Getting Noticed By Management
Last night TNA debuted a new set. Their old set looked very indy fed. and i personaly thought it looked like crap. But this new set has a fresh more big leauge feel to it. Their old entrance videos , backstage segments , opening video , etc. Used to be very poor quality and looked like a 10 year old with photoshop made them. But i think the new videos look pretty decent. They no longer have video game clips in them , Thats a huge plus. Overall im very pleased with TNA's new and improved Impact zone. It makes them actualy look like a legit big name promotion.

What do you think ?

I love it. I agree that it makes them look more big league. I like how they have the two entrances on each side then the wrestler walks out and walks to the center of the stage. I don't know if it's just me, but the Impact zone looked a lot bigger than usual.

Well I really enjoy the new set...I also like how they only have one entrance now but with the two tunnels for heels and faces...I like since they did that you could see they added a whole new bleacher setup on the right of the hard TV side which was tarped this week but most likely because it was brand new and they probably didn't even have time to sell tickets there..

The other things I liked were how they made the old bleachers MUCH bigger and made it so center ringside was only about 5 people deep(I think that's what made it look bigger shanti07) And the new titantron is so much more professional and it seems like they could have better pyro technics now as I heard with the old set that was a problem..

Overall...It's a giant leap for TNA and the new MEM vs Young guys storyline I see Great great things coming out of that...Future is looking up..enough said

The titantron could use a little work, but overall it's a vast improvement over what they had. They condensed the room that they used for the opposite side entrances by having both on the same side with split tunnels. It's their way of holding on to the old concept but give a a fresh new look. Pyros' on entrances as the HD really shows the vast difference. I liked the new digital board over the audience and the side boards on the rampway. You could tell that whoever worked on this didn't just look at WWE's and try to recreate it. They analyzed what worked and added some additions of their own. The HD comes off REALLY good on tv, so they will have to step up their game in a couple of other areas. But as long as they let Angelina and Velvet do their entrances with the closeups that they had last night, then I guess I can let everything else slide for now. But don't get to comfortable.

I really like it. I think it looks great. Really, I do.

I'll see if there are some decent pictures to post later. It just seems much higher class and big time than their old set. I'll say it's better than their typical PPV set up even. All the digital stuff with the titantrons is kind of cool; I'm easily impressed. Practically, I don't think there was any reason to keep the two tunnels. Aesthetically though, it looks cool and different.

No longer does the iMPACT! zone look tacky and cheap. Like WrestleMania 23, it's all grown up.

Ditto on every post.

The new look gives the Impact Zone a fresh feel and you can tell they put some thought into the design. It's another step up in TNA's growing process. Is it perfect? Of course not. Could it be better? Definatly. But I like this new set and hope soon TNA can start hosting their shows in bigger venues.

I thought the set looked amazing. My gripe with TNA is they always had cheap looking plasma screens. Now they have a nice big one at the entrance and anotehr super widescreen one at the top... it looks great...

It has improved leaps and bounds compared to their last one. While i am not crazy about the one heel tunnel and one face tunnel it makes them different and that is what there aiming for. Titantrons can use some work they have a nice screen in the center but really nothing to show on it. Overall great improvement makes them look like they are in the big leagues.

BTW they dont sell tickets to impact. Impact is free at universal studios in Orlando. I didnt notice the tarp but it was prolly that they didn't have that section set up yet. And yes one side of the center of the crowd was reallly shallow as they had the production crew around there with computers and such, i don't know if they changed that.

This new set up was a biiiiig upgrade. Before it looked low budget, low rent, like it was trying to be WCW in it's early days but they couldn't quite get the money so they went to Home Depot. It made the whole thing look much more professional, and it is a fresh new change. It also makes the company appear to be growing as it can now afford to get that change. The thing I noticed however that was quite revealing of the whole scenario was that the crowd was dead. Obviously they papered the crowd to make it look like a sell out which it wasn't. And it seemed like the crowd wasn't really into it all that much. They didn't seem to know who or when to boo or cheer. Did anyone else notice that they cheered the Main Event Mafia, and booed the New Bloods. They still have a lot of work to do. They have got to get those people into it, they have got to find a way to sell those tickets. They are sold too, what do you think they don't tour? Of course they do. They are in a different town all the time, unless I am mistaken. At any rate, I like the change it makes it look classier and like a legit company.

Agree with most, that the set change is a vast improvement from before. It now does not look as cheap and the new set actually gives off a "we are the second biggest company" vibe. I don't think it's going to help the ratings or anything but when people are flicking channels and TNA comes on, they are not going to instantly think cheap, crappy, wrestling show right away when they see the set, and they may actually decide to watch it. Overall it gives a feel that TNA is actually a legit company that maybe around for a while and not just some random cheap ass indy like promotion, where they spend all their money on old wrestlers and nothing else. I really like the new set, now only if TNA improved their creative team *sigh*

i thought the new set looked great, made it look a lot more professional.

The thing that i thought was the best though was the sound, the sound from the crowd never managed to capture how into the show the audience was, they always seemed dead because of their crappy sound system but suddenly they now sound a lot clearer and it really gives the shows that big time feel.

i think the next thing they need to do is emphasize the superstar's entrance music more. It doesn't have the oomph like WWE. Jeff Hardy's music really amps up the atmosphere but I don't see it happening if Jeff Hardy's music was played in TNA. Plus I never really hear the TNA crowd. Always seems like a girly pop even when the big stars come out. I'm assuming AJ should have the reaction similar to Jeff but it comes off sounding like Kofi's pop.

but i do agree that the set is leaps and bounds better than the old one. It looks much brighter and big leagues but still needs to get better pyro. TNA's pyro are basically sprinklers. Even Jericho's pyro is better than TNA's best.

it looks very good tna looks like a better 2nd wrestling promotion with the arena change and now the arena also looks a lot bigger with only one enterance and i like the idea of 2 enterances on one side it reminds me of the invasion 2001 arena but i think the new arena could improve but this will do for now

old arena < new arena

I have to say im so happy to see TNAs set and production is much better than it was I mean the old set looks dark dingy and horrid now though its fresh bright and just like everyone has says it looks like a big league promotion, I would say TNA have now set the ball rolling for some huge momentum in 2009. Its wierd how much an overhaul on production makes a difference. I cant say I like the iMPACT crowd still but beggers cant be choosers!

Yeah I'm happy they finally changed the iMPACT Zone set. The large titon tron screen looks way better than their old smaller one. I also like the digital board screen over the audience as it look effective and makes TNA look like a stronger promotion. The one ramp is fine, much better than the two separate ramps which took up space instead of allowing for more fan capacity. I'm not too sure on the two separate tunnels though. I neither like it or hate it, but it certainly is unique which is probably what TNA was aiming for anyway.

It most likely wont make a difference at all to the ratings, but it's a huge step up for TNA. Broadcasting in HD as well as having a new set that makes TNA look more legitimate as a company is a huge bonus. The appearance and the stars are all there now, they just need to focus on the booking before they can come anywhere close to challenging the WWE. So it's a new nice set, not anywhere as good as the WWE's, but it really shows that TNA is the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world right now.

Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I wasn't crazy about the new Impact set. It looks too much like a WWE set. I understand that TNA's main competition is the WWE, but they just don't have to budget to compete with things such as the set and the pyro. In my opinion, it's just a second rate attempt to copy what has already been done and it makes the set look more cheap than it did before. The old set was alot more unique.
