Time for a different title change!

In 2005 due to the fact that John Cena won the wwe title the title was transformed into a "spinner belt" which I beleive was fine back then when Cena was carying the title full time.But now i feel that anyone other than Cena looks stupid on the title- Randy Orton,Triple H ETC, they just look ridiculous and just imagine if god forbid Undertaker wins the WWE title again no offence to the legendary Undertaker but he is going to look like an idiot wearing the modern day WWE title belt.At the moment mabey this Kiddy like title is good with the PG era however Does the WWE have any tradition left?

Personally I think the belt now is just stupid and is way past the initially shock of awww cool spinny thing(-:.
So whats your opinion is it time for WWE to give us a new title or is the one we have now still fine?

The WWE Championship does need to change. It should go back to what it was. Yeah it wasn't flashy or anything, but it would look a lot better than this thug and bling belt we've been stuck with for years now. It's well worn out its welcome and it can't help the prestige of the belt when it looks that way.

Yeah I vote for a belt change. I say they go back to the Undisputed Championship they debut once Triple H beat Jericho for the belt. The belt they have now is just synonomous with John Cena and it doesn't look right on anybody else. Definitely vote for a belt change.

My opinion is strip the wwe champ of the title for some reason whoever it might be at the time and hold a king of the ring tournament for the new design belt. This gives them a way to get rid of the old belt and start again with a new one. Any thoughts??

tehy def need a new title change the spinner was cenas he was the only one who should of had it... either go back to teh undisputed title or bring back the old title that bret hard n michaels had back in teh 90's.

How do they look ridiculous? They hold the title of the top tier international professional wrestling federation. The title could be a big Unicorn lollipop and they'd still have more respect than TNA, or ROH for that matter.

Who actually wears the belt anymore? They all just drape it over their shoulder. I fail to see how a spinner you don't even fucking see makes the belt look ridiculous. People are being nit picky over a belt when they need to nit pick over Punk being a jackass and smarting off to Taker. Oh, and the fact that he sucks. Don't forget that.

Considering they have legends who have been working for 20+ years still around, they still have multiple Legends from the days of Hogan either working as road managers, corporate officers, or signed to WWE Legends contracts that essentially pay them to sit on their ass, I would think they do.

It's just fine. And besides, you can't go changing the title every 5 years because you don't like how it looks. Or else it's going to be changing every WM, because there is always someone who doesn't like the way the title looks.

If Orton wins at Bragging Rights, I could see him celebrating on RAW with a ceremonial destruction or burial of the John Cena Spinner Belt and bringing back any of the old designs.

Who is the guest host that night? That is a key question, as you would need someone who didn't mind siding with a villain and being booed.

I think they have changed every five years or so lately. It's 2009, the Spinner Belt came out in 2005. The Undisputed title was a new design, that was 2002. The Smoking Skull belt had to be around 1998 or so. I don't know when they dropped the Winged Eagle belt, but I'll bet someone around here knows.

It's not like they've had the same belt for 10 years. It's a gimmick belt, and the gimmick is a little stale. I think the current belt is (or should be) Cena specific. I would favor going back to one of the old-school belt styles. But it's not like the belt is a huge problem for me.

A specific reason to have Orton destroying the Spinner Belt (yeah, I know, it doesn't spin anymore) would reflect Orton's hatred of Cena and all he stands for. It would make him more of a villain to the kids who like the shiny sparkly belt.

Razor, champions besides Cena using the Spinner Belt would be a tiny bit like someone beating Kurt Angle and carrying his medals around, well after the feud with Angle is over.

Ah, the age old WWE Title belt argument. Ok, so a lot of us may think the belt has seen better days than its current incarnation (I would be of this thinking) but the fact is, whether people like it or not, it's not going anywhere. It is a money maker for the WWE, it sells like hot cakes (especially among kids) apparently and from what I hear it is actually quite a popular version of the belt. Plus, the flashiness of the belt helps play to the showmanship of whoever is champion, but still it isn't my favourite version of the belt...yet I'm that used to it now that it really doesn't matter.

