Unsatis... FACTION

I love a good faction. But I think WWE may be pushing the envelope on how many factions are on the Roster right now. Teams like DX and NWO don't come around everyday.
2 people= tag team
3 or more faction

So look what do we have. League of Nations, social outcasts, The Authority (McMahons), Team B.A.D., The New Day, The Wyatt Family, the family (Reigns,Usos Ambrose), Team Extreme (Dudley's, Dreamer, Rhyno). That's roughly 8 factions with roughly 25 superstars that's bunched in groups. And that's not counting Team Bella, or P.C.B. .who's now disband.
And now I seen the new 4 coming in could be thrown together??

Seems a lil much??

It is. It's because they are clueless right now.

The product is bad, they lack star power and injuries have absolutely killed.

So, while they try to figure out what the hell to do, they are just putting people together and hoping something sticks and it makes decent enough sense to hold down the fort.

It's a product of laziness, lazy writing and bad ideas that were masked with a healthy roster but are now obvious with so many guys out.

Time for a good old fashion post dissection

I don't think they have to many at all. It's not nearly as bad as you think it is
So look what do we have. League of Nations, social outcasts,
I'll give you these 2 as they are legit factions. There places on the card is so vastly different it doesn't matter. We'll get 1 towards the beginning and the Main Event faction closer to the end of the night.
The Authority (McMahons),
Between the 3 of them they own the company. Besides we haven't seen Triple H for a bit so this faction is on the shelf currently.
Team B.A.D.,
Tamina & Naomi are more Sasha's bodyguards than anything. Also no one cares about them.
The New Day,
Are the Tag Team Champions, I mean I don't know what else to say. These 3 are gold on the mic and damn good in the ring. I hope they never split up
The Wyatt Family,
Another legit faction (That's 3 so far) that again as a differs place on the card than the other 2.
The family (Reigns,Usos Ambrose),
This isn't a faction officially. It's just 4 friends/family members that have each other's backs
Team Extreme (Dudley's, Dreamer, Rhyno).
Tommy Dreamer was not under contract and is gone. Rhyno went back down to NXT I believe.

It's 4 maybe 5 and they all have their place on the card. Team Bella and P.C.B. haven't been together for a while so I have no clue why you'd even bring them up.

The authority is a group of 3 involed in and putting their self inside the ring...... ✅✅

As unimportant and don't care, BAD is a group of 3.. ✅✅

Ambrose, Reigns, and Usos were called "The family" during their feud with the Wyatt's and still wrestle sparingly together today. ✅✅

They never officially closed the book on team extreme either.

I agree the new day never needs to separate...but their still a faction.

The Authority is composed of a 70 year old man who will never wrestle, his daughter and a mother of 2(?) that will never wrestle and a semi retired wrestler who will only wrestle at most half a dozen times a year if that.

Call them a faction if you want but they don't "put themselves inside the ring" as you put it

All this shows is you can count to 3. Naomi and Tamina rarely wrestle. It seems to me a requirement to be a faction is you wrestle together fairly often.

I'm aware of what they were called. WWE likes to name things to make it sound cool and probably for promotion and marketing purposes. Are they called that anymore? Also I'll point out the key word in this, Sparingly. Alot of superstars have wrestled together sparingly. Does that mean the entire roster is one giant faction? No

They never officially closed the book on team extreme either.
Not everything needs a big reason why it ended. Dreamer is not contracted by WWE and Rhyno is in NXT. What more proof do you need that this faction is dead?

They're a 3 man team that's it. We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this because you won't change my mind and I doubt I'm gonna change yours.

I've been thinking bout the factions but more along the lines they seem to be forming 4 man factions...LON Socialoutcasts, the family, Wyatts....and the rumors they just signed 3 members of the bullet club along with Balor would make 4....I'd be willing to bet they've been planning this move for awhile and we will see the Balor club taking on these other 4 man teams here shortly

I see them being 5

1. Wyatt Family
2. Team BAD
3. New Day
4. Social Outcasts
5. League of Nations

For me Wyatt Family, New Day and League of Nations are only the legit factions. Social Outcasts are most probably a JOB Squad but i am ok with them being together as they are doing something atleast instead of nothing. The 2 Unsatis...FACTION are Team BAD and League Of Nations. Wyatt Family and New Day are awesome factions. Team BAD & League Of Nations are just there for nothing.

