This Will Go Nicely, If The Shield Go Face

Pay Per Ghost

What they f*ck happened in the thread section here
You know what I hated the most about Monday Night Raw this past week? No it wasn't R-Truth's return to rap being cut short. Not the fact that you guys missed how Bray was dancing with Truth's limp body before hitting the Sister Abigail. Hell, it wasn't even the fact that the whole roster looked stupid just standing there during the 'coronation'. It was actually The Shield being used as some fucking jumped up security guards. Being timid and controlled.

They have been bribed ONCE before. And then they have run amok, a few times quite headlessly, but they have brandished their brand of justice with impressive matches and going over some hefty names. But Hunter addressing them as some hired jokes tarnished a lot of their allure that they've built over these months. You may say "Oh PG, they're heels, and were meant to stop Bryan." Naaa man, Shield have had their own style of law and order for months, and it doesn't involve taking orders from anyone. ANYONE

But see, they looked surly, real surly. Now maybe its just how they've always looked, I have short term memory, but this would be a great way to let them finally embrace their inner Big Bossman with the blue shirt and go face.

Now imagine: H keeps harassing them about protecting THE FAMILY. The Shield are none too happy and one of these jobs costs them first, the tag titles, and later Ambrose's US title. Dissension within the group keeps building until finally, they snap and let loose their frustrations, by attacking Randy Orton. Let's say around October shall we? So as we are heading towards Survivor Series, maybe we have a Team Bryan vs Team Desk Jobs match. And Team Bryan's first OR final recruits...The Shield.

They are due a face run, and this would be quite the apt way to do it.

Use the white boxes below to shit on a great idea OR, come with me children...

And Believe In The Shield!

I would not mind seeing them go face. It could set up Shield vs Wyatts so im all for your idea. I like the idea of them just snapping after going through title loses and being pushed around by Triple H and Vince and maybe even Orton. So like I said I'm all for it.

I think they will stay heel and will strike a deal with the company. Turning them into the company hounds of some sort. It'll give them a little bit more clarity, will give HHH, Steph and Vince all more of a heel push and they could become the corporate assholes we all hate.

Before that would happen though I figure they'd have a sort of tweener feud with the board, since they don't want to give up their beliefs but as heels do want to achieve success at all cost. Could be a really interesting turn...

I worry about The Shield and their role in this feud. They have been built up by attacking the likes of The Rock, Taker, Cena and Jericho but now they are going to be bodyguards. I'm not sure how this ends but your idea is intriguing.

Would turning them face be necessary. It would give them a different edge but I think they are better suited to being heels. Towards the end of this year I think it would be a good time begin moving away from Vince. I honestly don't think it would be worthwhile turning them face. I split could be simply be them walking away from Vince and HHH and returning to being the hounds of justice.

From January to WM30 they can feud with anyone but it should be separate from the McMahon feud because it could become a situation where it is HHH (with The Shield) vs Wrestler X. What a waste of 9 months building them would that would be.

By the end of WM30 they should really be looking to split. Almost all stables have an expiry date and The Shield are made up of three talented, young superstars that are all able to become successes. Having The Shield act as the bodyguards of the McMahons could have a regressive affect and they shouldn't be involved with them by the end of the year.

Here's what should happen.

You do the whole angle with Daniel Bryan going up against this new version of the Corporation (HHH, Orton and the Shield). This angle can easily run until the end of the year, and ultimately needs to conclude with Daniel Bryan regaining the WWE Championship. I'd also eventually include Punk in the angle, and have him as one of Bryan's allies in his battle with the Corporation. Then, once Bryan wins the belt, you set up a face vs. face pure wrestling match between Bryan and Punk at WrestleMania 30 for the WWE Title. The Corporation's goal was to basically hold down the smaller indie wrestlers and prevent them from having top spots, so it makes sense for the final pay-off to be a classic wrestling match between Punk and Bryan on the grandest stage of them all for the most prestigious title in the company. It shows that the Corporation was wrong, and that a new generation of wrestling is here.

Alright, so what about the Shield? Well, after the whole feud between Bryan and the Corporation is over, you begin moving towards a Shield face turn. The Shield goes rogue, and basically turns on Orton and Triple H. This would lead to Orton and Triple H bring back Batista for one night only at WrestleMania 30, setting up the Shield vs. Evolution. This would be another huge match on the WrestleMania 30 card, and would help to really elevate the Shield to the next level. "We Believe in the Shield" is a slogan I can see appearing on signs in arenas across the country. I really think a Shield face turn could work, with Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns playing more of the "anti-hero" role.

So coming out of this one angle we have two great WrestleMania matches: Punk vs. Bryan and The Shield vs. Evolution. When Cena comes back you have him call out the Undertaker for WrestleMania 30 and you've got what I believe could be on of the best WrestleManias of all time. You have some huge draws, plus you're building new stars.

It's really not rocket science, it's pretty straightforward booking.

Nice idea

And 6 months after that ambrose can turn in Rollins and reigns and go back to being the heel he is meant to be

However

But I don't why people think the shield should go face. If cena et al can be faces for many years I don't think turning face benefits the shield.

I hate wrestlers that constantly turn

What's wrong with them being heels for years on end

I've already booked all this in the Bryan winning the title at Mania XXX thread. I think the Shield should get a face run before they break up, so they know who works better as a heel and who works better as a face out of the three of them. I've never seen Ambrose as a real face, in WWE, NXT or his pre-WWE days, so I think it would be fascinating to watch. Rollins works well as a face, while Reigns is still up in the air. It'd be a fun experiment.

And yes, The Shield as faces against The Wyatts as heels would be a great feud. Both groups are over and, with the title in the mix, it would benefit everyone involved. The Survivor Series match you suggested would be good, as well as a 6 man tag match at Wrestlemania XXX. WWE would be stupid not to book it, to be honest.

I believe a SHIELD face run is definitely in the cards. There's still the Real Americans who can add more members. The Heyman Guys and The Wyatt Family. The way to work this is for the Shield lose their titles and begin losing. After that, they find themselves being beaten to the task or outdone by the Wyatt Family. It finally comes to a head where Orton, HHH, or Vince suggest that maybe the McMahons would be served better to end their alliance w/the SHIELD and to start bargaining with the Wyatt Family. I like the idea of The Shield vs Evolution at WM, but the big payoff is the moneymaker-waiting-to-be: The SHIELD vs. The Wyatt Family!!!
