Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
This match was just announced on Impact, and I can't wait to see it. Tara has been on a roll, and Kong has been great the last few weeks since dumping Raisha as her handler.

Both women can perform on PPV, and both are solid workers, and with the feud bubbling over, a cage match is perfect. I'd expect Tara to get the win though, if only to further the feud. If Kong wins, she'd have to decimate Tara to keep the character going, and Tara shouldn't be off TV for any lengthy amout of time.

This could be decent. Six sides of steel is atleast mildly entertaining, and I think both women can put on a good match. I'm not expecting anything spectacular here though, most likely this will be boring if the last few Knockout PPV matches are any indicator.

To be fair, it wasn't really anyone's fault the last match failed to live up to the hype. TNA was doing too much there. This match could really be good, with both women working tough styles, and coming off like they legit hate each other. As Tara was diving off the top rope I was about to post in the LD "This needs a cage match", and then Tenay beat me to it.

I'm obviously psyched for this match. I love the Six Sides Of Steel, and I'm a big fan of Tara and Kong...

While I can't say for certain, but this looks to an historic first. I don't think any other women's match has ever been held inside a steel cage. If ever there were two women who could carry this off, it's Tara and Kong. I hope this one is -- to quote JR -- "a barn-burner."

This has bee done before. Lita vs victoria on Raw oulete was first ever womens cage match i believe. Then jacqueline vs gail kim at lockdown one year. They then have had traditional cage matches as pat of lockdown in the years to follow

I believe this match could be pretty good, both are great knock outs, whom could have a great match especially in the six sides of steel. This is most probably going to be a hard hitting match with use of the cage, which could work very well with these two. I'm expecting Tara to win but I wouldn't be shocked if Kong won.

There has been women steel cages matches before

Victoria vs Lita (1st Ever Womens Steel Cage Match)
Queen Of The Cage 08 (Roxxi won)
Queen Of The Cage 09 (O.D.B won)
Jacqueline vs Gail Kim (Lockdown)
Gail Kim & O.D.B vs Awesome Kong & Raisha Sieed (Lockdown 08)
Taylor Wilde vs Angelina Love vs Awesome Kong (Lockdown 09)

Anyway, i think match is gunna be great and makes me wanna watch the show.. its got a great build-up and both ladies can pull it off and have a amazing match! but my thoughts are, why did they not have this match at Bound For Glory? it would have been alot more exciting.. and they should have had the 6-Tag K.O All Belts match at B.O.F aswell IMO

Really looking forward to this one. I thought it might be one on one at BFG, but I'm glad this feud has had more time to devlop. Tara has been on a role lately (so glad she left WWE) and now that Kong doesn't have Raisha by her side anymore, she has been unleashed once again. This could be a really good match. I hope this feud goes on for a little while longer because it's proabably been the best in the Knockout division for a while now.

I am utterly amazed at the lack of love this match is getting. Awesome Kong, undoubtedly the best female wrestler working right now, against a legitimate contender in a steel cage. Tara has trained for MMA, and did serious weightlifting before joining WWE. This match has blood and violence written all over it, and this thread gets 7 posts :disappointed:

I stand by Tara getting the win, barely. Kong is going to come at her full force, and do what Batista couldn't do, and that's properly channel a caged beast...

Ha, you're such a mark NSL. Awesome Kong the best female wrestler working today? Are you high? She isn't even the best worker in TNA, let alone in the entire industry. You really should check out more indy wrestling, the things women like Sara Del Ray can do make Kong look like The Great Khali.

What does Tara training for MMA have to do with this match?

Blood and violence? More like a piss break. There isn't going to be a drop of blood in this match, it'll probably be about five minutes long. This is going to be a piss break for the most of us NSL.

Will you stop slashing my hopes and dreams? First it's all about Hogan, and now this.

Of course I know who Del Rey is. I stand by my point of Kong being the best worker in women's wrestling right now. Tara's MMA training means she knows how to work stiff. I'm assuming you know what that is, so I won't go into detail.

This is a cage match, X. Working stiff is great for this environment, allowing bigger bumps, and better spots. This is going to be a brawl, and I'd bet vCash someone bleeds.

I can't help it when you say silly things.

A) How can you possibly think Kong is the best worker in women's wrestling? Her arsenal consists of punch, chop, slam. She's like a female version of Batista or Khali. Pick any worker you like from the indies, odds are they're better workers than Kong.

B) I've never seen Tara work stiff, and even if she were, how is that relevant to this cage match?

Come on NSL, these are women wrestlers. They rarely if ever blade, and it's not going to happen here either. I'm telling you NSL, you're getting your hopes up here, this is going to be given at max about ten minutes.

Who really wants a brawl to go 10 minutes anyway? I want to see a 5 minute slugfest with someone getting slammed into the cage hard enough to bleed.

And, note that I did not call Kong the best wrestler, just the best worker. Honestly, I feel the best wrestler is LuFisto, but she's not employed by TNA, so whatever.

Tara and Kong are going to put on a really good match, potentially opening the show. It'll get the crowd hyped, and will set up whatever follows.

Calm down fellas, lol.

I think it will be the best womans match on the show (not sayiing much) and should give real competition to the Flash vs Hamada if it is booked correctly.

Both know how to work and look like it hurts so it should be entertaining. It's nice to see a cage match booked at the right time in a feud as well, so TNA deserves kudos for that.

I'm a little surprised that the KO title match at BFG didnt lead to one of these two being champ, therefore the belt being involved here is curious to me. But not since Gail Kim and Kong have we seen a great KO feud and I believe this is the first proper feud that doesn't involve the belt, that's always good to see too.

Should be a pretty decent match. I'm a big fan of Kong and she should probably be used in more gimmick type matches, I think that's where she's best. Six Sides of Steel is a pretty good move. Tara really does nothing for me, but I suppose she's ok. You'd think Kong should go over here, but who the hell knows.

I believe Tara's still in that "We got a WWE star, let's push them big time" mode. Not that she doesn't deserve it. She's still an excellent wrestler, especially for being one of the oldest active women wrestlers out there. And then there's Kong who plays the monster woman role perfectly...though I still can't see her without remembering her being Margaret in HUSTLE. lol. Anyway, I'm gonna go with Kong in this one.

This match surprised me. I figured Tara would win, continuing their feud, and now I'm stoked. Tara apparently used a big spot to end the match, and we can all expect Kong to keep up her rampage this week on Impact.

She won't be happy about the loss, and Tara hold the edge in their feud. No one else is on either of their levels right now, so it's only fitting to keep it going.

This was decent. Nothing particularly memorable. A few nice spots here and there, but just as I predicted the match was overall underwhelming. Tara winning was nice though, I'd always had a soft spot for her and I'd like to see her as the KO champ, certainly wouldn't be any worse than having ODB as champ.

I really don't understand what the point of the cage was though. They barely used it. It served no purpose.

2/5

If this is true (and I have no reason to think otherwise), then I have to give you the credit you deserve, and say you called it. I was hoping the cage would be a huge part of the match, and that they would both do their best tro dominate each other.

The only thing I can think of, was that one of them had a lingering injury coming in, and they were trying to be safe. Thinking back to their stuff on Impact, I don't see where it could have happened though, so we're stuck waiting to see if there's a future for this feud.

This match was pretty good in my opinion, it was nothing special but wasn't bad at all. It was a pretty good brawl between two knockouts, with some pretty nice spots, I am glad Tara won as her ass looked great. Looking forward to a second match between the two. out of 5 stars, I give it 2.5.
