This Fire Burns...

Does CM Punk's old theme "This Fire Burns" need to come back or do you think Cult of Personality is an effective enough theme song?

The song might fit him, but it's not a great wrestling entrance song in my opinion. Ironically, This Fire Burns was originally Randy Orton's and he used it once or twice before going back to his old theme back in 06'-07'.

He's obviously got fans tonight, but his entrance didn't seem to get any pop. If he's gonna be the next Austin, he's going to need to re-invent that glass shatter's atmosphere in the arena.

Punk does need a song that's going to get the crowd to MTFO out though when it hits whether it be This Fire Burns or something else. CoP just isn't doing it for me right now.

Sucks the crowd in Cali won't be as into at SS as they were at MITB. I think This Fire Burns really set the tone at MITB. Anyway, I just think Punk needs something fierce.

I know, I heard him on the ESPN podcast when he said this will be his song for the far seeable future, I just don't want it to ruin his momentum.

I put the "something new" option because I don't think it has to be This Fire Burns.

I guess we'll just see what happens, I just wanted to hear what others had to say. I kind of would of liked to have seen him use Miseria Cantare. I have no idea what kind of reception that would of got, but the song does have it's moments. These are the lyrics.

Interestingly enough, "recognize one silent call" makes me think "voice of the voiceless" and "we all form one dark flame" speaks of a fire still burning.

I don't think his entrance song will in anyway affect how his momentum goes. As long as he keeps winning, and cutting good promos, he's good. Plus, he's the only superstar that is getting an outside song. If anything it should keep his momentum higher.

Obviously "Cult of Personality." "This Fire Burns" was a great theme and if Punk were to still have it I'm certain It'd be as praised as it was pre-Money in The Bank, but if you look at the lyrics of "Cult of Personality" it suits him down to the final tee imaginable.

If they cut the beginning a little it could work. But I wouldn't like it, it just doesn't seem to fit Punk...he seems like more a Rock N' Roll type of guy, this song gave me more of a rap feel. John Johnston could probably cook up something that would fit Punk better than that, don't get me wrong though, it's a good song.

Cult of Personality is the better song. Hell, it's better than anything Killswitch has ever done.
