Top 5 Songs.

World-Class Jobber.
Really out of the blue thread here, but it always interests me.
Tell me what you're favourite 5 songs are. If you have any reasoning behind it, let me know. If not, just list them, up to you. (Don't have to be in order, just your Top 5)

Mine are;

1) Master of Puppets - Best Metallica song ever? I think so. Thrashing Guitar riffs, that lovely little soft part, and the shout of MASTER! MASTER! gets me everytime.
2) Jesus of Suburbia - I like songs that tell a story, this tells one very well. Also, has a great music video to accompany it.
3) Stairway to Heaven - Speaks for itself.
4) Living is a Problem Because Everything Dies - Song that made Biffy Clyro stars, despite releasing 2 albums before it.
5) Hit Me Baby One More Time - 'Cos everyone has a guilty pleasure.

1. A Change Is Goin' Come, by Sam Cooke. Beautiful song. My favorite artist ever and his incredible voice just ripping the lyrics off of the page. Incredible song.

2. The Show Must Go On, by Queen. Love the sound, and his voice is obviously incredible. Also the fact that he was dying as he was finishing the song is remarkable, considering the range in the song.

3. N.Y. State Of Mind, by Nas. Love the beat, his raw energy and delivery. DJ Premier is one of my favorite producers and Nas is my favorite rapper. The two really go well together and it's one of the best opening songs to an album that I've ever heard. So, I have to get it on the list.

4. Ohh Child, by Marvin Gaye. Love the groove, makes getting over a tough day seem easy. The sound, the voice. It all works. Absolutely love the song.

5. Keep Ya Head Up, by 2Pac. Love the message and I enjoy the fact that he kept the feeling of the song very real and male-respectable, while talking about respecting women. It was very well written and I love the "Ohh Child" interpretation for the chorus.

At the moment

1) Hate Worldwide - Slayer
2) Creeping Death - Metallica
3) Blackened - Metallica
4) Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica
5) Public Display of Dismemberment - Slayer

Love The Smiths, not heard of the other 4 songs :p

1: Johnny Cash - I Hung My Head
2: Bob Dylan - The Hurricane
3: Bobby Darin - Somewhere Beyond the Sea
4: Scorpions - Rock You Like a Hurricane
5: Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Dani California

1. Confessions - Sevendust
2. Splinter - Sevendust
3. Prey - 10 Years
4. No More Love - Shinedown
5. Forever - Sevendust

My favorite band is Shinedown, but I'm on a Sevendust binge at the moment.

Sevendust kicks ass

Let me think here...

1. November Rain - Guns N' Roses
2. Sevendust - Licking Cream
3. Incubus - The Warmth
4. Cold - Stupid Girl
5. Shinedown - Call Me

because I did say that my I am fickle with my favourite songs

1. Holy Man (Taylor Hawkins version) - Dennis Wilson
2. Nowadays Can't even sin - Buffalo Springfield
3. Last Chance to Evacuate Planet Earth Before it is Recycled - Porcupine Tree
4. A Forest - The Cure
5. Changes - Black Sabbath

And yes that Taylor Hawkins is the Drummer for the Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins, he did the vocals for an Instrumental song by Dennis Wilson and it is awesome.

Can't Get Next to You- The Temptations
God Only Knows- The Beach Boys
Dazed and Confused- Led Zeppelin
Fairies Wear Boots- Black Sabbath
Southern Man- Neil Young

There are a whole bunch of songs that I could put in my top five, but every time I hear these songs , I invariably have an emotional reaction of some sort, be it joy, anger, sorrow, etc. I tend to turn up the volume on any of these old gems, too.

and just to show how fickle I am with my top 5

1. Sever - Porcupine Tree
2. The Bends - Radiohead
3. Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced - Dropkick Murphys
4. How Can you mend a Broken Heart - Diana Krall
5. She Sings At the Sun - Fun Lovin Criminals

No particulary order:

1.- Foo Fighters- Best of You
2.- Guns N Roses- November Rain
3.- Led Zeppelin- Since I've Been Loving You
4.- Megadeth- Tornado of Souls
5.- Joey Arroyo- Rebelión

Come on at least one song in spanish!!!

1. Should've Been A Cowboy - Toby Keith

4. Hotel California - The Eagles

5. Renegade - Styx

1. Some Things Never Change - The Forecast

2. Jesus - Brand New

3. Four Winds - Bright Eyes

4. Let It Be - The Beatles

I'll have to get back at you for number 5, I'm afraid I'm leaving a great song out. But I know it will probably be an oldie, most likely Frankie Valli.

Hit Em Up - 2pac
Nuthin' But A G Thang - Snoop Dogg featuring Dr Dre
300 Bars - The Game
Straight Outta Compton - NWA
Party Up (Remix) - DMX featuring Eminem and Ice Cube.
