Yes the title says it all. I bet you guys think that this thread is about Kobe Bryant... Well it kind of is but it is not entirely about him. Who else could it be about you ask? Well if you really want to know it is also about the Lakers "pickle", Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza. Why is it about them? Well I will tell you.
Lakers are in a bit of a pickle during the off season, apparently they can only sign one of there free agents in Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza. Trevor was currently getting around 3 and a half mill a year before his free agency and with him improving and looking like he will be a excellent contributer in any team in years to come will/should be getting around 8 or 9 million a year. Now Lamar Odom was getting around 13 million a year before this off season and while some may debate that he was getting over paid he still should be getting atleast the same amount as Trevor Ariza. Again you may say that this is too much for him. But it isn't. Odom can play any spot on the floor with ease. He can rebound really well and is improving his right hand and his jump shooting. He is very lanky as well so that helps with the defense a little.
Now Trevor will probably be there best asset for the futrue with his up in your face defense and his offense is getting better and better, plus he is much yougner than Lamar. But still picking out of these two would be hard.
However if Kobe wants to win another championship then he must do something to keep them both, and he can do something. He is currently getting 24 million a year right? Well he has the opt out clause tthis year and he can choose to opt out get less money ( seriously does he need any more?) This will give the Lakers enough money to keep both Lamar and Trevor. Kobe was complaining about the Lakers two years ago and he said they need to do something about the team, well Kobe nows your chacne to win 2 championships in a row without Shaq and all you have to do is get around 15 mill a year.
Anyways, is this a good idea? Should Lakers not keep both players?
