The Style of Cesaro

Is Cesaro's wrestling style too slow for today's WWE? He has a methodical, brawling style, using a lot of holds, reminiscent of old school wrestlers. Even his lean muscular build is a bit out of place in today's world of overly swollen big men. I like his matches but they move slow and fans just seem to sit without any major reactions. I think fans have gotten so use to his uppercuts, which he does execute very well, that they don't pop for them like they did early on. It seems like the only time he gets major pop is when he does the swing or when he does his power moves against larger opponents.

I like removing him from the Real Americans and the addition of Heyman because those moves show him progressing into a serious singles wrestler. But even that seems to bring heat only before and after his matches, not during. Would you change anything else about him? I'd find it hard to change his wrestling style. Could his style be spruced up with a few higher impact moves and more importantly, should it?

I don't know what you mean, the guy has a faster pace than most on the roster. I thought he was a little slower tonight on RAW against RVD, but I thought that was mostly because RVD couldn't keep up with him. Definitely not fluid at all tonight, but I've been seeing that a lot with recent RVD matches. Compare this match to the matches he's had with Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan and you'll see what I mean.

He gets reactions for a lot of his moves, and they're all very high impact. I really don't understand where you're coming from at all.

I personally wouldn't change anything. They did all the tweaking during his US Title run and while he was a Real American.

The old-school style is his gimmick, that is him. He is a throwback, he can work slow and methodical, then flip the switch and hit you with 10 uppercuts in like 10 seconds. I fail to see a problem with his style and fan reaction.

The Major pop is not only for the swing, which is now his trademark. I can recall many moves where he received a huge pop.

IMO, he as enough high impact moves already, and he keeps introducing them.

I just have to get used to the new theme song.

ya im not too sure about the theme song yet. and i thing he throws just a few too many upper cuts in his matches. hes good at the obviously but he does it often and with alot of variations. other than that i love his style in the ring. honestly i think hes better on the mic than people give him credit for. he needs to talk more and not have heyman say everything

True statement about his mic abilities, but without Heyman doing all the talking, we would never know that his client, Brock Lesnar, broke the Undertaker's undefeated streak at Wrestlemania.

Dude busted out a Tiger Bomb on RVD on Raw. Gave Cena one of his best wrestling matches on raw (in my opinion,) and he variates his move set frequently. Nothing wrong with him.

Actually, there's more to come if you've been a fan of Claudio in the indy days.

I'm still waiting for Daniel Bryan to one day hit us with the "I got til 5!" He did once in that CM Punk match in the pay per view.

One could argue that Cesaro's mic skills aren't what they should be. However, his in-ring work and style are perfect. He is very unique and can wrestle a variety of different paces/styles depending on who it is he is working with, which many cannot do. I wouldn't say he needs to do anything different as far as work style, he just needs to work on improving his promos to connect with the crowd. Once he gets that down, he is golden.

His pace fits his style. I HATE when guys do moves too fast. It looks choreographed and phony. Example I always use: Alex Shelley can do a 12 step submission and get courtesy applause, Daniel Bryan can get a "oooooo" from an arm wringer. Execution is key. It should look like a struggle.

Cesaro's style is perfect. It looks like a struggle and it looks like he's straight up out muscling guys. The crowd loves his style. His euro uppercuts look vicious, his superplex where he pulls the guy off the apron is impressive, his swing always gets a huge reaction, what more do you want? It shouldn't look like a video game.

With all due respect...what the fuck? Did you just arrive on a time machine from the 80s? Guys today aren't that big and hulking at all. There are a handful but it's definitely not the norm.

I like Cesaro's style. Reminds a lot of Karl Gotch from back in the day. Not sure if he's too slow for WWE's standards, but he's great for the workrate mark side of me.

Yeah Cesaro is about as good as it gets in the ring in the WWE right now.

If there is a problem with the in-ring product, which I feel like there is, I feel like the WWE is to blame.

The product is so watered down, it seems as though each wrestler needs permission to do ANY move. They assign you a few moves that your allowed to do and that's that. Then they tell you to work slower for the large crowds, then they tell you after every near fall get up and look like you can't believe it. The in-ring product is just horrid, every match in the WWE comes across as having a slow as hell pacing. Cesaro works and strings together moves just about as quick as anyone on the roster. Not to mention he is as innovative as anyone on today's roster. I'd gut half the roster and replace them with ROH, DGUSA, and Evolve guys. Then you'll start seeing some back and forth matches, counter for counter...

til then... Dolph hits the Zig Zag... they both lay there hurting for a moment... Dolph has to crawl slowly towards the cover even though he just jumped above his opponents head to hit the move... Alberto kicks out... Dolph puts his hands on his head sitting up on his ass in total disbelief for the 4th time in this match that he can't put Alberto away... omg... this never happens!!!!!!.... Cole calling the match... "DOLPH... ALBERTO... DOLPH!!!".. but what are they doing Cole? I'd hate to go blind and be a wrestling fan... well I wouldn't be a wrestling fan anymore... Dolph and Alberto slowly stir to their feet... they look at the crowd 3 times each for no apparent reason as they still slowly get up... they stand their staggering at each other.... Dolph hits Alberto who slowly stumbles into the corner, Dolph slowly walks over there, glancing at the crowd two more times to make sure they actually exsist, Dolph throws a wrist that connects with the top of Del Rio's head... Del Rio expresses great pain as Ziggler looks to the crowd for 3 more seconds, he grabs Del Rio by the head, slowly lifting it up... and he gives him another wrist to the head!.... and all of what I've typed has taken at least 2 minutes to transpire... WELCOME TO THE WWE WRESTLING PRODUCT!!!!