I think it needs a change now. Razor is right in that you can't change the belt every couple years, however this current version of the WWE title just doesn't look right. For being the biggest belt in wrestling it sure doesn't give off the feel of a world class title. They should go back to one of the older styles and just leave it.

While I definitely see what points are being raised and am a bit tired of the spinner belt as well, I’m more concerned with what the title and it’s champ represents and not what the belt itself looks like. As long as the champion seems legit, makes it clear that they care about being champ or wanting the title back if they lose, it, etc. then to me the appearance of the title is secondary. I fully understand why anyone would feel differently.

In all honesty, before I opened this thread, I forgot it was even a spinner belt. It's really not a big deal at all, it's just a belt, nothing more. Like a few people have said already, you can't expect them to change the belt every few years just because someone doesn't like it.

I say change the belt.

It was cute for the first few title reigns Cena has had with it, but as soon as he vacated it due to injury at No Mercy a few years back(the show with two HHH vs Orton matches) Vince should have unveiled a new championship belt instead of the stupid spinner.

Plus, its not like its not like anyone over the age of ten will miss it, hell once they turn that age they probably think spending money on fake title belts isn't cool anymore.

The spinner was the shit when it debut I was about 14 and thaught it was cool only on cena not on anyone else and when Eric wanted to give Kurt angle the wwe belt the undisputed title. I was so happy cuz bischoff stripped cena and gave Kurt the undisputed belt then Vince came out and gave cena his spinner back I was soooo pissed.
The wwe title looks so silly on guys like triple h or orton. It's bling it has no prestige!!!
The us title looks more prestigius then the wwe world title

I agree it does need to change. Sadly, it usually takes someone who is going to have a long title reign to change it. Edge was supposed to have his own design (it's actually cool cause the wrestlers get to design their personal belts) but do to time constraints, they scrapped it and gave him the dumb rated r spinner that lasted like 3 weeks. And thus, we are stuck with the spinner that douche Cena designed. And I say sadly because long title reigns are a thing of the past. We can only hope somehow, someone gets a long reign (or at least is planned to have one long enough to get a belt design) so they can introduce a new design that is better than the one we are stuck with right now. And razor, they may have THE top title, but it looks ridiculous, it's gaudy, and has so much to it that it makes it look cheap, therefore making the person who is champ look out of place. Anyway, until a new one is introduced, I am just going to try and ignore what the belt looks like and enjoy the fact that Cena isn't champ.

Now if only they would take the belt off of the Miz (and fire him). But that is a topic for another thread.

i agree with most of u in the fact that the "spinner" belt only fits cena persona(tht doesnt mean i think it looks stupid with orton, hhh yes), i also agree with u who say that the apperance of the belt doesnt really matter. would i prefer they go back to the undisputed belt or go to a more traditional lookin belt, hell yea. but for now we got the "spinner" belt, which is a bit flashy. at least they are giving it to wrestlers who dont demean what the wwe title stands for.

Thank you. The belt shouldn't be a huge problem for anyone. I understand getting tired of the belt, but bitching about the belt when there are obviously more important issues going on right now (Who is Orton going to feud against if he wins at Bragging Rights? MVP?) is not the best way to be spending your time.

Sure, okay. But what is he going to change it to? He's a Legend Killer, so he won't hold the older belts in a high regard. Are we going to have a title with a Viper on it? I have a feeling it'd look even more silly than a bling'd out title belt.

..But those medals aren't there to signify Angle as the World Champion. The World Title is. Take his medals, but that doesn't prove anything. Take the title, and show that you're holding Cena's belt, the top Face on Raw's belt, and that means something.

Not only is this the most overdone thread on WZ, it is also the stupidest. It's time to face facts:

1) The WHC is much stupider looking

2) The WHC looks much more like a toy than the WWE title.

3) The WHC doesn't sell like the WWE Title

4) The WHC is more stale than the WWE Title

5) The WWE Title is a mega seller, and since titles are nothing but moneymaking props anyways, getting rid of it is beyond stupid.
