Thoughts on Cage?

Starkist

(To Rip) The Heart From Your Hate
I've watched the newest episode of Lucha Underground which featured the massive man Cage. Cage who I am not to knowledgeable of besides seeing him in TNA a little bit is a massive man. Cage fought a four way elimination match up against some newer name guys. Cage had some offense in but he spent a lot of time outside that ring as well. I guess they did this to hide his weaknesses, I guess? When he was in the ring he showed his strength by catching the dive into a suple alas Lashley has done. Then he was doing the double powerbomb pin. When I saw this I instantly thought of Lesnar. He did this when he debuted many moons ago.

My questions are simply. Do you think LU should model Cage as the BEAST of Lucha Underground? Do you think he should take over the power roll that Big Ryck is not doing to well at? Or do you think he doesn't deserve it and simply sucks? Tell me what your thoughts are.

He's very unfitting. Which showed in his first match where Aerostar, Argenis and especially Angelico did all the work only for him to come in and do one move to eliminate everyone. It might be the old "Monster" push in wrestling, but it looks very badly done when it's at the expense of clearly harder working, more talented individuals.

Had the match been against a jobber instead of this showcase for the other three men, it wouldn't look as bad.

I agree, and it's more than likely why TNA didn't sign him. Lucha Underground needs some big time heel other than Chavo. I'm not sure who could be a better monster heel Big Ryck or Cage.

Mil Muertes and King Cuerno easily. Those two are extremely talented in the ring as well as play their characters extremely well. They both play 2 different characters between AAA & LU and play their heel roles very well in LU.

I do like King Cuerno, in not to big on Mil Muertes though. I find him not all that in the ring. I think Cage has more raw power going for him that Mil doesn't. I don't know him Muertes that's is, but I want to see what they do with Cage. Hell, I want to see what they do with all their bigger guys and see who shines the most.

Agree with KJ that Muertes and Cuerno are lightyears beyond Cage or Ezekiel in terms of working an effective heel gimmick. Being a heel today pretty much requires you to be able to get heat with what you say in collaboration with what you do, and neither Cage nor Ryck are all that great on the mic.

Cuerno hasn't had much, if any, promo time that I know of, but Mil Muertes with Catrina has been exceptional in the vignettes and backstage segments they've run.

Cage, Chavo and Ryck could carry the heel load for a short while, but Muertes and Cuerno obviously have the most longterm upside.

Cant see how Ryck is gonna be heel in the short term, he was just turned on by his crew he'll be back to get revenge on them where he'll be a face. The only way that Ryck remains heel is if he squashes Cisco and co. and then intereferes in the main event later on. If he squashes Cisco and co. they will be well and truly buried.

So Muerte will have to be the big heel because Cage will not last as he is shocking on the mic just listen to the interview with Vamp(who sucks on the mic as well) and he just babbles on repeating himself until he gets to the catchphrase. And he wasnt overly impressive in the ring, the only thing he has is a good look and thats about it.
