Close is a bit of an overstatement at this point in time. When all is said and done Pujols could be the greatest right handed batter of all the times.
And Manny was complete and utter shit? You're underrating Ramirez.

Manny Ramirez was the most feared hitter in all the American League for his entire stint with the Sox, and his stint with the Indians was similar.

I like how you jump to conclusions. Typical. I didn't say he was shit. I just said it may be a bit of an overstatement. Oh wait, you jump to conclusions no matter what. I forget sometimes.

Frank Thomas in the '90s > Man-Ram in the '90s.

I would say A-Rod up until he joined the Yankees was more intimidating, then in '04 I'd say he was most feared because that's when he and Ortiz had a full season together.

No, you were saying that it wasn't close. That's bullshit. Manny Ramirez was the most feared hitter in the AL for a span of at least 6 years.

Frank Thomas in the '90s > Man-Ram in the '90s.
Of course, Manny was still a rookie/young kid at the time.

I think it was close. A-Rod on the Rangers was dangerous. He wasn't as feared because there was no one else. Manny did have protection which helped. But the whole "Close is a bi of an understatement at this time" is asinine. You're completely underestimating how dominant and scary Manny Ramirez was. When he was at the plate for pretty much his entire Sox career, you'd rather face any other hitter in the league. Bar none.

Yet if Pujols continues the pace he's going, he'll be a top 5 hitter ever.

Hell, through 10 seasons Pujols stats closely match Manny's 17 or 18 years (whatever it was).

I'm not knocking Pujols in the least here, but there's no way in hell he's gonna keep this pace up for another 5-10 years. If he does that, he'll be the greatest ATHLETE of all time, not just ballplayer. He'll still be a phenomenal ballplayer, but he'll tail off a slight bit.

And if he kept it up for that long, people would likely begin to speculate about him (I'm not saying he's using, but 15+ years at the level he's going at and people might think he's on something).

I like how you know what I'm saying when I actually do. Close is a bit of an overstatement. Plain and simple.

Manny came in in '93, Thomas in '90. Wow that three years really is a HUGE difference.

Christ get it right. I said overstatement. When Manny had Papi, which for a full season started in '04, that's when he was at his most dangerous. Then he quit in Boston in '08, and had a resurgence at the end of the season in LA. I'll say a 4 year stretch was his most dangerous. He will always be recognized as a great hitter, but Albert Pujols is simply better.

Anyone else not give a fuck about the NFL Labor thing? Since there is this thing called College Football that certainley still exists?
You're a 49er fan. Of course you don't care lol. I'm a Jets fan. Thus I care.

Actually, I understand that, but as a big-time NFL fan it does matter to me. College Football can't come close to the same caliber of football as the NFL. Plus the whole polls and BCS crap kills it. I do care this year, as Notre Dame is looking like it could have a winner this year. Maybe we can get into a post-New Years bowl, maybe even a BCS Bowl.

I'll probably care once it becomes late summer. But until then, I've got a big heaping of baseball, and playoff hockey and basketball to occupy my time and attention.

Lets hope the flyers make it as far as they did last year, they have been looking shakey ever since the all-star break!

HERE WE GO FLYERS HERE WE GO WOO WOO

Not gonna happen, because my Sabres will have them out in 6 games. I'm pretty sure they have the second best record since the Allstar break, and definitely one of the hottest teams the last 2-3 weeks of the season.

Kenny Britt was arrested in NJ on three charges, evading police, lying to police, & obstruction

Britt is just another in a long line of talented fuck ups to play for the Titans
