The team of Matt Hardy and Great Khali

Occasional Pre-Show
I noticed that the Great Khali and Matt Hardy are on the power 25 as a tag team. Now when they first wrestled as a tag team I thought it was a 1 time deal. Now this tag team is beating the Hart Dynasty. I mean this is the most unorthodox (not sure how to spell it) tag team I ever seen 1. I hope this tag team is succesful but really this is just another example of WWE teaming two people together out of the blue. So what do you think about this so called tag team.

I really can't give much of an opinion on this tag team. The reason why is because, just like you, I also thought this would be just a one time deal, with putting 2 random superstars together as a tag team. However, that is obviously not the case. The reason why I can't give much of an opinion is because, they haven't exactly had any matches. They've been in the ring as a tag team, in little 2-3 minute sessions. You can't push a tag team unless you actually give them time to shine.

i sure hope not khail just needs to retire already wwe has no use for him.also i thought i read on here that he needed knee surgery so he really shouldnt be wrestling anyways, and matt hardy should just go to tna because doesnt use him the way he should be used. he could be a solid mid card champ if given a heel turn and the right feud i know he had a failed heel turn but back on topic yes i believe they are a tag team unfortunately.

Ugh.....

Yea I can't stand this. I'm a Matt Hardy fan, but that's not why this pisses me off. It's because Khali and Matt Hardy have NOTHING in common. Khali is a joke, playing a horny character. And, it's insulting that Matt's his partner.

It's probably because SD Creative has nothing for Matt or Khali to do, so they're going with this. And they're beating the Hart dynasty, a REAL tag team that should be tag team champions by now.... Matt should be doing something else, at least be a singles midcarder, although he was more than ready for the main event when Jeff left...

Glad I'm not the only one who looks at the Power 25. I don't know what to think of this team. I like that Matt's being used, but as for Khali... not so much. They should honestly just fire him. He can barely walk. I, as did the rest of you, thought this was a one time deal. Guess I was wrong. Oh well. I mean, I understood the pairing of MVP and Mark Henry because black wrestlers are usually paired together (Cryme Tyme, Harlem Heat, lethal Consequences to name a few). I understood the pairing of Punk and Gallows when Punk began his Jesus gimmick. I understood the pairing of Goldust/Yoshi because Goldust was teaching Yoshi English. I don't understand this pairing. I don't get it at all.

The team of Matt Hardy & The Great Khali?? You see, this is the reason why Smackdown head writer Michael Hayes shouldn't be allowed to drink and create!-Just joking.

I guess this is just a message to Matt Hardy from Vince McMahon saying "Jeff is Michael Jackson, you are Tito"! Vince McMahon doesn't care about Matt's career with "Life after Jeff" in the WWE. Matt Hardy is there to pep up the young guys until his services in the WWE are no longer required.

And as far as Matt Hardy going to TNA. I don't know if Hulk/Eric/Dixie will have to hire him? He's a mid-card talent.

Matt Hardy and Khali as a tag team is one of the most random teams I have ever seen. Hardy's over enough to not need this team, and Khali is terrible in the ring. I don't get why they would be booked to win as team, over the Hart Dynasty even! People wonder why the tag team division is so bad, yet you have teams of "midcarder for life & big guy no one likes" going over "true" tag teams like the Hart Dynasty. This is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with the tag team division. I hope this team gets quietly disbanded soon so they can both go back to jobbing, what could this team ever accomplish? If they won the Unified Tag Team Championship then that would ruin what little prestige JeriShow and DX brought back to the belts.

WWE is stuck with Khali for a while, because I believe he's signed to a long-term contract. He's horrible and pointless, and teaming him with Matt Hardy only further demotes Matt in my opinion. That they were booked over The Hart Dynasty is a f*cking crime.

And for those who think TNA wouldn't take Matt, you couldn't be more wrong. I'm sure TNA sees ample opportunities with Matt. Way before Jeff took off to become a superstar, Matt was on the cusp. His Matt Hardy 2.0 gimmick was incredible, and I really had high hopes for him. Unfortunately, other than his short-lived ECW World Title reign -- which promptly turned him into a Smackdown JOTS -- he's been poorly utilized. I'm 100% certain, though, that he'd shine in TNA if given half an opportunity. At worst, he'd make an outstanding X-Division champ!

