TNA collecting donations for WV mine disaster - Kurt Angle matching donations

I just saw this tweet from TNA president Dixie Carter:

Dixie Carter TNADixie

Kurt Angle just called & told me he is matching donations raised at TNA house shows tonight-Sat for the WV miners. Kurt, you rock!

As a West Virginian, I have to agree. TNA and Kurt, you rock!

TNA stars are showing up a couple hours early at this weekend's house shows, and collecting donations for the Red Cross, to go to help the families of the coal miners who were lost in the most recent disaster. They're doing autographs and pictures with ANY sized donation. Giving their own time to do that is freakin' awesome. Kurt going a step farther and saying he'll match the donations raised this weekend is, imo, amazing. Heel or face, good or bad decisions later in life, I'll always remember that right now, he's doing exactly what an athlete and star should do with their fame, helping those less fortunate. Go, Kurt!

Agreed, not enough celebrities, in any part of the entertainment buisness, use their creditability for good use. What Angle is doing is nothing short of awesome, donating not only his personal time, but his hard earned money, to an excellent cause. Way to go Kurt!

Classy move by TNA and especially Kurt Angle. Everyone in the company should be applauded for their efforts.

Not to spin this into some type of money-making scheme, but this type of press is exactly what TNA could benefit from, and they should be doing all they can to raise the awareness of their company by participating in as many PR campaigns like this as they can.

Not only is it a noble and valiant humanitarian effort to help those less fortunate than you, but it's also free publicity in terms of being able to get television and magazine interviews out there that feature your name and company to boot. The "silver lining" so to speak.

I applaud Angle and TNA for doing this, and I really do hope they continue to do things like this in the future. It really does help all parties involved.

I can't wait to see TNA tonight. I will be there live and before the show giving donations and meeting Angle and The Beautiful People and so on. Kurt said for every donation collected that he will match it. This is great press for TNA and its great to see them get involved helping out a tragedy like this one. I'll have to post a review online about the show since not too many TNA house shows get reviews online. The card looks great. It should be an awesome show.

I'll applaud them...

It's good to see a company that probably isn't making huge profits right now do a generous thing. Kurt Angle shows yet again that he's a Class Act.
