The Shield going face? and against the Authority?

L@RISANO

R.I.P Mustang Sally :( :( :(
So on the latest SmackDown show, the Shield were being very defiant towards the DoO,Kane.
He 'commanded' them to accompany him to ringside for the night's ME vs the Big Show.

the Shield were defiant, but still came out to ringside because, according to them, it was 'best for business'.
At the end, when Kane told them to finish the Big Show, they refused causing Kane to go after Seth Rollins. Roman Reigns made the save delivering the Spear to Kane after he was at the point of delivering the ChokeSlam to Rollins as the Shield were leaving ringside.

So;
Did that ending to SmackDown mean that the Shield might turn out to be Daniel Bryan's unlikely allies and ultimately go face and oppose the Authority?

Is the Shield break-up off until post-Mania, and the WWE has decided to go a little further and change direction with the group?

From a personal POV, I like that the Authority will now have some role in the Shield's programme and there might well be some interaction between the Powers and the Hounds of Justice on Monday Night RAW.

This story has gotten much more intriguing and the WWE has handled it well thus far. There are now loads of possibilities for the Shield going forward with regards to Wrestlemania and beyond.

Some possibilities after what happened on SmackDown:
the Shield can stay Heel, and instead Kane ends up siding with DB after he gets tired of being pushed around by HHH and his wife;

the Shield can go Face, and defy the Authority, leading to the Authority forcing their break-up by scheduling a match and causing the final dissension between the 3 members, somehow.

the Shield can go Face, and help DB overcome the odds at Mania, and post-Mania, the feud with the Wyatt family can be restarted, somehow.

I am sure many of you guys can think of other Awesome possibilities for the group now.

The Shield have said since Summerslam that they always do what is best for business but don't take orders from Kane, Orton, Vickie or Maddox and the only ones they seem to take orders from is HHH and Steph. This is not a clear character change or turn this is just the Shield being in it for themselves and not taking orders from anyone.

I don't dislike the idea of the Shield working with Bryan if it lead to Shield and Bryan v Kane, HHH, Batista and Orton at Extreme Rules which would be a great match but if the Shield are gonna turn face and become happy joking faces I would hate that. The Shield need to be the badass heels/tweeners who work for themselves, beat up anyone in there way and put on great matches in the process.

An Extreme Rules main event of Bryan(c) and the Shield v Kane, HHH, Batista and Orton would be a good match with a good build if the Shield did turn face

I do agree that if they were made Babyfaces, it would be better for them to remain as Tweener types. However, this "Face" turn, if it done shortly, makes sense, as the fans have gotten behind the Shield especially during the feud with the Wyatts, in which the Shield were, for all thougts and purposes, the Babyfaces in the feud.

As for them saying it before....it is one thing to say stuff. It is quite another to do prove it. On SmackDown, the Shield have finally shown that they have overcome being the Authority's lackeys. I hope this "defiance" is shown more on Monday Night RAW and they show some attitude to HHH and his wife as well. Will make for some GREAT Television,lMO.

Well, I think this whole thing is premature. I am going to call it now that the Shield will stay together and either at WrestleMania or just after it, will turn face. I mean how cool would it be if at the main event Daniel Bryan is about to win the title and, guess what, here comes Kane and HHH and the Shield looking to stop DB from winning the whole thing. But, wait, the Shield holds Kane and HHH and maybe even Batista off, DB with a Knee Plus on Randy Orton. 1...2...3 we have a new champion. That may not be what happens but count on it: The Shield will stay together, for now, as faces.

I mentioned this the other day. I see the Shield going face and staying together until at least SummerSlam if it goes well.

I would love to see the Shield stay together till next year probably. If they are finally going to have a triple threat, it should have a big fight feel to it. Maybe Rollins or Ambrose winning the Rumble, the other winning a no 1 contender's elimination chamber maybe, and Reigns walking into WM as champ could sell big time.

As of now, since they're so over with the crowd, they can become tweeners and face Kane in some sort of six man tag at WM.

