Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
In case no one noticed, this match was announced last night on Impact, during the segment where Homicide interrupted Don West, and threatened him. Homicide even took his ID out of his wallet, so he knows where he lives if he tries to stop the match from happening.

I like it...Amazing Red has been on a roll lately, and so has Homicide. They've worked well together over the last few weeks, and with Don West on the mic, there's a chance for a really good story to build. Also, by putting this belt on the line in a regular wrestling match, it gives Red the chance to retain, and make himself a legit champ.

There's no gimmick to blame, no one else to interfere, and no one else in the match. I expect Red to retain, but wouldn't be too surprised if Homicide wins his belt back.

I am really looking forward to this match. In fact it can kind of give a little more prestige to the X title. They haven't really had a one on one straight up match for the title in a while. Both guys can work so it should be a great match. I hope they don't take the title off of Red already otherwise this time with the title was pointless.

Awful. I hate Homicide with a passion. Fucker should be thrown in prison before Turning Point for stealing from Don West. Some of the stuff I've seen Homicide do simply has no place in professional wrestling, and this is coming from a very understand and easy-going guy.

Amazing Red for the win. Let's hope this recent push doesn't end here. Although with the WE stuff "gaining stream" (getting pushed hard), I could totally see a Homicide win. *pukes*

Wow, odd, I don't even remember this match being announced. Guess I should pay more attention. Oh well, I like both of these men, so this could very well be a damn good match. I'm really glad to see Red making a resurgence in the company, he may not be the most marketable of wrestlers but damnit if he isn't one of the most entertaining TNA has.

Should be a good match. I imagine Red will retain here.

Hopefully Red will retain here, as he is the nostalgic favorite and a throwback to the beginning of the X Division. I think he could have a long run with the belt...and there's really no wrong way to book him, as he just seems to be the underdog going into every match.

Homicide, on the other hand, is also talented and I enjoy his gimmick. He of course fits in well with the World Elite, as sort of a heavy-handed gangster who can push their agenda on others. It's kinda difficult to imagine him not winning the title, either. I think though in the end the W goes to Red so he can be built and seen as a credible champ.

This match got a few minutes to build tonight, and it was all a little...Odd?...I guess that's the word. Homicide looked strong against Lashley, but no one expected him to win. He ended up getting nailed with one of the best chokeslams I've seen in a while, and then slapped around Hebner after Lashley ran off.

It didn't end there though. Amazing Red came out and the two squared off in a nice little segment. I think it helps to build Homicide going into the PPV, but I can see how it would puzzle some people...

There doesn't really seem to be much of a build up for this match. It'll probably be a pretty good and competitive match overall, but I probably won't give a damn about it 5 minutes later.

Red's lost a non-title match to Homicide already, so there's more than a good chance of him retaining the title in this match. Red needs to go over here, otherwise it's just yet another wasted run with the X-Division title.

I'll admit the build-up has been a little awkward for this match, but you really shouldn't sleep on it. While it hasn't been a hot button issue, Amazing Red has skated by on gimmick matches and flashy moves. Now he's forced to face a true heel, and there's no gimmick to fall back on.

Hopefully Red retains, and proves he belongs as a champion. A win by Homicide buries Red behind the long list of faces in the X Division...

I agree, a Homicide win taking the belt does nothing but the option to have a DQ victory is clearly there as is a fluke for Red.

Red and West need to get revenge on 'Cide, who should look decent even if he loses. i like this side of his heel work and think he does it well.

It should be a good match. These two work well together and their style mesh well. The build up has been good, even if the Lashley thing was wholly unnecessary.

Apparently Homicide is going to steal something here, that's what he's been doing recently. Ya, that's pretty stupid. Homicide's singles push has more or less failed and his last title run sucked, so I don't see why he'd win here. Amazing Red is insanely over with the Impact crowd and can do some pretty cool stuff. I'd imagine he has to win here, that's the only logical thing.

This match kind of reminds me of the old days of wrestling when there wasn't always a big story behind a title match, just enough to make it work. I think these two can put on a good enough match to make it work without a huge amount of build up.

Woooooo! Amazing Red retained!

I've said a few times that Red was hiding behind the multi-man matches, but he really showed his stuff here. He was controlling the match pretty much from bell to bell, and came up with a big win in the end. Homicide was built up as a strong challenger coming in, and now Red is a legit champ.

I only ask, where he goes from here. He's not going to hold the belt forever, and we've all seen the lack of competitive heels in the X Division.

Damn solid match here, great way to get the show started. The crowd was really into it which always helps, and Don West continues to show that he can be a great part of TNA in his new role as Red's manager. Great back and forth action, and though there was a couple of brief stumbles here and there, this was a really, really enjoyable match. Red retaining was the right move as well, and I'm glad to see they aren't going to turn him back into a jobber.

3.5/5

This match was actually really good I thought but I am a mark for Red so there. You could see some of the spots from a mile off but it didnt do any harm to it. Was a great match between two different styles of X division wrestling. The ending was also well done with Red pulling it really well. It's a shame we didn't get to see the Infared as its possibly my favourite move ever. Red winning was the best choice as he should be used as a proper champion which he has done recently. Just a really good match. Out of a possible 5 stars it gets 4 stars.