I dunno. I saw this as a way to let Khali perform without doing a whole hell of a lot. Matt Hardy is brand recognition, everybody knows the Hardy name. He can still do a decent job in the ring and can mostly carry the match himself. Khali isn't extremely mobile or limber. He comes in, does a big chop to the head, or a boot to the face....the occasional clothesline and tags out. He's pretty much done for the day.

I like Khali, but I like him as a character not a wrestler. Big Show is more agile in the ring, and that's really saying something. Pairing your giant with your Hardy is a business decision, pure and simple.

I honestly believe if Khali had some flexibility and could put on a half decent match, he'd be getting into handicap matches alot more and winning at least 75% of the time. The fact that he's stiff as a board is what's holding him back. And Hardy is there to actually put on a show for the audience. Eventually they'll go their separate ways without much discussion or notice.

Dont they look kind of odd,Why didnt they pair matt with some one like JoMo.I also thought that it was going to be one night pairing but i guess that we were all wrong.I really dont know if Vince is going to make them a big Tag Team,But i hope to godthat they dont,Like i had said they look kind of odd.Matt hardy is kind of a high flyer thats what made the hardys a top tag team,Will Khali be a high flyer? i dont think so.So really hopefully this team wont last past EC.

They want to keep Khali around because the fans seem to like seeing him, but working a match is just too hard on the poor guy's knees. It's logical they would give him a tag team partner so he doesn't have to work as hard in the ring.

Matt Hardy, on the other hand, looks like shit with that bloated belly of his. He's getting so fat that his moves look awkward and sloppy. Still, though, he can handle himself in a match and cover for Khali's lack of mobility.

So, why not team them?

My guess is that this is Khali's last stand. After he works with Matt for awhile, I think the company will future endeavor him. Sad.

Pros for teaming with Khali:
At least Hardy is not jobbing anymore.
At least Hardy actually gets on TV and gets to talk.

Cons:
This is solidifying Hardy's status as lower midcard for life.
Hardy will never win another title, or have a title match, unless he is riding Jeff's coattails. But those days are long gone now.
This reinforces my hate for random teams being thrown together, especially when they win the tag titles like Miz and Big Show.

It keeps both men busy. Eveyone knows why Khali is being kept around and Matt Hardy is over enough to not be released. Better this than having Khali in any real fued and having Hardy cut awful promos on whichever midcarder he's working a program with. It is odd having them go over any halfway decent team like Hart Dynasty, however it's not like theyre gunning for the titles. Hart Dynasty isn't doing anything either right now, so the two teams are pretty much on the same level.

But hart dynasty has potentional to go far.Matt and Khali is just an excuse to get a new tag team to jobs to other tag teams.

But yes better then Khali in a feud, which is even worse in a title feud.Remember unforgiven 2007?Rey vs Khali vs Batista for WHC.It ended with batista pushing rey out of hte ring then spinebustering khali for the win.and it was even that good of a spinebuster.

^ Hart Dynasty doesn't have any potential. Neither of them can talk and they have no charisma. The only thing they have going for them is that Bret is back in the company and having the Hart name attached to them.

As for the Hardy and Khali team I think it sucks. Hardy is over enough to main event if they would actually give him the f'n chance for once. Khali flatout sucks. Not even sure why he's even still around.

Getting a win over the Hart Dynasty isn't that great. They're really boring and are pretty much just riding on the fact that they have a connection to the Hart Foundation.

Hardy and Khali is just giving each guy something to do wrestling wise instead of ending up like Carlito or something. Keep them to jobbers and/or Superstars and this team won't be annoying. If they get a title shot, that would be terrible and just sad.