It does feels little too much. Moreover, with the Royal Rumble coming so soon with these factions around, it'll be quite tough for WWE to book the Rumble match. I reckon it's going to be yet another lacklustre show like the last year. I would welcome if the jobber squad isn't even in the rumble. Then it might can look tad better.

All those groups listed serve or served some purpose. Team BAD doesn't anymore and LON has had zero momentum since the start. We saw just as many groups in previous eras but mainly they were separated by the brand split. I'm okay with the groups as long as there is a direction. Some exposure is better than none.

Rock & a hard place.

No matter what WWE does, there are plenty of fans who criticize them for it. In the past few years, the charge has been that top people are overused while too many midcard talents are stuck in the back room, waiting for a chance.

So, the company responds by giving the problem the Wrestlemania treatment, in which the company puts together all types of teams to get everyone a payday. Now, we have a bunch of factions, which gives the locker room dwellers a chance to perform on TV......yet, we don't like that, either.

Personally, I can see the OP point about too many factions. I'm enjoying the product a lot more than many of you, but I can see what the naysayers are talking about.

Still, the company addresses one problem and 3 more pop up.

Whatcha gonna do?

I agree 100%. I am more or less happy that these guys are getting chances on TV. People wanted Cena gone, now every other fan is in panic mode, then it was Ambrose and Owens aren't getting a push, now it's which NXT talent should be brought up. There's no patients anymore. Remember the slow build up for Sting's character change and how long it took? Fans today wouldve been upset and unwelcoming of the change eventually. I just enjoy the product and skip the tidbits I don't want to see.

I guess it is more than what we are used to but why is it too much? What was so great about the non-faction years that make this mathematical fact so damming?

Clearly Vince is lacking stars and has found success with The New Day (have you seen how many people are wearing those horns?). He is trying something a bit unprecedented but not necessarily wrong. It is great for the talent that needs a chance to get themselves on TV and better for fans who want to see different people, especially the ones who struggle to succeed by themselves.

DOA, NOD, DX, The Brood, The Union, Corporation/Corporate Ministry, The Oddities and LOD w/Droz while a couple of those factions seemingly existed during different times they were inevitably during the Attitude Era that so many loved.

Good thing about wrestling. We don't always have too agree on everything.

👍👍👍👍

1 major heel faction, 1 random face faction and 1 Midcard faction are usually how I like the product, but it's gotta evolve with the times.

I kind of put the League of Nations and Authority as one faction, we see McMahon or Trips giving Sheamus rubs every night, and he's more or less the leader, so it's at least a strong alliance, if not just a blurred line

The New Day and Wyatts are the Midcard Factions, but I put the New Day more as a tag team than faction, Yes, there's 3 of them, but they're still focused on Tag Teaming, and the 3rd wheel that Xavier Woods usually plays is more of a manager Comedy act than a separate competitor, Even though he can wrestle.

The Wyatts actually do things as a faction though, as in, you see them come out and show muscle, attack, destroy Etc... while the matches they do have are usually assorted throughout the members.

Team Extreme isn't a thing, it was a one or two night affair to just give the Wyatts a bit of the oldschool rub, as I think they're setting up for Bray to become bigger, and giving him some wins over extreme legends gives him a few points with the ECWesque fans.

Team BAD, well, it's a diva faction, whatever, if I wanted to watch Women wrestle, I'd watch nXt.

Outcasts, we'll see, I can't say much on them, but the angle they're running is about as doomed as 3MB was in my opinion, I hope I'm wrong though.

So, really, in the end I don't see the factions being too much bigger than usually, they all have a point, and they're all either authority, or putting over someone. (Outcasts aside, I don't know what they're going to really do yet).

TLDR; not every group is a "Faction"
