We have discussed before if the best team in college football could beat the worst team in the NFL and we have decided that the NFL team would always win out because they have better players.

I will take you in a different direction. With their 81-48 over Duke last night, the UConn women's basketball team won their 57th straight game. They are 18-0 this season winning their games by a margin of almost 40 points per game and their closest game has been 12 points. On the flip side, we have the Alcorn State's men's team who are 0-18 this season (Bryant University is also 0-18 but I'm a Mississippi guy). They are losing by an average margin of almost 29 points per game.

So we have the best of the women against the worst of the men. The ultimate question is who would win in a game between these two teams? It's been said that women couldn't play in the NBA because of the physicality of the men but can the same be said for college basketball? I look at these two teams closely and I can see UConn winning this game. Geno Auriemma is a great coach and Maya Moore is an excellent player and could go down as the greatest women's college basketball player ever. I like their style of play and they defeat everybody by a wide margin ranked or unranked which means no matter the competition, they never take a game off which reminded me of the 1995-1996 Bulls.

In one game on a neutral court, I see UConn beating Alcorn State by the score of 75-72. It will be a close game but I just see Maya Moore being the difference in this game and would be too much for Alcorn State.

1. Could the best women's team beat the worst men's team? If you believe so or you don't, always state reasons why.

2. If UConn and Alcorn State did play in a game, what would the final score be and justify your reason?

1.) Yes, the best women's team could beat the worst men's team in a game of basketball. We've seen big upsets like this in college basketball and just about all other college sports (e.g: App. State over Michigan in football, LeMoyne over Syracuse this year in basketball, and Fresno State winning the National Championship in baseball.) If any team was going to do it, UCONN or Tennessee would be my guess.

2.)If the UCONN women and Alcorn State men basketball teams met in a game on a netural court, and both were playing to win then Alcorn State would win that game hands down. Basketball is a game of match ups and I just don't see UCONN, who's tallest player is only 6'4'', matching up well with a team who has an average height of about 6'3''. I feel that the winning streak and the average margin of victory would be meaningless in this game because they're not playing against a women's team. Auriemma is good and so is Moore but, in order for UCONN to be competitive in this game, they would either need for a.) Alcorn State to have a terrible night from the field and turn the ball over at least 16 times or b.) The ladies add the likes of two or three brittney griner's, a Courtney Paris, a Candice Wiggins, and a Candace Parker. Also, the three point line that would be used during the game would affect each team's gameplan greatly imo. If they use the men's, UCONN would have a tougher time scoring from the outside.

So all in all I would perdict the final score to be 75-51 Braves over the Huskies due to the lack of size for UCONN and the talent level and athletcisim is still in favor of the guys.

I guess anything is possible but this is very very doubtful. I'm not trying to be sexist or anything , but when it comes to sports women are inferior to men. They aren't as big, strong, or athletic. Now matter how bad the men's team is at Alcorn State, they are still Division 1 team. They have mostly scholarship players. The team has a few guys at 6-8 and one at 6-7 that the Uconn women would have a very hard time covering. The speed of the game is also completely different between men and women. I hate saying that something is impossible but this is very close to that. I'd say Alcorn State would easily win by at least 20 points and probably a lot more.
