Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3's full character roster has apparently been leaked.

The game was announced earlier today at Comic-Con 2011.Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 will include 12 new fighters, eight new stages, spectator mode and a number of gameplay tweaks including character balancing and online netcode improvements.

Four of the new fighters were revealed at Comic-Con: Strider Hiryu, Firebrand, Ghost Rider and Hawkeye.

Shortly after the announcement, images of the full Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 roster began appearing on internet forums due to an apparent error on Capcom's media site. Marvel's Doctor Octopus - long rumored to be a DLC character for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 - was, however, absent from the roster list.

The full roster reportedly includes:

Capcom:
Strider
Firebrand
Vergil
Frank West
Phoenix Wright
Nemesis

Marvel:
Ghost Rider
Hawkeye
Dr Strange
Nova
Rocket Raccoon
Iron Fist

Capcom has since removed the character images from its media page.

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this November at a budget price point.

IGN has also covered the story, including the leaked artwork and a statement from Capcom concerning the leak: http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/118/1182876p1.html#.TidkY6yLCNQ.tweet

"Today we announced Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for PS3 and X360 as well as the first four characters and a playable build for this week's San Diego Comic-Con. As part of that, you may have seen some of our new characters for the game pop up on the Internet a bit earlier than anticipated.

We are very happy with the positive response to the lineup, but at this point we're only going to focus on the four characters (Strider, Firebrand, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye) we have officially revealed. As for the other eight additional characters, we will have a ton of info, videos, screens and playable code in the coming months. Stay tuned!"

Man, I'm really, really excited! For one thing, I don't have MvC3 yet so it's nice that I'll be able to buy a better version at a budget price. For another, take a look at that new roster! Frank West was awesome in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, but the character I'm most excited about is Phoenix Wright! I love the Ace Attorney series, and he should be hilarious in combat, and fun. I can't wait to see his moves and main him. Plus, his inclusion in the game means we might actually be getting some more Ace Attorney games localized in the US.

On the other hand, though, I don't really like the whole trend of releasing a special edition shortly after the original game comes out. I don't think it's fair to those who paid for the Vanilla Edition on launch. I mean, DLC I can understand, but a whole game? Then again, if it's really at the bargain price it's rumored to be at ($30) then it's not like it's a huge investment, especially if Marvel vs. Capcom 3 owners trade in their game for credit.

What do you think?

Phoenix Wright? What's his Hyper Combo gonna be? Object you and get tackled by the bailiff?

To be honest, that's a bit of an underwhelming list of folks. Vergil is gonna be similar to Dante, Wright is the answer to Deadpool (I guess) and the Marvel side has more Avenger characters than anything else. I'd really like for guys like Megaman, Gambit, Carnage and even Samanosuke from Onimusha to have been given a shot. I get they wanted to go with more unknowns (and spark interest for the upcoming Avengers movie), but this seems like it would appeal the deepest of Marvel fans in that end and only new age Capcom fans on the other.

Not only that, but they skipped the Wii and even the 3DS. Hell of a stretch, but Capcom did make almost all the Zelda games on the Gameboy. That would be a chance to add more to Capcom's cross-over fetishes.

I don't know, but besides the characters it doesn't seem like much of an expansion. Looks like Capcom's Street Fighter habits are spreading.

Has far as the characters go, I think they've picked some damn good choices and really did their homework for some of them. Strider is a welcome return, Firebrand looked very promising and Dr. Strange and Vergil should be plain awesome. Just like the original roster, these new additions are totally different from one another and represent their respective franchises very well.

On the other hand, as someone who pre-ordered and purchased the original MvC 3 on day one, I can't help but feel more than a little sleighted. MvC 3 hasn't even been out six months and Capcom's already releasing a better version of it. So in a mere four months, the game I paid a full $60 bucks for is already obsolete. That basically tells me and consumers not to bother purchasing Capcom fighting games at day one since there's likely a better version soon to be announced.

After seeing the excellent way the Mortal Kombat DLC has been handled, it's hard to defend Capcom's approach to add-on content. Why can't these characters be available has both seperate DLC or part of a bundle?

Capcom's official statement is that they're actually tweaking the game engine, along with adding in all sorts of new modes. According to them, it's way too much to include in a simple DLC update. That plus the "bargain" price is their excuse.

I'm not sure I really buy that. Wipeout HD Fury was an expansion pack that added new mode types, new car types, new stages - basically a whole new game - and it did it with DLC. That said, if there is a trade-in deal for Vanilla MvC3 (Maybe if you trade in Vanilla MvC3, you can get Ultimate for $10 or $20) then it's not so bad, especially if you consider how much a DLC like that with new modes and characters and tweaks would cost.

I'm also on Killjoy's side that a few of the characters are underwhelming. I may be marking over Frank West, Strider, Dr. Strange, Ghost Rider, and Phoenix Wright, but where's Gambit? Where's Mega Man? I mean, Tron Bonne is already in the game, so why not include MegaMan Volnutt to provide an antagonist?

I felt the exact same way when I read it. I think that's a weak cast of new guys, and with the super huge roster of characters they could have used, they could have came out with a ton of better characters. But I guess they felt like the bigger name characters would be better for an entirely new game, other than just a recap.

Also, I'm getting extremely tired of these "advanced" copies of games coming out after many people have already payed for the original. From the many street fighters, SF2, SF2Turbo, SF2whateverthehellelsewecancallit, to the recent SF4, SSF4, SF4Arcade, now this? This is getting completely out of control.

Nemesis? My WZCW All Stars character made it in (I'm assuming a total of Doc (maybe) and possibly two other people will get this correct). Phoenix Wright will be very interesting to see as that's not a character that you would particularly assume would be in this. In terms of the Marvel cast, Iron Man is perfectly fine, as is Doc Strange, however, Rocket Racoon? Really? That's way too weird for me. To me there should be at least one more villain, and yet Rocket Racoon's here. Very odd. I'd have liked Bullseye to be included, but that's about it. Everything else looks cool.

after looking at some footage on rider, he looks like mvc's version of scorpion. seems like he would be cool to play with.

to be honest, i dont know who rocket racoon virgil, nova or iron fist is off the top of my head and seeing how there's no footage of them out yet i'll have to wait to figure out how that would work. i think i'll get it, seeing how i never got around to getting the first one, only playing it by my cousin.

much like funkay, i would have liked to see bullseye in.

Look at my user name and figure out how excited I am!!!! But it sucks that Vergil's gonna be added. I had fun with Wesker in his Vergil costume :/ Now I'll have to use the real team DMC. Still pretty badass though.
