Too Much Blame

Straightedge perfection
I've read alot of post and articles recently about people saying WWE dropped the ball on a number of things but mainly with not having the Rock and Cena face eachother at Wrestlemania and by not having Sting come to the WWE.

I don't understand all of this because it's not 100% WWE I'm pretty sure that the Rock would have to agree to wrestle a match and Sting would have to agree to join WWE. Who's to say that WWE didn't try to get both of these things to happen and the Rock just doesn't want to wrestle another match like he has said numerous times and Sting just doesn't want to be in WWE like he has stated numerous times.

So my question is do you think people are blaming to much on the WWE or am I just not blaming them enough?

I don't recollect anyone saying that at all.

The Rock has been saying for the last year or so that he'd host, he wasn't interested in wrestling. He had already done everything as a wrestler and he had moved on. The fans presumption is that he'd come back and be tempted to get back in the ring, mostly due to the reaction of the crowd.

The Rock at the moment, I can't see wrestling. It's obvious that he'll hit the Rock Bottom on Cena at Wrestlemania though. I wouldn't be surprised to see him feature on another episode of RAW, but WWE can't force someone to wrestle. And in a year which they lack "big" matches and features The Rock returning is perfect for them. Its gotten exposure and loads of older fans will tune in to watch The Rock at Wrestlemania.

And the same for Sting. Sting can't be forced to show on WWE TV, no matter what he's offered. Sure, Sting Vs Undertaker would be a massive match but as many have said, unless Sting wanted to be in front of 70,000 people one last time; because TNA will never do that, NEVER! Then he has no real reason for joining WWE, other than that and money.

WWE didn't drop the ball. The Rock is back, him not wrestling is his decision. Sting doesn't want to come to WWE, his decision.

WWE are powerless.

The IWC would have to blame themselves, WWE never really told us Rock will wrestle and Sting will return (tbh Rock said himself he won't wrestle). Obviously you would be disappointed yeah but not, like some people, "quit watching wrestling altogether".

All in all the people who hoped those two things would happen have got to blame themselves for over hyping a fantasy.

Anyone who was dissapointed has only themselves to blame.

It was clear that Sting wasn't coming. There were countless reports about how WWE had in no way contacted Sting and ,quite frankly, why would WWE want him anyways? Is he going to beat The Undertaker? Fuck no and Sting wouldn't want to show up just to lose to 'Taker. People jump to conclusions and let their imaginations get the better of them.

As for The Rock, it is pretty ridiculous to get upset over anything regarding a Cena/Rock match. The Rock straight up said he was going to be a guest host for Wrestlemania. Nothing more . Am I the only one who listens to what is advertised ? The Rock said he would never wrestle again on several occasions too. Do people think he was just saying it to psyche them out? Belive it or not, some people's word actually means something in this buisness. Take things for what they are and not what you thought it was going to be. It's just a T.V. show at the end of the day.

So in conclusion, yes, there is too much blame. People seem to develope these ideas (like a Cena/Rock match or Sting appearing) and than they go from "That would be cool to see" to "If this doesn't happen I'm never going to watch anything WWE again!".

Get a clue.

Its mainly the IWC just being ******ed. They hear a whisper about something and turn it into a fact and then they're disappointed when it doesn't happen. Thats exactly what happened with the whole Sting thing. No one said he was coming but people assumed he was. Now the Rock is back and running his mouth so people assume he's gonna wrestle again, which he probably won't. It's mainly just people being stupid, and who better to blame than a nameless corporation! Some people just need something to bitch about.

The fans who were hoping for a Rock/Cena match should have known better. The Rock has been out of the ring for 7 years. Him having a match against ANYONE isn't necessary. He made his reputation in WWF/E with his mouth more than his ring skills. He doesn't need a match; all he needs is a microphone, an audience and someone to trash.

As for Sting, he's over 50 and has made it clear in the past he doesn't want to work for WWE. Part of why he's in TNA is the lighter schedule. He's said in interviews that he was offended by the way WWE treated the WCW guys during the Invasion (his example was the Rock asking "Who in the blue hell are you?" to Booker T). If Sting was ever going to work for Vince, he would have done it by now. And if he ever does sign with WWE, it will be on a "legends" contract, sort of like what Kevin Nash just signed.

These so called "Smart-marks" who jump to conclusions and write these articles about what they think should or shouldn't happen or WWE dropped the ball need to shut up and get a clue.

Sting (while it would be awesome to see him in a WWE Ring) was never going to come in in time for Wrestlemania to work a program with anyone. However I think Sting should wise up and beg Vince for a Contract or a Legends deal if he wants his Career to truly be remembered with a DVD and whatever else comes with it.

The Rock, which I am so glad he is back and doing something with WWE again has said he wasn't going to Wrestle a Match. Anyone hoping he would needs to get a clue as well. Rock being involved with Wrestlemania as The Host is good enough for me,he doesn't need to have a Match at this point right now (not that he is old or over the hill like some in TNA).

My biggest thing is that WWE in NO WAY WHATSOEVER promised, or even HINTED at Sting coming to WWE. Sure, the promos were kind of suggestive, but Undertaker and Sting's "Crow" character were very similar at points, so it's not WWE's fault for using something that they have done before to hype the return of one of their greatest intellectual properties, The Undertaker. People saw candles and went "OMG! IT'S STING!" If having candles signals that Sting is coming, then Sting must be coming to my house. Bottom line is people see what they want to see, and the immature ones whine when they don't get what they convinced themselves that they were being promised.

Now, on to The Rock. He has said on numerous occasions, for several years, in fact, that he will never wrestle again. Will this hold true? Maybe. I, for one, hope so, simply for the fact that it would add to the integrity of the business to actually have someone keep their word when they say they're done wrestling. Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley, Ric Flair, and the GOD of retirement, Terry Funk have all "retired" on numerous occasions. I would like to see The Rock wrestle another match just as much as the next person would, but realistically, I don't think it's going to happen. Will he come back more often now that he's hosting WrestleMania? Leading up to the event, undoubtedly. After the event? There's no guarantees, but I wouldn't put it past Vince to sneak some kind of "Special Appearances" clause into Rock's WrestleMania contract. If you ask me, a legends contract, along with merchandising agreements, and a Hall Of Fame induction next year, could definitely be in store for The Rock.

I think they are being blamed too much because too much is being expected.

WWE would do whatever they could to make Wrestlemania as big as it possibly could be. WWE can't change other men's convictions or beliefs. I think WWE would like to have Rock Vs. Cena. It would probably be the BIGGEST draw in years. Also, I believe they would love to have Sting. I am sure WWE would LOVE to be the company that puts together such dream matches as Sting Versus Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena, Randy Orton etc...