Btw, if Reigns were to win the world championship this year or the next, whom should he beat to win it? I think it'll be pretty cool to see Reigns take on Brock Lesnar for the championship and beat him! Kinda like how Brock beat Rock at Summerslam 2002! Shield should still be together when Reigns wins the title, and Ambrose could then turn on the Shield. Actually, it can happen the other way around also. Ambrose can win the championship and then Reigns could go face and turn on Ambrose. Thoughts?

if shield go as face team against the authority then they turn ambrose as heel against their own team at some point. This will split the shield.

Personally I would love to see a Shield face turn. The group are not going to be together forever and with the success they have already had, it would be intresting to see what they could do if they did turn face. Also the Shield taking on the authority could end up taking Roman Reigns and the rest of the group to the next level and would pit them against the likes of Batista and Orton and even set up a Reigns vs HHH match somepoint down the line.

If The Shield do turn they need to do the badass tweeter role ala SCSA when he bucked authority.

I like your third idea, especially if The Wyatt Family become the new henchmen for The Authority.

Creative really needs to take advantage of fans liking the Wyatt Family/Shield feud

Agreed.

It wouldn't be too difficult to setup and resume it post-Mania either.

Have the Wyatts put out Cena for a while after Mania and have the Shield(assuming their break-up is put on hold) come back to confront the Wyatts with a Final culmination at Extreme Rules to setup the Shield's final dissension with perhaps Ambrose being the one to remain Heel and screw the Shield.

Through all of this, have it be revealed that HHH was the Mastermind behind trying to screw the Shield because of their defiance before Mania(assuming they do show defiance towards HHH on the coming RAW).

This could setup HHH vs Roman Reigns at SummerSlam and Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins for the US title.

I think its going to be The Shield vs Kane, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan. Rollins and Reigns vs Harper and Rowan was already rumored, and with Big E in that 30 man battle royal, Ambrose needs a spot on the card. And since they're already teasing tension with Kane, that's what I think will happen. Or at least that's how I'd do it.

I hope so. Daniel Bryan has absolutely nobody out there that's worth anything. His biggest ally was just in a diaper two months ago, and now we're supposed to take him seriously. His other ally decided to take his ball and go home since he wasn't the center piece of attention. Daniel Bryan has been getting his ass kicked for a while and has always been getting back into the fight, but realistically he's going to need help. Even Luke had help taking down Darth Vader and the Emperor [though, the Emperor lives but you get the point].

The Shield are a perfect candidate in my opinion, especially if you think about how things worked out. Recently, Shield have been doing the bidding of The Authority for months and were the team to fear. All of a sudden, the Wyatt Family comes in and The Shield are beginning to get overlooked. And after the way Kane tried to attack Rollins, and Batista saying there are no more "real men" in WWE, that can give the Shield motivation to join the fight with Daniel Bryan.

Plus, it eases Reigns into a powerhouse face run and maybe WWE can start churning out some Shield merch. They've been an attraction for a while, but as heels they haven't had much merchandise being sold other than their theme song. Hell, even the Wyatts have the Goat Mask... As faces, WWE can start selling Shield Vests, Shield action figures, t-shirts, and all sorts of stuff.

The biggest trick would be to have The Shield continue being The Shield. I'd like to see them attack heels the same way they attacked faces.

I can even see this. The angle could be that the Shield, because of their defiance against Kane, are "left off of the WrestleMania card." (I can also see this because I don't know who they are going to fight this close to WrestleMania. The 3 of them vs Kane is ok for Raw, not worthy of being a WM match). Being angry, they disrupt the main event attacking Orton and Batista and HHH, who we know will be at ringside, allowing Bryan to be champ. This then leads to a full blown Shield vs the Authority program that could carry WWE into the summer.

the Shield vs the Authority is something I would truly love to see, especially since the Shield is booked like Anti-Heroes...I am sure the fans would get behind all 3 of them, and it would surely catapult them to Stardom by the end of the feud.
Would love if Daniel Bryan goes into a Single program with Batista, and Orton in the background for a little while...and the Shield do just as you say at Mania and disrupt the Main Event, turning the Entire Authority against in a programme leading onto SummerSlam. Have Ambrose turn the Shield at some point, to seal himself as a possible Top Heel of the future.

