that will make hims stand out, there are too many other guys available the have more to offer. Plus their development territory, and all the guys on NXT they will need to make rooms for. I think Vance is destined to get lost in the shuffle.

In all seriousness though he needs to do something about his tramp stamp. I haven't seen him recently so he might have changed his attire to cover it up, but I always thought that looked ridiculous. That and Brock Lesnar's cock-sword tattoo are the worse tattoo's ever seen in wrestling.

Vance Archer hasn't done any thing big at all. IMO he is not bad as a wrestler, But he is just to plain for me. I have a feeling that he will start jobbing to people like Edge or Chris Jericho or even Kane. He wont have any opportunities to concord Gold at all. WWE should do the right thing and just send him back to FCW, Let him get repackage then make him come back as a strong heel or a face. If that doesn't happen then I think he might be doomed, He might just get release in the near future.

At this point, it seems Vance Archer has gone the way of guys like Tyler Reks and Kung Fu Naki, and he got there pretty quickly, which sucks, and is kind of unfair for him. He gets a small push on ECW and gets into a program with Shelton Benjamin, but then Vince suddenly pulls the plug on ECW, so it kind of killed a lot of people's momentum. And now all of a sudden, Vance Archer is doing nothing, with only a handful of matches under his belt.

ECW was more or less a televised developmental territory that looked like a pseudo-brand on WWE, designed to develop tomorrow's stars. It's helped build stars like Punk, Morrison, Miz, etc., but guys like Archer, as well as Baretta, Croft, Yoshi and Tyler Reks, all of whom haven't fully developed into much, have all suddenly been thrown into Raw and SmackDown and are floundering. Either they fill vacant spots on TV or they aren't on TV at all. I'm glad they ended ECW, but overall I think it hurt a lot of people on the brand. Maybe there's hope with the upcoming draft, so we'll have to see...

Anyway, I kind of went on a tangent on underutilized talent, but that's sort of what this topic is about. I've found that I like Vance Archer a lot more than I thought I would. I thought he was a goof in TNA and could not take him seriously. Then he debuted in WWE, and right away I liked him better than I ever did in TNA. I main thing I like about him is his look. To me, he has this cold, serial killer look to him... more so when he first debuted without the beard. But anyways, the way he looks, moves, and executes his maneuvers gives me this vibe of a really evil guy whose quiet, calm and collected, but could fly off the handle at any moment. It sort of reminds me of Randy Orton's schtick, except it has a look that fits it better than Orton's Abercrombie & Fitch model look.

While I do like his look, I think the tramp stamp either needs to be covered with a singlet top, or added on to so it doesn't look like a tramp stamp. It opens him up to a lot of jokes, which would defeat any attempt to make him look serious. Plus while I personally like his character, I don't think he'd catch the interest of casual fans with it, as there's not much talk to him and stuff like that.

So overall, I like Vance Archer, and I don't think he's really gotten that fair of a shake so far. It's hard to tell whether or not they'll just keep him off TV and eventually release him. If so, I'd hope they at least give him more of a chance first, and see where he goes with it. But history has proven that guys have been let go without getting much of anything beforehand. Guess we'll have to see what happens...

I think that Vance Archer will INTENSELY fade into obscurity because he was INTENSELY boring and INTENSELY sucks....

Alright, enough of that.... I seriously think he will not show up again until the draft, then get drafted to whichever brand he isn't on, then never show up, and get future endeavored because this happened to several other guys who sucked.

I definitely think we have seen the last of him for now since the roster is too big for everyone to become a star so guys who suck like Archer are not going to make it. I wouldn't say he will fade into obscurity as badly as Braden Walker did.... but I think we have seen the last of the INTENSE one and I highly doubt he will be seen again after the draft because he sucks and most people just don't care about him.

I'm just not buying into this guy.
He looked stiff on the mic on ECW and now has nowhere really to go.
I don't see future endeavors just yet but we've seen what Vince does to ex-TNA boys so I don't see a long future for him unfortunately.

The guy has a tattoo on his lower back. He lost a lot of point with me when I saw that, I was like "What the fuck? He has a tatto on his lower back." I just can't take him seriously after seeing that.

Why anyone would care about Vance Archer is beyond me. There's nothing special about his matches, and he's very boring in every way. His promos suck, and there's nothing INTENSE about him. I just loved how the ECW announcers would try to convince me Archer was INTENSE. His facial expressions might indicate he's INTENSE, but Randy Orton does a way better job at that than him. His feud with Shelton Benjamin was horrible, and he never did anything memorable on ECW.

I think it's only a matter of time before Archer is released from WWE, and I don't think he'll be missed at all.

Here is my take on the guy.

I do have access to FCW and I've seen a lot of him since coming to WWE. I think his stint with ECW can be seen from two perspectives.

A) He was shoved down our throat to quickly and his in ring ability/gimmick wasn't the type to get over especially with a show generation a 1.0.

B) He came to ECW to late to where a lot of people didn't care for the gimmicks/debuts because the future of ECW was in jeopardy according to many reports on the internet.

As for the guy himself... i don't think he will necessarily fade away like a lot have. He has been wrestling in FCW since the ECW shut down and I actually saw him wrestle in a 6 man tonight. I think if they can find an angle for him we could see in a minor mid card storyline by Summerslam. In my opinion there is nothing locked up for him at the moment so he'll stay in the FCW plant for awhile. Maybe come up if they do a second season of the show NXT. IT'll be interesting to what they do with him.. I don't think he'll fade away.. but i don't think he'll ever get to the point where he's a house hold name.

They should just forget about him. There's several heel talent that I would put ahead of him in WWE right now, as he doesn't stand out at all. I thought he was cool in TNA in his Rock N Rave tag team with Jimmy Rave. He used to have a cool look, maybe he shouldn't have cut his hair.

I was actually just about to make this thread lol...but anywho...

I don't think Vance Archer is done with. For one thing he's been wrestling on FCW. Another thing is he was shoved down our throats. With shelton he actually main evented a couple of ecw's. I can see him coming back and becoming another Mike Knox... a jobber heel who could be a monster...so they feed him to kane...
