Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

If there's one thing that is correct about this film that IGN.com stated, too much of something can be bad, and this is the problem with this film.

Overall, the action sequences are superb and the fighting is alot better in terms of filming and editing, but how did they level it out? With some of the most over the top crudest jokes ever!! Seriously, the more they came out with one thing, the more I was questioning whether kids should see this, parents certainly wouldn't like their kids speaking some of the stuff coming out of this.

The next issue I had was that there was so many Transformers, the film did not have enough places to put them, you forget where half of them are, some just seemed to be there for purpose sake. I was also shocked to realise when I was waiting in anticipation for Soundwave, he was right there in front of me all along! Where this issue comes, it feels like so much drags on, especially when the main essence of the plot comes through (which I won't spoil) because they could have lost a good 20-40 minutes to keep the plot interesting, or much to at least get nearer the end.

In short, I was quite disappointed as the first film I thought was great, but this one was too much and little to give. Prob explains Michael Bay going off leaving it like this.

Bit worth watching:
- Action/Fighting sequences
- Graphics - All 148 Trillabytes of them!
- Megan Fox
- Modern references

Not so-watchable
- Jokes, and alot of testicle ones!
- Too many Bots for purpose sake
- Plot dragging out

Your thoughts?

I give the film a 7 out of 10. Not quite as good as the first one, in my opinion. Too much Action and not enough Plot.

One of the things I don't like about the two Transformers films is that at least in the cartoon, I had no difficulty whatsoever in telling who each of the Autobots and Decepticons were in battle. In the films, I have to try to focus much harder on exactly who is fighting who. Like towards the end, I had difficulty in telling when Optimus was fighting Megatron and when he was fighting the Fallen, as I had problems telling those two apart from each other.

I have heard that the amount of sexual and crude humor/scenes was a concern amongst kids, but other than the scenes in the beginning with Alice, what was really the big deal? Even that wasn't really that bad. They were making out. By the way, the film was Rated PG-13, and everything in that film came within that rating. I think WWE's PG rating and this over-nannying to kids all of a sudden has gone to people's heads. Kids need to start growing up at some point. And by 13, most kids are either in 8th or 9th grade, and have begun the process of making out with each other. As far as Kids under 13, well that is why we have the rating and Parents were cautioned in advance.

Gave it a 3/5, not as good as the original film but still very enjoyable. The more criticism I hear about the film, the more I like it though. Some of the shit these critics are bringing up is RIDICULIOUS. I literally just read a review where the guy criticized the film for not being believable enough. That's right, this guy wants realism in a film about GIANT ALIEN ROBOTS DUELING. Oh, and he also criticized the film for having too many explosions....WHAT?! It's a Michael Bay movie, what the hell did you expect? That's like criticizing a slasher film for having too many people die, WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING?!

Obviously it's just stupid summer movie popcorn fun, but that's all I wanted out of it. The only complaint I have is that I wish they had spent just a tad bit more time with Sam at college, I was really enjoying that atmosphere. Rainn Wilson's cameo was great too. And Megan Fox was of course incredibly ridiculiously hot as usual.

But yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. Delivered on everything I wanted out of it.

So, I saw it yesterday as well.

Overall, it's just like the first one... great teen comedy, horrible action movie.

I cannot express enough how much distain I have for the majority of the action scenes in these two films. First of all and most importantly, like Lord Sidious said... it's damn near impossible to distinguish the robots when they're fighting each other. Michael Bay did a fucking terrible job at not making each robot different look wise. Also, just like in the first one... the final fight scene ran on way too fucking long. The film had a great pace until that point.

But still... I didn't go to see this for the action. I already knew I wasn’t going to like it if that was all I wanted to see. If I want a good action movie that involves robots, then I'll pop in any of the 4 Terminators or Robocop (Off Topic: Can’t wait for Darren Aronofsky’s remake of this film). No... I went to see this for two reasons: 1. The comedy, and 2. Megan Fox's hotness. And the movie did not disappoint in either aspect, so…. I was satisfied at the end of the day. I still heavily prefered the first one, however.

Being the massive fan of Transformers I am since I was 6, I must say I loved this movie.

The casting for the voices was excellent with Frank Welker who was the original Megatron from the original cartoon series doing the voice for Soundwave (He also played Soundwave in the 80's cartoon too) was just excellent. Hugo Weaving is a great Megatron as well. Frank Welker's Megatron voice just wouldn't have fitted this incarnation of Megatron.

Also one point that was brought up was telling the difference between robots when they were fighting like the scene with Optimus vs. Megatron and The Fallen. Really, it's not that hard to tell the difference between them. I have bad vision and even I could tell the difference. Maybe that's just me though, being the obsessive fan of Transformers.

I was suprised with all the more adultish jokes and the swearing because we didn't really get that much in the first movie. Only a *********ion reference if I remember correctly.

Can't wait to see what they do in the next film.

I liked it, it was pretty much like I expected 2 and a half hours of giant robots blowing each other up, and TBH that's all it really should be, I mean it's fucking Transformers it's not suppose to be some award winning film built around a deep meaningful storyline, it's just suppose to be a good clean big budget blow 'em up fun action flick, and that's exactly what it is, I think if you liked the first one you'll more than likely have fun with this one too, it's definitely the type of movie that is more fun to see on the big screen
