The Sports Bar

You're right, it's rather ass backwards to say something like that. However, he is partially correct.

I know he's correct but I was really surprised to hear him say it. It just sounded bad to me. The really strange part is no one reacted to it at all. It was just part of the conversation. The hosts didn't blink an eye at it. No callers responded to it. Maybe I overreacted to it but I thought it was a bad thing for a professional to say.

Well now that is done, I've got nothing to look forward to but hot dogs and nachos at Turner Field. The Braves are getting hot right now (6th straight win tonight). Hope they keep it up only 2 games behind those damn Phillies.

I love watching Verlander pitch. I watched yesterdays gem from the 1st pitch to final out and he looked better then when he had his no hitter a few days ago. If he keeps this up there's no way he doesn't win the Cy Young, with apologies to Jared Weaver and Alexi Ogando. He's 2nd to only Halladay in terms of best pitchers. It's scary how dominant he can be when he's on like he has been since May came around.

/********ing.

I have Weaver, Tommy Hanson, Josh Beckett, Yovani Gallardo, and Roy Oswalt on my team. Granted, it's only a 6 person league, but i believe that's a damn fine rotation. Had Hamilton and Zimmerman not been out as long as they were I wouldn't just be tied for first.

I'd say it's been a pretty good decade for Boston sports fans. It's strange that their longest championship drought is now the Patriots.

Morneau has been put on DL, dunt dunt dunt another one bites the dust...

Seriously though it's like the fucking Twins are cursed this season or something

So, the end of a pretty decent hockey series turned into a shit fest last night. Show some fuckin' class man...

If you read the thread in the Cage, you would have seen the fans there HAVE no class. They riot for the hell of it. I called a riot in the NHL thread earlier in the week. Win or lose they would have done it. People came ready with shit to start the fires, as well as propellant.

I went to the Cage thread second, in fact, I just repped (green) one of your posts. Seems as though those ********s have given good folks such as yourself a really bad name. Good luck dude, seriously.

Apparently Golden State wants to get Dwight Howard for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh, and Andres Biedrins. The trade would probably make Golden State a playoff team but it makes no sense for the Magic at all. If they do trade Howard they could get a much better deal then that.

if they don't throw draft picks in that trade, it's shit. However, throw a first rounder (or 2), and it's better. Plus you have to realize that with everyone and their mother knowing that they will be trading him, it lowers the value they get back.

Of course that is unless James Dolan decides to overrule his GM again and trade the farm (which they don't have) and future picks (again, don't think they have them either) for him.

Even with a couple first rounders it doesn't do shit for Orlando especially with Biedrins 27 mill he is still owed. Orlando could do better with another team.

Chad Pennington's career may be over. He is going to take 2011 off to recover from injuries and he will be working as an analyst calling games for Fox. He will reevaluate things after 2011 and a 2012 return isn't out of the question but it's not guaranteed either.

I can't wait to hear him. He's a brilliant QB, hopefully it will translate to the booth.

And I doubt he'll come back to play next year. He's 35 now, with 4 shoulder surgeries during his career and a torn ACL he's currently recuperating from. It's a shame, as he would be an excellent 1 year stopgap for teams drafting rookies or without starting QBs.

Apparently he was impressive in his audition and he's going to be teamed with Sam Rosen who is a veteran and pretty good in his own right.

Sam Rosen is awesome. Absolutely AWESOME. He does the New York Ranger games, so I hear him a lot, and he's among the best in the business. VERY underrated. And his football work is just as good.

I'm not surprised Pennington was impressive in his audition. He's very smart, very well spoken, and lived and breathed football.
