I saw this topic posted on the main page a few hours ago and thought it was an interesting discussion. Now, don't get me wrong, both guys are going to get a great reception from the fans at Mania, my hope is that the fans in the arena respect what the WWE has done and doesn't become a smarky crowd like at the Royal Rumble. But, in the event that they play ball, who do you think gets the better reaction from the California loyal?
For me, I'm going to go with Sting. The Undertaker is a legend in the business and more importantly in the history of WrestleMania. So by rights, he should be getting one of the biggest pops of the evening. But I don't think it will be the biggest. I think that will be reserved for the Icon Sting. And I firmly believe that for a couple of reasons. Firstly, their opponents. Triple H has been the top heel in the company for the last year, like it or not. People genuinely hate him for one reason or another. His role in the Authority has pushed him into the bad books of the fans and I bet they can't wait to see him get his ass beat with a baseball bat once and for all. The same cannot be said for Bray Wyatt. For me, he isn't an out and out heel, despite how much the WWE are trying to market him as "the new face of fear"... At the end of the day, people like him and his edge. I feel the crowd might be a little split because of this. The fans want to see Bray win and get the rub. They don't want to see Triple H get the win. Whatsoever.
Secondly, it's Sting's first and perhaps only WrestleMania. He's been a legend in the business for more than a couple of decades and now he's finally made it to WrestleMania. Not to put down any of The Undertaker's accomplishments at Mania but it is a routine that we all seen before. That's not to say that it won't set the hairs on the back of your neck on end. But I think that the fans will realise that a Sting appearance at Mania is a special event and will react accordingly.
But what's your thoughts?