That said; I doubt it will happen. Guess I'll just have to do my own Shield vs Authority booking on TEW. ;)

I don't think it makes much sense for Kane to team up with Luke and Erick at Mania. I think he'll be teaming up with NAO instead. Shield will win of course, but this match doesn't really have a "WrestleMania" feel to it. They jumped the shark by wasting the Shield/Wyatts match on EC.

It is a pity, isn't it? the Shield was used merely to put over the Wyatts as the new dominant Heel faction in the WWE with a look forward towards the Wyatts' Cena programme.

However, I do believe that CM Punk was to have a programme with Kane, whilst Daniel Bryan would have gotten HHH. the Shield was supposed to break-up.
However, due to Punk leaving, that obviously was changed.

A 6-man tag vs Kane & NAO is an OK programme for the Shield as Babyfaces, I suppose. I do hope that a Shield vs Authority Storyline Feud can be carried on Post-Mania. It would do a whole lot in getting over all 3 guys from the group,lMO.

I guess I could live with Kane/NAO vs Shield, but that just feels like the kind of match they used to book years ago when they just wanted to get someone they liked on the WM card, in this case that being Kane. I do hope they go Shield/Authority after WM, with that being the impetus for the eventual Shield break up.

As far as I am concerned, The Shield and what is happening / what will happen with them is the best current storyline in the WWE. Every Monday and Friday I can't wait to see what happens next. It seems as if they are turning face, which I love, but as mentioned above - it needs to be the badass / Stone Cold / defy The Authority - type of face. Of course it has been said that Reigns is the main guy from the group who will get the big face push, and I don't disagree, but I think Rollins has HBK-like in-ring potential. I love his offensive style, very fun to watch, plus he's built like Shawn and even has the long hair. I need to hear more from him on the microphone and don't get me wrong, there will never be another HBK, but I think at some point down the road Rollins will be huge! I'd love to see a Rollins-Daniel Bryan or Rollins-Dolph Ziggler feud... or if he were to come back, CM Punk. Those pairings would produce some phenomenal matches!

I like the idea of the face turn and keeping them together for awhile. I think someone said through SummerSlam, I like that idea. They could battle The Authority between now and them, build on their individual characters, maybe have some more individual matches as well. As mentioned above, The Shield is one of thee main reasons I tune in each week, the more they get used, the better. I also like the idea I saw on here that has them as faces staying as they are, but instead of attacking the faces in the name of justice, they could/should attack the heels in the name of justice. They're still fighting for justice, just essentially they change their own idea of what justice is.

I just don't see how any of these guys look credible against The Shield. NAO and Kane lost a step. Maybe Road Dogg could pull the injury card and like someone suggested a debuting tag team takes their place.

Wow, I made a post just like this a while back and got roasted for even mentioning a Shield face turn after Mania... Look who was right you mo's!

Anyway I think the Shield can easily stay together through a face run. It will give them more experience for when they split and there is still so many wrestlers that they have yet to feud with because they have been heel their entire run. Shield vs Authority could be that one storyline that begins the Raw after Mania 30 and builds until Mania 31.

I haven't thought of the Shield vs the Authority lasting One whole year. But I can't say that it wouldn't be intriguing, and it could help build all 3 guys in a way that noone could have imagined.

Maybe, it could setup Roman Reigns vs Triple H at Wrestlemania 31, perhaps?

I really like the idea of a long, drawn out feud between The Shield and The Authority, possibly ending at WrestleMania next year with a HHH-Reigns match. It will be very interesting to see where they go from where they are right now. I hope they are thinking long term as far as The Shield is concerned and when the inevitable break-up comes, the do it in a good way, and a way that makes sense, not just breaking them up for the sake of breaking them up.
