The WWE Battleground LD Will Be Your Huckleberry All Night Long

They want chants within a kayfabe context. As a wrestling fan, I want to enjoy a kayfabe wrestling match, and chants like "you can't wrestle" ruin that. It's disrespectful to the performers who are trying to put on a kayfabe match by chanting non-kayfabe things at them. It's pretty simple.

There's nothing wrong with a "you can't wrestle chant." If the crowd doesn't like a performers work then they're free to voice that opinion. It's no different then fans booing players at sporting events when they have a bad play. You don't have to agree with it but there's nothing wrong with it.

This argument doesn't work for a number of reasons. Firstly, professional wrestling isn't a sport, it's a performance. It's closer to a play than it is to a sporting event. I know how much you love my play comparison, but you don't chant "you can't act" at an actor when he's really trying and working hard.

Secondly, if there was the slightest chance that they were judging Ryback based on this one match, it wouldn't be as bad. But like I said, Ryback was working hard to make the match good, and the match actually was pretty good. The fans would've chanted that regardless of how good the match was, just like they chant it at Cena during many of his great matches.

Also, the Goldberg chant doesn't even make sense anymore.

Just because it's scripted does not mean pro wrestling is closer to a play then a sport. No one boos antagonist performers during a play, no one holds up signs during a play, there's no champions in plays. Pro wrestling is a performance in a sporting event setting.

So now you're a mind reader and you believe that your idea of a good match is everyone's.

But it's still a performance in a kayfabe context, and the wrestlers are performing in a kayfabe context. You don't think it's disrespectful to the wrestlers if the crowd is chanting intentionally non-kayfabe chants?

Okay, you missed my point. People can have their opinions of what makes a good match. My point is that fans aren't willing to give a performer a chance, they're going to chant "you can't wrestle" regardless. Just like they did to Cena against Michaels, Punk and Bryan at the start of the matches. All of which turned out to be great matches.

And I don't need to be a mind reader to know that people who didn't like those matches are morons.

Since when do they play the theme song of wrestlers interrupting matches? o.o
Not as if a lumbering giant running down the ramp is hard to spot.

Filler ending for a filler PPV, completely expected. Though if there was any time to legitimately ask for a refund should anyone have paid for this....

What an atrocious PPV. I cannot remember the last PPV which was as awful as that one. With the exception of the Rhodes match, absolutely terrible from start to finish.

Okay this storyline is now just becoming way to confusing now

From what I can gather, Brad Maddox was told to make sure Orton won cause it was best for business. He tried to stop Bryan winning by sending out the Big Show, believing Show would be an obedient puppet. Big Show did his job by punching Bryan, but then had seconds thoughts and punched Orton.

It's not so much confusing as it is piss poorly executed.

The main event was good but the ending was annoying. Makes sense for what they're doing, but it's annoying.

Fair enough without the "part-timers", Cena, Sheamus, Kane even Christian and Henry they would struggle but that was exceptionally bad.

I don't the main event was as good as it should have been, and I don't just mean the ending. It didn't have much of a flow to it, and the crowd seemed to drift in and out.