I always disliked tag teams that were formed between a former multiple tag champ and a random superstar(Miz and Show, Edge and Hogan, Matt and MVP and know Matt and Khali), it very rarely works. (Miz and Morrision and perhaps Edge and Orton in Rated RKO being the exceptions)

However it does give Matt something to do and I'd rather see him on tv than not, and maybe (wishful thinking) he impresses creative enough to put him back into singles action at maybe upper midcard/main event

This is just another one of WWE's random tag teams, and I don't anything will come of it. In fact, I don't even think Matt and Khali will get a shot at the tag titles. They might, but the chances of it happening aren't all that great. At the moment, there's really no place for Matt and Khali to fit into any storylines or title pictures on Smackdown. I guess this is WWE's way of giving them something to do for the time being. This tag team won't amount to anything, and after it's ended, we'll all probably forget Matt and Khali were a tag team at one time.

I enjoy Matt Hardy and it makes me cringe when I see him paired in oddball tagteams like with Khali or even R-Truth. I sure bet Matt is regretting even coming back to the WWE sometimes after being released for that Edge and Lita mess. I remember at the time he was a huge topic on the internet and he had a chance to sign with TNA then. Which yes TNA was in a different place but he could of been in a spot like Christian was or more and may still be there today instead of playing bottom of the mid-card in WWE. Next he will be teaming with Hornswoggle because it seems all Khali seems to be anymore is a comedy act.

Well, as the creator of this thread said, this is just another pairing of two random supestars. So, no, I do not want this to succeed. Not at all. I hate the pairing of two random guys, and it is RUINING tag team wrestling.

This is just as stupid as JeriShow, MizShow, MVP/Mark Henry, Golddust/Yoshi, DX (they obviously have a connection, but they are mega stars), or any other random pairing you can come up with, there have been plenty. This is the one thing, along with Sheaums being champ as well, that just BUGS THE S**T out of me. I cannot explain how much I hate this and how little sense it makes. Have teams that MATTER! Why does WWE hate the tag division so much that it has been relegated to harboring people with nothing else to do?

This will end up like MVP/Matt Hardy. It is a way to give Matt Hardy a small push, because of his tremendous fan base. He will likely be a transitional tag team champion w/ Khali, winning it from ShowMiz and then losing it back to them, or losing to a team like Baretta and Croft.

I don't want to sound like a hypocrite or a complainer, but at first, I thought there were not enough tag teams in the 'E, along with many other people. But now, there are just too many tag teams that are just random pairings. This is one of them.

It could end up like MVP/Henry, getting a tag team shot against the champs, losing, and immediately dying down after it. Pointless team either way.

I am thinking the writers are getting WAY too lazy and reverting back to the old Roulette wheel to determine the partners anymore these days, I smell the RAW ROULETTE. LOL  At least with Legacy, it was a good dynamic/formula. Even DX, or Miz/Morrison had something solid-had substance. Then you see Khali-Hardy, Miz-Show, MVP-Henry tag. C'mon Matt, Khali could be used for you to do the V1 leg drop from. I've seen 80 year old grandmas with 20 something studs on Jerry Springer that look more in tune with each other and more less crazy than some of these tags. ;)

I find it hilarious that it wasn't that long ago, like last summer WWE released the greatest Tag Team dvd, and now look at the cluster bomb of random pairings they have. Let's put milton berle and RuPaul as a tag team. I would be great with Ric Flair. :banghead: I think some writers need to lay off the kool aid and maybe watch the classics of the old days of tagging, the Freebirds, the old school days of Von Erichs, or 4 horsemen, etc. I know the WWE wants to be family friendly, but The Odd Couple was a good classic tv show, not a great formula for all tag teams. Time for Matt and Khali to call it quits. It was funny for 5 seconds. there's no real creative-ness involved with a match, matt does the work for like 10 minutes, then Khali does a brain chop, etc.

I never watch any segments where Matt Hardy or the Great Khali are involved. These guys IMO are just plain boring. Someone said here that Khali shouldn't be wrestling anymore because he has a bad knee. He doesn't wrestle even if he didn't. I can't believe the wwe paired these two guys in a team at least that will be one less segment I have to skip. I think this team just plain sucks.
