The Sports Bar

The Falcons on a 3 game road trip starting with Tampa this week. I need to find another place to go to besides TGIF just getting tired of that place even though I like it.

Agreed. It was nice to see all the sports posters unite for a common cause.

Yea, even Sly got in there. At least we know we all know what we're talking about when we go in there. I used to hate that the sports section wouldn't get much traffic, but if it means not having to deal with idiots like that, then I'm fine with just the 10 of us who do.

Right call.

It's funny how things change within a year. At this point last year in Philly, all the Eagles struggles were blamed on the QB (McNabb) now it's the QB (Vick) who is saving them.

There's gotta be a good local place. I know you're under 21, and as such might not be even allowed to get into some places, but look around. Do some research online if you have to.

Damn Jets Safety Jim Leonhard is Out for the Year with a Broken Tibia, thats a Really Big Loss for this Team
MASSIVE blow to the Jets. However, the team can rebound. Eric Smith and Brodney Pool are now starting, and James Ihedigbo will get some more playing time too.

I did the research and I even drove around to some of the potential places. I have quite a list to choose from if I can't find anyone to go to Dave's and Buster's with.

Possibly two of the best back to back prime time NFL games in a row this week. STEELERS v Ravens for the division most likely. Followed up by Jets v Pats on Monday. Should be two highly contested match ups, with one of the winners most likely going on to be champions of the AFC. Thoughts on which of the four teams has the best chance?

Oh before any other further talk goes on. Sox got Dunn.

That sucks. Not for the Sox, but I wanted the Tigers to go after Dunn to protect Cabrera, even with Martinez signed. Should be curious if Konerko comes back now, though.

Tough call. Jets beat the Pats who beat the Ravens and Steelers and the Ravens beat the Jets. It's a vicious cycle.

Homefield will be critical. If the Pats get it, with Brady's crazy home record (like 25 wins in a row) I'd think they'd be the favorites. However, I'd say Baltimore has the most complete team, but defensively with Ray Lewis still playing at the top of his game and Joe Flacco looking a lot better with some options to throw to like Boldin, Housmanzadeh, Mason, and Heap (I know the last two were there last year, but the first two helped take some of the targets off their back.)

EDIT: Oh yeah, the Red Sox are about to get Adrian Gonzalez. Huge move. Probably would be the 2nd biggest to behind whoever gets Lee. The guy's still young (not even 30 yet I think) and is one of the top 5 first basemen in the game, and top 10 hitters. Big move, and that gives them a nice bat along with Ortiz (and possibly Werth).

So just because they're a non-automatic qualifier means they don't deserve to be in the NCG? Come on man!

Compared to two automatic qualifying undefeated teams? Yes. And it's not because I'm not a big fan of TCU, its just the truth. I'd be saying the same with Boise. TCU's going to the Rose Bowl. I think that's a good consolation prize, especially for a Non-AQ.

A non-AQ will never make it over an AQ. Ever. And that is right. Tougher conference = higher risk of losing = higher reward.

Sadly, it looks like it's going to be Oregon and Auburn in the BCS National Championship game. TCU more than deserves to be in it.
in favor of whom? Auburn and Oregon played MUCH tougher schedules, and went undefeated against them. TCU was CLEARLY #3, which puts them on the outside looking in. Had one of the 2 teams lost I'd possibly agree, but no way in hell does a Mountain West team deserve more consideration for the National Championship then an undefeated Pac 10/SEC team.

And this is the reason why the BCS isn't really fair but unfortunately I have to agree with you. Had Oregon and/or Auburn lost (really who thought they'd lose against South Carolina?) TCU would have been there. Should be a good National Championship game nonetheless.

I initially thought he wasn't coming back. BUT!...

They want him back. With Pierzynski being re-signed, Dunn coming in, and Linebrink going to Atlanta and clearing some space, it's possible. Pierzynski and Dunn are even moving their salaries back a little bit to clear space for him to come back. The team and the fans want him back and to retire as a member of the White Sox. The 2nd best slugger in team history, it would be heartbreaking to see him come in on a visiting team.

Cardinals signed Lance Berkman. Now either our 2-3-4 or 3-4-5 slots will be some order of Pujols, Berkman, and Holliday. I am stoked. I just hope our pitching can step up and not force us to need to score 7 runs a game to win.
