Occasional Pre-Show
As much as it kills me to say this, i don't think im the only one who thinks it might be soon for Shawn and Mark to hang up the boots for good here is why:

Taker: I was watching over his match with Edge at One Night Stand. Although it was a great match i couldn't help but notice that Taker was almost bald at the top of his head. Then i began to look at old DVD's and couldn't help but think could you imagine a bald Phenom? So i thought maybe this should be his Last Wrestlemania? Is he pass his Prime?

Shawn: God it sends chills up my spine talking about the best damn (ya, i said the best, can't be touched) wrestler retiring, but we all know it was coming. Shawn is going bald as well but can still put on an amazing match. But then i started to think I don't remember shawn wrestling on Raw since Mania 24 (besides the tag match with jericho, but he never got in the ring) and i thought will this be his last wrestlemania too? Is he pass his prime?

Evaluation: As much as i hate to say this, i think that this should be both of thier last matches. But WWE needs to create 2 more stars before they leave. Taker has only gotten better since he was debut, but every year he has to take time to heel injuries, same for Shawn. All i can say is that when they do retire i will cry my eyes out. So tell me What do you think?

I was thinking the same thing. Age has clearly taken its tole on both of these men, especially Undertaker. For two consecutive years his title reign has been cut short due to his injuries. Plus the balding is getting really obvious. I just can't picture the deadman without that long black hair. I was just watching Kurt Angle vs Undertaker @ No Way out and I couldn't help but notice how old Undertaker looked in that match. I think Taker should see Chavo about his hair rejuvenation

I think Michaels has a bit longer left in him since he hasn't really taken as much time off as Undertaker has. But that bad back and knees are eventually going to force him into retirement too.

Ironically, despite their aging, both of these men have never been better in the ring as they are today. Undertaker is much faster than he was before and has expanded his arsenal of maneuvers by quite a bit. Ever since Shawn Michaels returned from his hiatus, he has won 4 consecutive "PWI Match of the Year" from 2004-2007, and I'm sure he will win 2008's for his match with Ric Flair.

Whether they retire soon or not, I hope these two have one last match. WWE has teased it twice at the Royal Rumble and both times were entertaining. Also, their matches in 1997-1998 were really entertaining. I can only imagine what it would be like if these two legends have one last match together. It would be nice if it were at Wrestlemania 25 but I think that's still too soon for these two to retire. I think Undertaker should win, not only because it's WM but I can't recall if Undertaker has ever beaten Shawn Michaels .

No offense, but I'm a bit sick and tired of seeing these threads. Its completely arguable that Ric Flair should've retired well over 10 years ago, but did he? No. He just retired this year, and even that won't likely last long.

Shawn Michaels, while he may be losing hair at a rapid pace and he may be getting up there in age, is still one of the single greatest performers on the card and can out last, out wrestle and out shine any one of the newer, younger generation Superstars they currently have. So the fact is, you can dislike the guy for his morals. You can hate him for being in the business since the 80's. You can downright build hate shrines in your basement while you poke a little H.B.K. doll and hope an injury accures in the same area on the real deal. (A hint would be his back, or mouth. He seems to have a history of back issues, and that whole lost smile thing kept him out for over half a year)

The fact of the matter is this though. Shawn Michaels isn't Ric Flair. The guy isn't Terry Funk, or any of the other has-beens or never-was' from yester-year. The guy is still very capable of going in the ring, for 30 plus minutes, and making his matches the best ones of the night. Fixed by creative to be the longest match of the night or not, if it wasn't for H.B.K.'s talent alone, the matches wouldn't be enjoyable.

He'll retire when he wants. He'll retire when he has too. But until then, I'm begging people to practically just stop with the "I wish he'd retire" crap, because its getting old, and while you have a right to your opinion.. that opinion will never be voiced or heard loud enough to make a difference. Its one step above voting, at least saying it on here won't screw up in a box somewhere in Florida. ;)

As far as the Undertaker goes. Hes still single handedly selling out Smackdown shows. Up until recently, him and Edge were the only two big time names they truly had. (not trying to discredit Batista, but its true) Undertaker, to me, has lost a step in the ring. However to many others hes gained even more experience and knowledge.

Hes remained with more or less the same gimmick his entire career, much like Shawn Michaels. Both men are on par with each other for being around as long as they have. And the fact is, neither guy seems slowed by age. Neither guy seems weaker, or unable to perform on a weekly basis. So what if neither of them do house shows anymore? Shawn Michaels hasn't been in a Championship storyline for years, so it isn't like hes holding anyone out of that picture. And the Undertaker was "promised" his reign, that he never seemingly got.

To be honest, I'd rather not see Taker get a long Championship reign, because I don't feel he deserves it. The guy has become one of the biggest stars the company will ever see, and none of that had to do with how impressive any type of Championship reign ever was.

So I say again, so what if they don't do weekly house shows. I can personally tell you Shawn Michaels still does some. And I'm not the biggest Taker fan in the world to care regarding him, but the fact that remains and will always remain, is both men sell out arenas all across the globe. Regardless of age, they're still at the top of their game and millions upon millions enjoy seeing them there.

Do they need to retire? In my opinion, no. Both of them still bring it on a nightly basis. Both are arguably still as good as they ever were, with Taker seemingly getting better with age. Do I think they need to step back from the limelight a little? Yes. At this point in their careers they are still churning out great matches, so why not have them with the young, up and comers. Give them a rub. Then when they both feel they are not delivering in the ring anymore, they can ride into the sunset with their heads held high.
