Sigmund Freud On Ritalin And Roids
We have discussed before if the best team in college football could beat the worst team in the NFL and we have decided that the NFL team would always win out because they have better players.
I will take you in a different direction. With their 81-48 over Duke last night, the UConn women's basketball team won their 57th straight game. They are 18-0 this season winning their games by a margin of almost 40 points per game and their closest game has been 12 points. On the flip side, we have the Alcorn State's men's team who are 0-18 this season (Bryant University is also 0-18 but I'm a Mississippi guy). They are losing by an average margin of almost 29 points per game.
So we have the best of the women against the worst of the men. The ultimate question is who would win in a game between these two teams? It's been said that women couldn't play in the NBA because of the physicality of the men but can the same be said for college basketball? I look at these two teams closely and I can see UConn winning this game. Geno Auriemma is a great coach and Maya Moore is an excellent player and could go down as the greatest women's college basketball player ever. I like their style of play and they defeat everybody by a wide margin ranked or unranked which means no matter the competition, they never take a game off which reminded me of the 1995-1996 Bulls.
In one game on a neutral court, I see UConn beating Alcorn State by the score of 75-72. It will be a close game but I just see Maya Moore being the difference in this game and would be too much for Alcorn State.
1. Could the best women's team beat the worst men's team? If you believe so or you don't, always state reasons why.
2. If UConn and Alcorn State did play in a game, what would the final score be and justify your reason?
