Anyone seen that? Basically it's a special ebay bit thing where you can bid for a celebrity to either follow, retweet or mention you on Twitter for a minimum of 90 days. All the proceeds going to support the kids in Haiti.

My opinion is while it's a noteable cause, it's surely encouraging obsessive fans to empty their pockets for a celebrity who probably wouldn't care less about you.

Currently someone's bidded $1,150.00 on Justin Bieber (Who?).

Your opinions of this? Would you do it? Which celebrity would you bid for if they're available to?

Me personally, I'd be happy to give to charity, but for a fake befriending with a celeb? Hmm, rather not.

If it's for charity, I can't complain. It may be stupid but it helps people who need it so I can't complain there.

Id rather spend money to have dinner with a celebrity than talk to them on twitter. A lot more can be covered in a 2 hour dinner conversation than on the internet in 140 characters or less, even over the course of 90 days.

Who would I pick for a dinner? Take a wild guess.

I'd rather just give money to charity than play make-believe with Michael Douglas.

Although I think we can all agree that Michael Douglas needs Twitter.

It's one of those Good/Bad situations.. Yes there's a lot going to charity, and a good cause at that. But as you said, you're going to have people throwing money into it for different reasons. Some of them don't even care about the charity at hand, but rather their fantasy of this celebrity.. Beiber is a little boy who can apparently sing. Really he's just another Disney tool.

If I were to do it though? Probably made a bid for someone different from most. Denzel Washington, or go far left field and say.. Lars Ulrich. Hell, since it's for charity, I'd say the guys from CSR. Only because they would mention it on the show, which would draw more attention to the cause.
