TNA ReAction Season Finale; How Would iMPACT! Fare?

According to the Spike TV schedule, TNA Reaction doesn't seem to be around in the month of January. If so, it seems next week may be the last of this season before the show goes on break. If this is the case, what about Impact? As we knew there's a tendency to extent Impact's programming into Reaction lately much to the chagrin of many. With Reaction not producing new episodes for the while, will it affect TNA Impact? Or will Spike accommodate to the same lenient schedule without Reaction? If it's true that Reaction is taking a break, when and how should it return?

In my eyes, it's time the show took a break. This week's episode was pretty much the same video packages on repeat. The show needs new ideas added and keeping it airing on a weekly basis with no new ideas won't help increase viewership. Best thing for them to do is to step back a while thing about new ideas to add and come back strong by April following TNA's Lockdown PPV. An idea I've been pitching is to add House Show footage to Reaction in order to generate interest as well as maybe air a couple of House Show and Dark matches under the "camcorder" style of filming the show has. It would really give it that Documentary style to it. And of course, moving it to a new time slot. Maybe Sundays at 7pm in order to give some last minute hype to PPV's. However, I don't see that happening until TNA introduces a second wrestling show.

Any thoughts on Reaction's possible hiatus?

TNA does have a tendency to rely on Reaction a lot. Main events usually spill over on to Reaction, and details for storylines are sometimes explained on this show. And let's not forget the MCMG VS GenMe fight. TNA has to cram a lot of stuff on Impact, and Reaction can be used to help stretch the show. If Reaction is going on hiatus, then It'll be interesting to see how TNA will function without the show.

I'm sure TNA would heavily advertise Reaction's return. I don't think the show needs to change all that much. Reaction can be a unique post wrestling show, and I do enjoy it sometimes. Although, the show can have it's dull moments. Reaction could use a few changes here and there, but I don't think anything major needs to happen.

the way i see TNA wrestling's show reaction is a very simple show that is used to extend their impact programming so that they can have longer main events and extend storylines as far as how they will be able to function impact without reaction will be something that i for one will watch closely as the OP and mitch have both pointed out TNA relies heavily on reaction to futher the agenda of where impact left off and i also agree with the OP maybe a few dark matches or house show results would be a nice addtion to reaction

I like reaction but most of it is sort of useless in the main picture. I think we can do without most of the wrestlers basically repeating themselves from the Impact, though I'd really miss Hardy's bits. In terms of the main event, I think it would be relatively easy for them to fit most of it into Impact.

Yeah Reaction is good because sometimes the interviews and stuff like that can be important for people who werent really paying attention to Impact but honestly they just repeat themselves from Impact and stretch the main event but the show overall didn't have what it takes. In my opinion i kind of liked it.

I'm going to miss ReAction, that's for sure. I love it. But maybe they can do similiar interviews on iMPACT. You know, after every other match or something. It makes it feel more "real". I always wanted them to somehow merge the way they shoot Reaction with iMPACT. We'll see how this goes but I definitely liked it a lot and can't way for it to return, if it does.

Yes. Another thing I like that's similiar to Reaction is Before the Bell and the Backstage Interviews. Before the Bell is good if you're a new viewer of TNA becaus eit basiclaly just gives you detail on the feuds and PPV itself. and the backstage interviews are practically interviews not necessarily in the Impact Zone but just aobut what the wrestler is prepared to do come the PPV.

Reaction was a show I had on the background while working. Not exactly something I paid close attention to. I generally get bored with Promo's, as talking is just well talking.

That being said, I see this as an improvement for Impact as long as they don't go even more Promo heavy to make up for the loss of Reaction. If I watched Reaction in depth, instead of building feuds and stories for me, it actually burned them out for me sooner.

As for bringing it back. It could be a decent 30 Minutes show, as an Hour is too long for me. I just wish they would finish the Main Event up before Reaction, and just do the shows completely separate. That is really annoying when a Main Event is getting traction, only to be stalled momentarily to go to Reaction.

I'll be surprised if Reaction isn't back quickly. I think it was off the schedule for a while last time the contract was up as well then popped back up just as fast. They may miss a week or two over negotiations if TNA is trying to better their deal since the show is a little more established now. Not sure about the rights or costs but I could see TNA airing a version of it online or something if they end up needing to miss a week or two

I think reaction is awesome. I quite enjoy the depth of story and subtle advances in plot TNA does now and reaction is a huge part of that. The behind the scenes elements are interesting as well. Not the biggest fan of the three straight hours but right now that is the best option for getting ratings IMO.
