They Think It's All Over... It Is Now

Uncle Sam

Rear Naked Bloke
Ladies and gentlemen, let me be the first to celebrate The Undertaker's victory in the second annual WrestleZone tournament. It's been a year of thrills and spills that lasted roughly three months depending on when you think it started. We've had some upsets - Vader beating Austin, some real upsets - Rob Van Dam taking out a number one seed, some retribution - Vader handing RVD his ass and some great debates. Add to that that this has sparked off the infectious bracket fever and these past few months have been eventful... in WrestleZone terms at least.

Feel free to contemplate the events that have taken place and bathe in the glory of the inevitable winner - a man that beat Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels and Randy Savage to claim his rightful prize, the phenom, the deadman, The Undertaker.

It does show me that there are still fans out there that know true talent. The two tournament winners have both been legends of the sport. Those two have had multiple classics and both deserve to be the winners of these tournaments. I can't wait until next year. Great time during this one as always.

Undertaker as the overall winner is a step in the right direction. I'd have prefered Savage. He's just better, and not a current wrestler. But Taker is cool so I'm not pissed. Next time I'm going to take IC25 lead and really get behind a wrestler. I can't pick Dynamite because it just won't work. It would require people to watch his Japanese stuff. I can't go with Akeem because, well he's shit. So I'm possibly going to go with Rude or Bigelow.

Next year I think I get behind Andre. Vader can take care of himself now (though I will still stump for him) but Andre needs some love.

ANd thanks to Jake, it looks like Bigelow will be taken care of, so that's three SHW's with tourney backers. Awesome!

My exposure of Andre is WWE related. So I can't back him based off that. But I guess I have a year or so to check out some of his earlier stuff. I'll give it a shot. But I doubt he's gonna become my new favorite wrestler.

This was my first WZ tournament, and I had a lot of fun participating in it. Its awesome to see people with such informed and intelligent views on wrestling (save the jokes, please). I've been on many forums where a post that says nothing but "LOL" is acceptable, and seeing threads around here filled with hotly debated points and clashes of trains of thought has been exhilirating.

I look forward to next year. Without a doubt, the man of the hour in this tournament was IC25. Anyone that complained that Savage should have beat more people than he did should take notes from the Vader push. My god, I could almost SEE IC25 at ringside, being Vader's freaking manager!

Evan, thanks for the compliment. As I have said, I didn't know HALF the shit about Vader I learned through research, and though I entered the tourney with Vader as one of my four underdogs, I left being a HUGE Vader mark. So I learned a bunch too.

A lot of people's visions of Andre are slow, WWE-based visions. And that's ok. How many people know Bigelow as WM fodder for Lawrence Taylor? How many knew Vader as WWF jobber to the stars? I will bring out some HUGE firepower next year for Andre, and maybe someone else.

I also want to say I love this idea of posters getting behind a particular guy. The campaign HQ's were a great peice to the puzzle. Everyone did a fantastic job, and while I appreciate all the compliments, part of what made what I did better is the fact that all of you asked questions, debated me, and kept an open mind to read what I found and keep Vader alive. Evan, Wabbit, Sam, Polley, Jake, etc. especially.

I watched it mostly from the sidelines and have to say that this tourney was handled great and I personally would have liked to see Savage win though it's fine because this won't be the last tourney and there are other wrestlers who will win this... Go w/ Bigelow though I'll back that up 100% Good Job Guys
