The Cards better sign Pujols soon. If he becomes a free agent next year one of the more likely destinations for him is in Chicago with the Cubs.

It's a perfect destination if the Cardinals can't resign him. Carlos Pena only has a one year deal so he will be gone and first base will be a position of need. The Cubs would without a doubt give Pujols whatever amount of money he wanted. Plus Wrigley is a great hitters park.

And if he goes to the cubs, St. Louis will make LeBron returning to Cleveland look like a family reunion compared to the reaction we'll give him.

Without a doubt. I hope he can give them at least some sort of "home town" discount. Pujols in any other uniform is a tragedy.

Oh and 12 days fool!

I know! I've had a countdown on my whiteboard in my apartment since December :). Keep an eye out for a Facebook message about it sometime this week.

Stellar. I'll have a definitive answer on Thursday. I told my internship that I can do a day event, so hopefully I get one of the early ones, if I have to on that Saturday.

Also, should just point out that the Bulls are having a great season so far.

Lastly, why the fuck are people already trying to shit on Mike Quade?

I personally can't wait for Albert Pujols to leave the Cardinals...but please don't go to the Cubs.

Shocky is sick of seeing him 18 times a year.

You damn right. Him out of the National League is preferential. I've always thought Ken Griffey Jr. was the best player I'll see in my lifetime, but I'm thinking Pujols might be the best player in the history of the game.

Agreed. His swing was probably the sweetest I've ever seen, and he was a great fielder when he was healthy.

Pujols though, just a fuckin' monster.

Just some tidbits of NFL news since this is creeping near the bottom.:

Peyton Manning getting the franchise tag, though I just imagine this will move towards getting a deal done (once/if the CBA gets done). Other guys getting tagged were Michael Vick, Vincent Jackson, Tamba Hali, David Harris, Logan Mankins, and LaMarr Woodley.

Bills released Marcus Stroud. Could be a nice pickup for a team looking for a DT or a 3-4 DE.

Jets are planning on letting Cromartie test the market. Makes sense as they have to let Kyle Wilson see the field sooner or later since they spent a first on him, no sense in keeping him at nickel.

Raiders hooked up Richard Seymour with a new deal. Smart move by them as he is a pretty key player and with them possibly losing Asomugha it keeps their next best defensive guy around. Plus they did spend a first on getting him in Oakland.

A team will pick up Stroud no doubt, but not a 3-4 team, that's part of the reason why we cut him, he struggled making the transition into the 3-4 last year.

Now I think the Raiders signing Seymour is definitely a good thing as he has been good for them and mentoring the younger guys, put paying him more than Peppers? No way, the numbers are not released yet, but it's indicating that he is going to get more than Peppers.

Regarding Nnamdi Asomugha I really don't see him leaving Oakland. I know he said he wants to go to a proven team but he loves the environment that the city of Oakland brings. He is a community guy and the Raiders really can't afford to lose him so they will do whatever it takes to keep him around. I think the hiring of Rod Woodson (who Asomugha is really good friends with) as the DB coach is a sign of that.

And Angel as much as we need a QB I don't really want to draft one in the first round. I'd rather us stick with Joe Webb and see what we got. And if he does good, awesome. If he sucks and the team sucks it puts us in a prime position to draft Andrew Luck next year if he declares. Also without the CBA drafting a QB is riskier (in my mind) than other positions due to how much money they want and the learning curve at the QB position. Though I'd settle for a QB either way, but what I really want us to draft is either a DE (Adrian Clayborn from Iowa preferably) since Ray Edwards and Brian Robison are FA, a OT since our line is terrible or a CB (would love Amukamara from Nebraska but that is a pipe dream). Most realistic option at CB would be trading back for a guy like Jimmy Smith from Colorado.

With the rate the CBA talks are going he may have no choice but to sign with Oakland if he wants to play next year (assuming there is a season next year)

C Matt Duchene is sidelined indefinitely with an injured left hand that might be broken. The Avalanche isn't saying how serious the injury is, but it's another major blow to a team that has suffered a rash of injuries to front-line players all season. Duchene was hurt Monday against Calgary when he was hit with a shot from teammate Kevin Shattenkirk. Duchene is the Avalanche's leading scorer with 21 goals and 47 points in 57 games.
(Yahoo! Sports)

That sucks, I had him on my Fantasy team and he was more than filling his spot nicely, not to mention tha Avs are going to really miss him, especially with them being 11 pts. out of the 8th seed

He's kind of the entire Tigers offense so hopefully there isn't a suspension from the league or the team but he really needs to get his shit together. He could show up to a game drunk and go out to bat with a sombrero on and hit better then 90% of the guys in the league but his health is the first concern.

Ouch that is certainly a big blow to the Avs. Duchene has been a stud this year for them and the kid is a gamer. Really puts a damper on them making a run to get into the playoffs. If he can manage to comeback and plays this year, if I'm the Avs I'm letting him sit out (assuming it is really serious). That way they can get him back completely healthy next season and hope for some better luck.

No more football :(

Who else is in the crew that doesnt fear an NFL lockout in the least?

You see, there is this thing called College Football....

College football is certainly fantastic, but I will be one PISSED OFF individual if the NFL locks the players out. I'm tired of hearing about this aspect of it, but the truth remains, if these million and billionares can't work this shit out, there is something majorly wrong. The NFL is easily the most popular of American sports and they'd be out of their tits not to have a season next year. There's no way the NFL would lose the number of fans MLB did, but I'm betting they'd lose a few and that's just dumb.
