Turning Point: TNA Heavyweight Championship Match

TNA World Heavyweight Champion "The Icon" Sting vs "The Phenomenal" A.J Styles

I am highly interested in this match. I'd rather watch Styles wrestling Sting over Joe anyday. I think this match has great potential to be a very good one on one bout. It's almost as if this match is too big for Turning Point. But hey it's TNA, so I'll live with it. This is just one of many matches between the Main Event Mafia and the 'Young Guys'.

This could be entertaining and I can see this being the match of the night that should go for longer than 20 minutes in duration. Styles would make a good TNA Champion, but I doubt he will win in here. So Sting retains in what should be the best match on the night.

Yeah, should be great. I'm not a huge Sting fan, If find him to be a bit dull. But he's at least solid. Even in TNA where he appears to be putting forth less effort than he did in the later days of WCW.

But this match looks really intresting. Styles is one of those wrestlers who is really losing out by being in TNA. He does so much good work, and it's all for shit in that promotion.

The problem I have with this match is that to end this angle, Sting needs to lose the belt. It should be to Styles, it'll have less effect if it's not on his first time of trying.

I'm split on this match. Styles is the Golden Boy of TNA, no questions asked. People talk about Angle and Joe dominating and winning all the titles. AJ has done that three times. He is the greatest X Division guy ever, a three time World Champion, and the one guy that TNA couuld put on a poster and say this is what we have that is different from WWE. When this angle comes to a close, there is absolutely no question that Styles should be the one to take the title from Sting.

Which makes me think, why then is this Sting's first defense? This storyline should go on at least 5-6 months, with Sting beating guys like Sabin, like Williams, like Shelley (not on PPV mind you, but on tv), and saving the big matches, like Joe, Styles, Jarrett, Foley, for PPVs. TNA is notorious for hot shotting big matches, and this is no exception. Still should easily steal the show, as these are probably your two most reliatble guys in the company.

I see Sting getting the win. I personally think they need to let all of the Main Event Mafia win there matches to get over there stable. Remeber when the NWO came back and there first matches was at Wrestlemania and Hall and Hogan both lost.

On a side note does anyone else think Sting should just lose the paint? He was out last week with no paint on and sunglasses. Every interview he does not have it on and then for the mtach he is wearing the stuff. it would be like a masked wrestler not wearing his mask any instead of the match. Maybe it is just me but kinda of a little annoying to me.

I would love to see AJ Styles win the world title. But the time isnt right. TNA needs Sting to have a long title reign. That would get the Main Event Mafia over as hated heels. I see Sting and AJ having a great match at Turning point. It will probably end with a DQ or screw job. Hopefully this wont be AJ's last title match for a while. AJ is a great wrestler and has greatly improved on the mic. He's the future of TNA and they should use this storyline to put the title on him around Lockdown. If they kept the title on Sting that long the fans would be rioting for a title change. This would probably make AJ Styles TNA's biggest face and the clear future of the company.

I really wanted Styles to be the guy that takes the title from Sting but not right now. TNA does hurry things up too much, they should have waited some more to build up the feud. TNA sometimes rushes things to soon and I think they should have builded this up big times since you have one of the biggest Icons in TNA vs. one of the biggest future stars you think they wouldn't waste it. Regardless, I see the match being good, since Sting is still a good worker and AJ is very exciting and will get the fans going.

I really cant wait for this match this and cage vs booker is probably the only reason i would even order turning point. I see this being a very solid match both are great wrestlers i can easily see this being match of the year. But i agree with what has been said here about holding this off. I doubt sting would lose his title this early so this match should have been held off until there really ready to give styles the title. Hopefully if sting does beat styles they make styles start chasing for a title shot over the course of a few months till he can finally get his rematch and take the title.
